I wonder how many of those followers/members are active on their pages or how many are like I was, dipping in and out but eventually signed up then after a few weeks got fed up but just never bothered to unfollow the members page. I followed them on and off for a while before signing up last summer but I clearly missed all the bullying as I’d never have joined if I’d seen that going on. I wonder how many others are the same. I have to say though, for some that I’ve noticed on there it’s like they’re part of a cult and they hang off his every word. To start with I liked his no BS approach but then I grew tired of the constant and unnecessary bad language and him coming across like a schoolboy trying to say those words to his mates for the shock value.

I like Rachel and there’s a part of me that feels sorry for her and that maybe she can’t see a way out of her relationship with him, but then I think maybe she knows exactly what he is and is willingly going along with him, and her smiley “good cop” persona is just an act 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you to those that recommended Preece Nutrition. After looking over his page I signed up late last night (1am) and even received a reply to my message before he went to bed! Have watched the videos on the members page and what a breath of fresh air Peter is; the whole group feels so calm and supportive and far removed from TeamRH. And no contracts!
You’ll be most welcome in Pete’s group. No offensive language, no putting people down, no drama j- ust a decent, knowledgeable guy giving great advice and a group of lovely people. Best of luck on your weight loss journey!

Thank you! Yes I can already see it’s very different to RH so I’m looking forward to being a part of the group.

Finding this thread has definitely gave me food for thought. I joined TRH in February and have dipped in and out of it for a few different reasons. I’m still where I started 🤦🏼‍♀️

I like the general idea of it but feel that weighing every single gram is a bit obsessive but then again maybe that’s why I’m in the state that I need to lose weight 😂. I certainly wouldn’t be calorie counting medication that allows me to function on a daily basis. That’s dangerous tit!

I haven’t seenany bullying but Richeys videos etc are very close to the bone and, I think, purely for the shock factor a lot.

one thing I really don’t like is the videos of non qualified people doing the workouts etc -who says what they are doing is effective, correct or actually worth your time?

I find them incredibly negative. Their whole business model is based on calories, put downs & digs. Excuses this, excuses that, everyone's lazy blah blah. Yes sometimes there will be excuses and sometimes there will be reasons that are beyond anyone's control. I can't relate to anyone so narrow minded.

I think a lot of the people in the group struggle because they’re (often single) parents, multiple jobs / working shifts along with lots of carers and people with health issues. Then they get yelled at, a crappy app, want to leave and now they’re going to end up with debt collector abuse and potential credit rating issues. It doesn’t sound like helping people / making lives better.

Also - what medication are people concerned about calories in? 🙀

I’m another who joined a long time ago and just found it too joyless and while you get consumed about every calorie / macros, it consumes your life.

Finding this thread really interesting.

I’m a current member of Team RH but currently paying £6.99 a month for absolutely nothing as I realised very early on that it wasn’t for me. I was initially drawn to the common sense approach and I know a number of people who have lost work through the programme but the tracking and daily weigh ins felt OTT and were reminiscent of things I did a few years ago when I didn’t have a very healthy relationship with food/weight. I keep meaning to cancel my monthly payment but I can’t remember when I signed up and if I’m tied into a contract.

I don’t know where exactly they’re from but I think R & R are fairly local to me. I actually saw Rachael in a supermarket once and she is teeny tiny in real life. I couldn’t resist having a peek into her basket and as you’d probably expect, it contained loads of large free yoghurt, chicken and other forms of protein. Utterly joyless! I was dying to sneak her a pie and some doughnuts! 🤪

I see unhappy people who diet to silly lengths like Richie and Rachael, then telling everyone else to diet to unhappy lengths (may not be exact words but feel that is their approach). They go absolutely nowhere and have no social life (through their own choosing) and yet try to say they are down to earth/relatable.

Anyone actually know what happened between RH and Preece? I've only seen it alluded to on both sides, what actually happened?

I want to know this too. I'm considering signing up with Preece, what's the plan like in comparison to Team RH?
I found them pretty useless. Can use mfp & watch better exercise videos on YouTube for free.

