I am just wondering if anyone here knows what happened to Astrid?

She was known as Astrid Francizka if I remember correctly and went to Cambridge. She had a youtube channel and instagram. I watched her a lot a couple of years ago and really liked her videos. She was friends with PaigeY and appeared in her videos as well.

Then I sort of forgot about studytube for a while and also had a new youtube channel. I just recently thought of her and tried to find her but she seems to be gone. I can't find anything on youtube or instagram.

Did she delete her account or just change her name? Can she still be found somewhere? Or if she deleted it does anyone know why?

I will miss her book reviews.

Looking online the first hit is Astrid Godfrey on LinkedIn, maybe she married?
Looking on Facebook she’s studying at Cambridge Medieval and Renaissance literature.

Thanks! I believe that Francizska is her middle name that she used? Not sure, though. So maybe she did get married or maybe it is just her actual surname.

Have you been able to find her channel anywhere? I guess she deleted it because I also can't find it using Godfrey. Too bad she was a really nice studytuber and not toxic or stressful to watch.

I don't know if I remember correctly, I think the last time I watched her channel she was about to get into law school and before that I guess it was something with literature so that makes sense! Must have been her undergraduate's.

Godfrey has always been her last name as far as I remember.
Interesting to hear she went back to literature as I’m pretty sure she finished the Law course?

Yes, she did finish the law course. Now she is doing a MPhil, I believe, I checked her Linkedin yesterday.

Do you know why she deleted everything, did she ever explain it?

No. I stopped watching her and didn’t even realize she was gone tbh.

Francizska is her middle name. Her mum was Polish or of Polish origin, that's the reason why. I guess that, like Holly Gabrielle, she chose her middle name as her "brand" or "influencer name" instead of her surname for privacy reasons. I was very hooked by her content as well. She was always very open about mental health, and I remember she made a live Q&A on YT once where she even answered a couple of my questions regarding depression and BPD. In a couple of videos she mentioned that she wanted to become a lawyer, hence her law course, but she always mentioned that while looking for trainee contracts she wanted to pursue a Masters in Literature. Ibz Mo did something similar, he finished his law course and then studied a Masters in Education in Oxford, I guess to cultivate themselves but still, those are very expensive courses taking into consideration they will be of no use in their future legal careers.

EDIT: PS. I also miss her content, I hope she's well.

Does anyone follow study with Kate? First year of sixth form. She does 6 a levels, 4 at school and 2 she's doing herself (although one is her first language so she'll finish that this year). French, Spanish, biology and chemistry at school. Russian and maths she's teaching herself. She wants to do medicine at Cambridge.
Some days she studies till 12amish and wakes up 5amish to study. She also does a lot of sports usually but had a dodgeball accident that required surgery a few months ago and since has been fainting/unwell a lot. Meaning she missed a lot of school so has been trying to catch up with what she missed and basically teach herself a lot.
Currently doing mocks and she fainted during one and ended up in a&e via an ambulance. She also does extra stuff like volunteering at a hospital and some other research project that she's just applied for the next stage to continue.
Don't know how she does so much no wonder her health is suffering

No I don't but it sounds like she's trying to do too much 😬

just looked at her because I wanted the drama and there’s something unlikable about her?

I understand her doing maybe 5 alevels only because Russian is her first language and she'll finish it a year before the others. Then doing the 4 at school should've done biology, chemistry, maths and either Spanish or French at school and left the other one all together

She has a post about what she wants to do and mentions taking a year to do medieval languages. I think she just enjoys languages

Fields like medicine and law offer fairly linear pathways that draws a lot of young people in and I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a case of that plus feeling like she has to meet expectations

But if she really wants to do medicine surely is it not better to focus on the subjects she needs to do medicine and still do one language (plus russian) than push herself to do 2. I think she said she chose maths outside of school as she'd prefer to do languages in school to have the speaking element more but would it not have been better to do a language outside of school maybe in a night class or something so she'd still get that speaking element and do maths, the subject she actually needs in school

To be fair I’m not even sure what the point of Russian as a qualification is when it’s her first language. It’s an easy qualification for her, sure, but that’s about it

Just saw her talking about doing maths as a private candidate and I’m surprised that predicted grades from private companies are even accepted, especially by unis who interview for their subjects. I suppose it all comes down to exams but interviews seem like such a pain to conduct that I’d think you’d want to narrow the pool down by quite a bit, but then i remember reading that Cambridge interviews something like 80% of applicants so

I guess if it's probably going to be easy might as well get it.
I assume that private company ones are usually from people who have gone back to studying rather than sixth form students so could be the only way older students could do them

Definitely leaning towards toxic with Kate following her latest video where she seems to dismiss that basically studying like it’s a full time job isn’t affecting her health - of course it is, especially if she doesn’t give herself time off to rest

I wonder what happens with these study tubers once they go into full time work. I miss having the free time I had at their age but the working week is probably shorter than whatever hours they claim to be doing

Especially Kate have you seen the videos she has done when comparing her day vs other study tokers. She is always up a lot earlier than they all are studying and rarely does anything but study, staying up later whereas most of them have time doing something else as well. Sometimes Kate's non study activity is watching a film in the language she studying that she has to watch as part of her studying so not really not studying

are there any interesting studytubers right now? back in the day i used to watch Astrid Francizka, Elena Handtrack, Eve Bennett, Eve Cornwell, Unjaded Jade, Ruby Granger, Holly Gabrielle, PageY... I miss watching some Uni day in my life sort of videos, or productivity videos, either at Oxbridge or any other uni. Masters or PhD are fine, in fact, they'd be closer in age to me than any undergrad student

i know that right now there's Just me Alina at Oxford, and there's this guy on Tiktok called Felix Rawlinson who is pursuing a PhD at Cambridge whilst also rowing professionally, but it's not the same to watch tiktoks than watch longer content like Youtube videos if you know what i mean :/
