Im still wondering if they are just going to rest it for a year. Gives them more time to get it right before a big relaunch.
this is honestly what they SHOULD do - the show would benefit from it and they get so much time to regroup, try out new hosts, recruit new pros, rethink the judges - by the time it came back in 2027 everyone would be genuinely excited for it (maybe

It makes sense from a creativity standpoint, but not from a financial one. Outside of replacing it with The Traitors in the same spot they aren't going to get another show with the same viewing figures. And you just know that the Daily Fail would have their knives out for whatever came after it, claiming the BBC is done.
If they were taking a year off they would have had to announce it way before now. It would look like a cancellation rather than a planned break if they announced it at this stage and the already terrible press the show gets would get even worse.
They wouldn't gain anything from taking a year off, it's still by far the biggest show aside from Traitors. It doesn't even seem like the format is being drastically altered, there will just be some new faces. And the pro lineup changes aren't going to be that noticeable to the vast majority of the audience anyway since no fan favourites are leaving.
Just me that never gets the logic of this whole "they should rest it for a year" thing?
What's actually gonna happen if they do so? They'll just give their viewers time to find something else to watch in the fall instead and the viewing figures will have an even bigger drop when it comes back. It's not even like the show would've been gone for 5-10 years for it to have a bit of a "oh, strictly is coming back, lets check it out again" nostalgia effect. I'm not even gonna go in on the shitstorm that the press will create if they do so.
If they want to switch things up, try something new to improve it etc. etc., they don't need 2 years to think about it, they can just do it for the next series, which for me would be the right moment to do so with the new hosts coming it, frame all of it as a "new era" of the show beginning and all that, change the set as well, try out new themes instead of same tired 3-4 ones they've been doing for 10 years or however long it's been (icons week can get in the bin too even if it's a newer one, it doesn't work).
And even if you assume the break between the series is not enough time for them to think properly about what can be done and they need more for some creative ideas to come out, they can just start making plans for a revamp in lets say 2027 while just keeping it the same as usual in the meantime.
And as much as the press bang about the viewing figures going down, that's basically happening to every show bar the Traitors really just because the viewing habits are changing nowadays across the board. Even with those figures going lower, there's still really nothing else to replace it with in the schedule, it's not just the Saturday live show, they still get very good figures even for the results show and you'll also have to replace the ITT slots too. It makes no sense to shelve it for a year in any sense to me.

Resting a show for a year is what they say when they try to save face on cancelling it. X Factor/Saturday Night Takeaway both got the resting for a year treatment. Then never came back.
They also need to get new singers while they’re at it because cat strangler #4 butchering woman’s work by Kate Bush won’t cut it anymore
It pains me to say this but I think the male are okay, it's the female singers who are bleeping awful.
I think the worst is Hailey (might have her name wrong) How she's earned a living as a singer for years is astounding. It's also astounding how they have got rid of good singers like Lance Eddington but she's still there.
I feel bad singling her out but it genuinely takes away from the enjoyment of show when she's screeching in the bad ground.
She's well in with Dave Arch so while he's there so shall she be.

I have never liked Fleur, neither her or Jeanette are good at live, most of the ITT shows are recorded, as is often shown by them not being up to date with the latest news on occasions. A two hour long show needs someone who can speak off the cuff as well as follow an auto cue. Helpful if they know something about dancing but I don't think Claudia or Tess ever did. Bruce was an old school hoofer but he had such a great way with words. Having said that I do like ITT choreography corner, especially when Kevin or Neil have done it, also it is nice to see training footage and once a week catch up with the couples in a more relaxed setting. Not sure how a pod cast could do this when a lot of the viewing public who love the live show, may not be computer users. Would love to see Kevin and Neil used in some way. Their knowledge shines out.

There’s no need for it to take a year off; there were similarly seismic changes in 2010 and they were able to put one of the best series out.