I don't know details and it doesn't do any good dragging it up but Ibhave been in Pete's group from the beginning, he didn't charge for the first 4 months! Was a member of Team RH before that.

Re joining Preece. There are 3 plans relaxed, lifestyle and I'm sorry I can't remember the other.
Relaxed you just have your calories and don't have to think about macros, just stick to your calories and do your steps. The difference is you tell Pete how many steps you will be doing and then he gives you the calories.

You can message Pete anytime, no question is judged or treated like you are a nuisance and he sends you a voice note. He is supportive and understanding.

The other plans do include you hitting your macros I think (am on relaxed plan so haven't looked too much at the other 2 plans) but Pete let's you decide which plan suits you best and you can change if you want to one of the other plans.

The group is supportive and I do love Pete's approach I never dared ask for help in team rh but Pete is understanding that we all have stuff in our lives that we have to work around. He understands it is not easy to break bad habits/relationships with food and genuinely helps you.

Only you can decide if Preece Nutrition is for you, maybe message Pete on the Preece page and have a chat with him to see if you feel it will be right for you.

Exactly this, they’re not juggling 2 jobs doing long hours at a desk, they haven’t got kids or people they’re caring for, they basically step/work out/eat/talk for a living so it’s their job rather than something to fit around everything else

With the occasional visit to his nana....

It is nice to see that other people feel the same, that group has become more and more cult-like and they literally have one mode and method. I found it amusing at first, but all the shouting and swearing became old very quickly. I am a grown woman not a 15yr old boy🙄

Pete actually explained to me why he left when I messaged him & asked - it was the way people were treated, the fakeness etc, it was a very toxic environment to work in.

I think I’ll join his group when the kids are back at school. He seems like a nice chap.

Yeah I agree, was more curious to know if Team RH had been up to no good.

Thanks, I'll maybe give a message. It definitely sounds like you actually get something for your money & more support. I can't believe Team RH get away with how they speak to the people who pay their wage.

That really shows someones strength of character. Good on him!

I signed up to Preece Nutrition earlier this week after being a TeamRH member and first impressions are that the Preece Nutrition group feels a lot less chaotic, it just feels calm, and everyone is supportive and helpful. I never posted or commented on the TeamRH page because I didn’t feel comfortable doing so and didn’t want to become the subject of one of Richie’s rants, but I’ve done both on Preece and I’ve not even been on there a week yet! Peter is lovely; he says he’s available between 9am and 10pm (I think) but when I first signed up (late at night) I sent a message and he replied at 1:30am! Said he saw it before he went to bed so thought he’d just reply. I’ve messaged a couple times since and he’s always replied personally by voice note; you’d never get that with RH unless you were one of their favoured members maybe.

As someone above said there’s different plans, relaxed (calorie counting only) and lifestyle (calorie counting and macros) - I didn’t see an option of a third plan though? - and you either pay £4.99pm or £49.99 for the year but no contracts, though I’m not sure if they’d refund you if you signed up for the year then cancelled, I didn’t check as I’ve signed up on a month by month basis for now.

I'm really tempted by Preece Nutrition after reading all this! My bf was a bit  when I mentioned it as he's been through the mill with me with SW, WW etc 🤪 problem is I'm a bit predisposed to getting overly obsessed with diet, and with all the stresses of lockdown and not being able to see family etc I've just basically let myself go and put on nearly a stone on top of what I already wanted to lose as I thought better this way than making the situation worse by getting OCD about what I'm eating.

The plan sounds really sensible though and like he's understanding of you actually having a life and not having to be 100% 'perfect' all the time. I'm going to try and go it alone the next 4 weeks using MFP and going to the gym and see how I get on. Have set my cals as 1600 a day as I think it's realistic. In the past I've gone for 1200 which is just too low and you end up having a massive blow out given half a chance. Do feel like I could do with some guidance though, the first plan just being calories rather than macros sounds best as I spend a lot of time away from home when I'm working so it's really difficult to keep up with macros!
