Apparently not having a TikTok account is somehow a sackable offence…
Wouldn't want to be there when that conversation happens.
I’m not sure the main demographic of Strictly viewers even know what TikTok is.
I guess they’re trying to be down with the kids… but they’re ignoring the fact that the members of the young audience who’d be interested in Strictly are already watching… so they’re trying to attract a demographic that isn’t there…
and I get wanting to broaden your appeal and all… but not at the expense of the loyal audience.
I am wondering if this new TikTok focus is why Tess and Claudia decided to move on…
With the best will in the world I don't think Dianne was ever going to really change
She's never given SAHM focus on family and baby vibes at any point
If they're not already being supported by a night nurse and nanny I think its incoming very soon so that will sort out what's going to happen practically
Strictly is a big commitment I'm guessing six days a week and really long hours its possible she could accept returning but for group numbers only, Nancy doing the 12 hour days and Di enjoying baby's first year soaking it all up is more logical as money isn't the issue but I don't think its what she's ever wanted and who's going to sack an innocent new mother.
I know I will get flack for this, but, Dianne is a first time mother so it is all new to her. Bowie only a couple of weeks old will be 5 months old when they start filming group numbers. I know that with their money and support network she is going to have plenty of help, but I know from experience that a lot of women who can afford it have the full maternity leave of at least a year, just to enjoy the babies firsts. And if she has a celeb partner it is pretty full on. We do not know if she will be coming back this year to Strictly but everything I have seen seems to suggest she will, especially from Vito who has heavily hinted they will be touring next year so both will want the publicity of a good run on the show. I would have thought that she would take a hiatus to explore moving on to a new career. I know her and Joe have been filming for something recently. After all Dianne is 37 I think the same age as Luba and Nadya who are leaving. Michelle is a spring chicken in comparison at 31 why let her go.
I know that a lot of mothers will take a years maternity leave but they're going back to work for 5 days a week for the majority of the year. I know Strictly is full on but it's 3 and half ish months of the year and if you get someone who is likely to be out early than it's not that full on for the whole time. Joe also has a job where he can work from home or if Dianne is partnered with someone in Manchester for example Joe can bring the baby and stay for a couple of days, there are ways for them to make the situation work, after all Nadiya has made it work the entire time she's been on the show with probably less than support Dianne has.
As for Michelle, I don't know why the producers never gave her a proper chance with a celeb, I thought she did a good job with Jamie but she did only have 1 partner in the four series she was on. Even if Dianne had decided not to go back there's no guarantee that the producers would have kept any of the women who have been let go, I'd actually argue that they would have kept Karen over any of the others. I just don't think it's fair to expect that someone should give up something that they love just because they've had a baby. No one was saying this when Gorka's or Neil's little ones were born.

of course there’s an issue! People in here act like she tortures puppies in her down time. Excuses made for lots of other people’s favs on here for all sorts of things but if Dianne does the exact same thing- absolutely not.. how dare she!! Just very predictable and comical…I do not dislike Dianne or think she tortures anything. But I know what it feels like to have to go back to work through financial necessity. With difficulty obtaining affordable help. She is so lucky to be able to take time off. Even six months and come back next year. Does she want her child to call a nanny mammaAgree with all that… but it’s Dianne

Just because she has money doesn't mean she has to stop working, Gorka and Neil didn't get this attitude when their kids were born. Also. the baby has a dad, they have family around them. Also, just because a child has a nanny/ childminder/ goes to creche doesn't mean they forget who their parents are.

As already been explained further up by someone else- most mums go back to work after a year for the whole year.. and then the year after that and so on… Dianne may be going back when he’s 5/6 months old but it’s 4 months work and then she can choose what she wants to do for the rest of the year- whether that be spending time with her son or other work. She will essentially get a lot more time at home than women who get a year off but are then back to work full time until their children go to school. So I’m not really too sure what your point is?
Also.. Joe works from home… so he will be looking after the baby- which is absolutely no different to the conventional thing of what normally happens- the dad gets two weeks off work and then he’s straight back to work. It’s just the fact it’s the female going back to work in this instance (however after 5 months not 2 weeks) and the dad staying at home. In this day and age I’m not too sure what the issue with this is? To say things like does she want her son to call the nanny mum is… yeah.. I’ll leave it that..
And yeah, I think Diane is a tool but I'm not gonna ag her off for being a working mum.

Exactly. Also, the thing of a child calling a childminder mum just doesn't sit right with me. I don't have kids but I know lots of people who do and they already feel bad enough leaving their kids with someone while they go to work without comments like that.plus she’s working from, what, september to december with most evenings free and can probably train in a place very close to her home?!
