What the flying duck did I just read?

there’s a sub group that takes it even further?!

my . God
It’s not even a group, it’s an “event” he’s created where you are sent over to when you say you’re done with dieting. You get terrible m, confusing advice that you are supposed to implement yourself with no training and then he occasionally pops in to give tips and big up this one woman who is piling on weight under his instruction. He promises once you’ve built muscle that you’ll be able to eat more calories for life, but when speaking with an expert, they said that’s not true and they might get an extra 75 calories a day on top of their dieting ones. It’s all a big con.

So you are encouraged to lose weight with his plan, then when you do, you're told to gain it back in muscle???

Yep! But then he says obviously some of it will spill over into large... so then you cut it by dieting. It’s basically yo-yo dieting. It’s what body builders do. If you don’t want to be a body builder (like him and poor Rachael is forced to be) then tough, there’s no help for you.

I would post a pic to show you, but that’s unfair on the poor people being convinced it’s what’s best for them.

He can’t see beyond his own lifestyle and preferences. He loves the gym life and focusing on muscle and that’s great. For him. But he forgets that that isn’t right for everyone. He’s damaging and toxic.

I said to him directly that I wasn’t comfortable with bulking up (I’ve never been larger than a size 12) and he was all “ah that’s fine your mental health comes first, and your goals” but there is literally no support for anyone that just wants a normal balanced lifestyle. It’s either diet, or bulk which is what they both do. He’s all “I’ve dieted 26 times in my life” or something like that. In all for losing a few pounds if you’ve gained a bit, but yo-yo dieting, it’s no different to the other swimming clubs.

I think Rachael probably has fatigue as she is forced to constantly be on a diet to maintain the image as I’ve never seen her bulked up like he expects others to be. Always tiny. A lot of the women have lost their periods and have all been brainwashed to think it’s normal.

I think so. But they have a get out clause.
I think a fair few people could argue he's caused them a lot of issues. He best stop lecturing people on their period cycles and making out he's one step down from God in that case 🤐 I would be interested to see what a couple of professionals in law and consumerism would make of it all.

I just think, you all have been feeling bad (I read your whole thread until 1am last night!) because you’re overweight and he’s shamed you for it. But even if you follow his plan to the letter, you end up not getting support. So he can’t blame me for being “lazy” I got to 115 pounds.

I actually messaged them and said I was still losing weight on higher cals one week and they said “oh it’ll be water” I said I got dizzy and feint on a couple of walks “well hunger is normal, you’ll need a refeed” they are teaching people to have eating disorders “in my opinion” under the banner of helping people lose weight and learn nutrition. It’s all lies.

I don’t want my son learning “mummy can’t eat that, she’ll get large” “mummy has to get up at six and March on the spot or she’ll get large and nobody loves a fatty” I’m so angry...

They all think he is infallible and just trying to help. Look how few of us are here and seen the light! It’s a cult for sure.

don’t despair! Protein is good, calorie counting can work if you do it healthily. Contact Preece nutrition. He’s been so wonderful this morning.
Are you a member of Preece now? I’ve been debating signing up tonight, I know what I need to do but need some motivation

I’m not but he’s spent all day talking with me today. Reassuring me, lifting me back up again, telling me it’s ok and to trust myself and that I don’t have to use callipers and damage my mental health. That I need to take some time and allow myself to eat. He is a wonderful, kind, genuine person.

This breaks my heart to read. I remember when it all kicked off with him and an ex-affiliate who had the balls to stick up for herself and Preece, that someone said they were in the 'bulk group' and were pretty much left to their own devices. No coaching and advised to use calipers. I was never going to get to that level but I'd had enough by the time he called time on the calorie clubs . X

Yeah it’s all absolute nonsense and lies. I got to a point where I felt like I couldn’t even eat this week, like I don’t know what to eat, is it too much, not enough? I’ll only know if I humiliate myself with callipers in my underwear. I feel empowered and like myself again now. I’m going to actually sleep tonight. I didn’t weigh myself, I didn’t log my steps I had fun and laughed and ate a decent amount that wasn’t prescribed to me, especially knowing how it just becomes guesswork in the end or repeatedly getting large.

if you go back a year in the bulking group, all of them have disappeared, bar the one who had put on so much weight in such a short space of time it’s scary.

Oh he’s been wonderful. I had the first good nights sleep in ages because of Peter, what a genuinely beautiful soul that man is. Talked me down from having constant panic attacks about the callipers. ❤ I went back and looked at photos of myself over the years and I look lovely. Who are they to tell anyone how their body should be. 😡

I don’t want to sound cynical but this page seems to be turning into a giant advert for Preece Nutrition! What exactly does he do which is so amazing and different from all the other diet groups?!!

You’re right actually sorry loads of us have mentioned him! I suppose any diet group is similar in that people follow whatever the plan is and get support from the group when they need it. The difference is that Pete is a qualified nutritionist (not a mickey mouse qualification either, an actual degree which I don’t think any of these other online people like RH, Munro or Courtney Black etc have.) and has also just got a PT qualification. The main difference is he is a really decent guy who personalises everything to the individual. So you’re not lumped in a category, he takes different things into account when he sets your calories and he also tweaks them anytime. He also replies to messages individually and not generically and is never unkind or unprofessional. Sorry I appreciate that sounds as though i work for him, I don’t 🤣 and I’m actually struggling to even stick to my calories at the moment because of personal circumstances but I’ve stayed in the group in the hope I can get back on track!

Thank you for adding this information. The world of ’fitness trainers and eating plans’ is hideously unregulated so to find someone who has a degree and relevant qualifications is great.

I find it hard to work out what is correct inform and what is attention seeking shock value ‘advice’. This is where I think so much damage is done.

Personally I’m confused by...carbs v protein, cardio v weights, calorie tracking v intuitive eating, 100% on plan v cheat days, water v other liquids...then Chuck in protein powder, hit work outs, calories, sugar in fruit, caffeine, weight or measurements, workouts each day, rest days, legs days, laziness, motivation, quick impact, long term sustainability.

Basically it’s like everybody shouting different information and trying to find my truth!
