One of the things I love about Strictly is that try as some of the celebs might to manage their image, the sheer exhaustion of weeks of dance practice means that they cannot stop their true selves coming out. I was fully geared up to find Adam deeply irritating but he turned out to be nowhere near as annoying as expected abs actually quite a sweetheart . Luba seems much smitten with him and his family. Conversely Angela R seems not to be all sweetness and light. Her reaction to the judges scoring was hilarious!
To be honest, I’d be amazed at anyone thinking Angela R was sweetness and light. She was a female journalist in the 1960’s. shes as tough as old boots.

I’ve heard stories of Angela phoning the offices of an org where she was a patron and just tearing the ear off whoever happened to answer the phone. It was a rite of passage to be ‘ripponed’.

I'm yet to catch up but Nikitas sequined top...what shade would you say it was? I've a skirt I'm trying to colour match with & his top would be perfect. 😆
Obviously I need to re-watch as I was so bloody distracted with said sequined number but I did worry about him skidding under that table....

Ellie now bookies favourite to win with Nigel second and Bobby third! I think one of either Nigel or Bobby will miss out on the final with Layton taking their place, probably more likely to be Bobby.

If we all pull together, we absolutely can manifest an Ellie/Layton/Nigel final!

I’ve been pondering the tour line up too.
Presume Nigel, Ellie and Layton are a given.
My other 2 possibles- Ange S, Annabel,
Defo not - Krishnan (Lauren on tour)
Would love Adam to do it to give Luba a chance to shine but not sure about his health
Ange R surely couldn’t cope with the pace, leaving Kai without a partner again. He can’t sub for Gorka again this time and AJ will never do it , so he’s relegated to backing dancer.
backing girls - Jowita, Nancy, Michelle
Backing boys - Neil, Jake , Graz or Kai?
Surely Bobby is an absolute must, from the show’s POV?
I wonder if Angela S could manage it with wee kids, though Helen did last year

I actually feel bad for ever finding Adam annoying, I think he really is sincerely a nice person and maybe the over the top positivity/energy was just his way to try and get himself through any pain and discomfort he was in physically 💔

Yeah, no way Bobby's in the final. It's gotta be Layton!

I think he will do it but Dianne may not - she might want an extended break in Oz to be with her dad and to be as far away from creepy Knobby as possible.

It's definitely not something I would associate with her anyway. 😁
If any of the two in the dance off was sweetness and light, I would say Adam was nearer the mark.

I was briefly reading the Mumsnet Strictly thread earlier and someone claimed that Kai looked annoyed / downcast when they were saved. I can't say I noticed. I think most people who are saved in the DO, are not going to start leaping around in joy because the fact is, the others on the floor at the time are the eliminated couple, and the winning couple usually go and hug them and commiserate with them. Which Angela and Kai did.

I noticed Katya was first out to join them in their final dance and to hug Luba, in particular. Lovely friendship there. Aww.

I missed most of the shows at the weekend and was just going to catch up on youtube, but I had to go back and watch Angela's reaction to bring in the dance off ('i'd like to speak to the manager') and of course, I couldn't miss 'daddy's ok!'

Bit gutted Adam has gone. I ended up quite liking him and it was nice to see someone genuinely improve. He danced better than Angela in the DO, but he clearly knew what was going to happen. Probably for the best - it looked like Luba was having to physically hold him up to stop him from collapsing while they were waiting for the judges votes ☹. At least she had a decent run this year and didn't have to dance with a human wardrobe for once

Loved that pro dance - Johannes being fabulous and then bonus Gorka 😍. Thank you Oti!

The only thing I noticed was when everyone went onto the dancefloor to join Adam and Luba in their last dance, Kai went over early on and then just stood behind Adam looking extremely stern while everyone hugged him - I only noticed because everyone normally rushes in to hug (like Katya did with Luba), and Kai just stood there like a wally 😂

From DS

Can't wait for the complaints next week, which will come no matter what he does.

If he does a flashy one full of lifts it'll be all 'ugh such a showoff, that wasn't a real Argentine Tango, just a bunch of acrobatics' like 90% of Strictly ATs don't focus on lifts, but if he does a more traditional one that focuses on AT walks, flicks etc, bet anything the same people will be all 'boring, he barely did anything, it was just walking and posing!'

Because, of course, the dance order and choreography of dances, even the ones with specialist outside choreographers is all down to Layton

I noticed that alright. Maybe he was thinking he and AR were saved unfairly, and he has had enough of AR of course he had already commiserated with them. #overthinkinghere 😁.

I think on Mumsnet they were talking about when there was just the four of them on the floor.

I think whatever Layton does the haters are going to hate (and IMO it has sod all to do with his dancing) so they might as well have fun and go for it.

Kai did briefly make reference to trolls on ITT last week. Maybe it's been getting a bit full on and it's getting him down a bit? Like he knows what will be coming after the elimination because they were saved? Just a theory.

The comments on the BBC post about Adam's elimination are going in HARD on Angela. Don't know if it's a build-up of frustration at judges' perceived favouritism over weeks, as I find it hard to get worked up about Adam being sent home when he's basically on an intravenous drip and a hair away from withdrawing.
Also, no matter what my feelings on celebs or pros (looking at you FR!) I have never commented publicly on them outside here. People need to get a grip.

Remember when people went ballistic when Mike Bushell was saved over Cake Beg Cath? Sending him death threats and everything. Obviously she was incredibly popular, that's why she landed in a DO in week 6 🙄

I'm working on this already, all fingers and toes crossed here. It's hard to get anything done but who cares. These are the sacrifices that must be made. 😁

That would be my dream final, and tbh, I would be happy with any one of the three of them to win.
And I love all three pros too. Bring it onnnnnnnn 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞
