It’s me, I said that. And yes, it was the nanny comment that seemed routed in the 1950s. And it doesn’t matter what gender you are saying it, in fact it’s actually worse if you’re a woman as why are degrading mums who pay for childcare?
Completely agree. It's difficult enough for women as it is without all this internalised misogyny.

Every woman is different it just depends on the individual. I know some people think her being an active dancer means she will bounce back quicker but that’s not always the case. If she does feel herself struggling I hope she doesn’t force it but like I said only she knows that. If she does come back and starts to feel that it’s too much maybe she won’t get a partner or if it really comes down to it a female pro from the bench could step in for her.

I'm not a Diane fan but jings they attitude she should stay home and look after her baby is jaw dropping in the 21st century.
I liked Luba and Michelle and think they didnt get a decent chance on the show. Karen hasn't given a hoot about the show or celebrities for years.

To be honest I only put the bit about the baby calling the nanny mamma in because I am just reading The Housemaid's Secret. Sorry about that. Its a great follow up by Freida McFadden. I am not saying Dianne should stay home and look after the baby. I am actually saying she is lucky to have the choice financially. And I do not begrudge her that either, but one day she may regret things she missed.

The nanny comment is not routed in the 1950's at all. It really was the throw away part of what I said. It is actually from the book I am reading The Housemaid's Secret by Freida McFadden a very modern book by the way. It was not really meant to be taken as seriously as you have. Dianne is lucky to be in a financial position to have a choice, and to have a career she likes. Its not quite the same to have no choice with a job you don't. I certainly do not begrudge her either she has worked hard for her career. I said my comment would be controversial. What I really meant was one day she might look back and regret what she has missed.
After watching the Claudia Winkleman chat show, I'm wondering whether she'll regret leaving. I can't see this lasting, it's not great. It makes Jonathan Ross' show feel good.

Dianne will 100% up for a partner this year. If she was more than happy to be partnered whilst pregnant, this year will be like any other for her. I think these dancers know that they have to make hay while the sun shines, nothing is guaranteed and their future on the show is limited time anyway.
I liked all three, and I agree we just didn't get to see Luba and Michell's full potential. I think Karen was good with the less talented celebs and was happy to do kinda daft routines that suited their level, and made their participation enjoyable for them.
I still wish Harry had been with a different partner, I think most of the others would have worked him harder and got more from him. (I also always enjoyed Karen's resting witch face when listening to the judges, especially Shirley.
)I haven't seen her new show but Claudia has other irons in the fire. The Piano and of course Traitors UK. I honestly think she and Tess chose a good time to leave. And while I am sure it's a well paid gig and all that, I don't think she will regret it.
