The more I see of him on Dragons’ Den, the less I like him. And I didn’t like him to start with.

I hope they get rid of him at the end of this series. I’m getting sick of Touker too.

The Times have called him out and supported a real black entrepreneur (Timothy !).
You know its damning and serious when The Times calls you out!!! They wouldnt do it without evidence not like the Daily Mail, this is going to hurt his ego!!!

I just don't get it. How is anything he does innovative or interesting?! He created a social media marketing agency - big deal. He has a popular podcast - so does literally every other man. The way people fawn over him and hold him up as this huge success is genuinely so confusing to me! What do they see?!
People who don’t want to work “normal jobs” treat him like a messiah. He’s like the guru for those who think that having a social media account makes them a digital strategist.

It’s disturbing when there are so many inspirational business people out there that people could aspire to but they blindly choose to bow at the altar of Bartlett.

And god does he lap up the adulation

So the new social media strategy is to vlog behind the scenes?!?!? Cringe
---
Also, he likes to hire young people under 25! What he couldn't find a vdieographer with a tonne of experience? Instead chooses a 21 yr old and yet again his brand lacks so much diversity he hires and has the same type of people on his team
He couldn’t handle an older person uncovering his fake identity. A younger naive person would love the kudos and keep quiet.

Can’t make my mind up about him. On Dragon’s, I like him. Breath of fresh air. But I don’t like HIM. I think he has a sly face, which he can’t help, but it’s off putting. I listened to an episode of his podcast, it felt false. He has made a success of his life, so easy to get big headed. But his big headedness is wrapped around positive messages and motivational stuff which confuses me/makes me suspicious. I also think he may not be entirely honest about his sexual leanings, which is none of my business of course. But if he is being dishonest about that it calls into question the rest of his persona. Has anyone read his book? Happy sexy millionaire, or something like that.

I’d still rather have a dragon who had experience growing, enhancing and diversifying actual businesses than someone who’s good at spotting trends. Yes he’s probably great at marketing but there’s so much more to building a successful business than advertising/sales.

For example - understanding financing/improving credit lines. Effectively managing logistic/storage lines and of course building a happy and passionate workforce.

I do think that the majority of people that go on dragons den are there for the exposure though. The older episodes were great because they were businesses with lots of different challenges -all the businesses today are more about “how do we get more sales”.

This Molly Mae shite sadly probably isn't the last we'll hear from/about the nodding dog podcast host (apart from Dragons Den) and I have a funny little feeling that like many of the hustle culture clowns he isn't exactly the height of intelligence or even ethical business practices either, is there anything solid there beyond my initial gut feelings?
I think your gut is right in telling you his ego is huge and he’s not a very nice person to be around.

With The Social Chain (the business where he made his millions) I think there was definitely an element of right place, right time but then that’s the same with many start ups which scale quickly and see huge growth. He’s also openly said that he believes in hiring people who are better than him to do the work etc but again that’s nothing new and part of being a CEO…

He’s recently launched a new venture: some kind of lifestyle / wellness app I think (but didn’t pay much attention to it tbh) so I’m really interested to see if he can repeat any where near the same amount of success he did previously (and who’s money he’ll use).

He’s just an overly pretentious nob: his whole ‘I’m going eco friendly, I’ve sold my Range Rover’ which leads straight into an ad properly makes me roll my eyes.

And yep, his opening to each episode is 🙄 as well as the page turning sound effect 🤦🏻‍♀️

Blimey, that article pulled no punches.
That article was spot on. I'm being trying to find the business in this "businessman" Steve

Anyways I am watching the JaackMate interview and Steven said the DUMBEST THING I'VE EVER HEARD

"The reason we are here is because our ancestors struggled forward. And their desires to keep striving is the reason they built these empires and overcame.....is it conceivable that they left a message within our genetic code that says 'You too shall struggle forward' and they've kind of predisposed us to forward motion"

That's verbatim BTW
He chats so much its unreal. I normally block him our to hear the person being interviewed but that load of bs was like what the f. Especially bringing our ancestors when he disassociates from his black side. Get in the bin Bartlett

Do you think he's straight? I'm a bit on the fence about him being interested in girls.
I didn't wanna say in my original post in case I offended someone lol but no, I don't think he straight. Purely from how many times he says 'my girlfriend', or 'I have a girlfriend'.

The guests faces make me laugh when he starts talking about himself, you can tell they're thinking 'what the hell has that got to do with the conversation?' 😂

What's most annoying about this is that I can no longer trust anything ZOE says. I know their podcast has always been meant to getting people into the subscription health service, but it was a good free resource. Bartlett now, and previously Tim Spector's nonsense about you should be avoiding SPF in the winter so not to get a vitamin D defiecency, and I can't listen to a single thing they say now.
Tim Spector has said so many ridiculous things that I have no trust in anything he's saying. Nutrition expert my ass. He also says a lot of things that vilifies specific foods which is just such rubbish. No one food is going to make or break your health. I honestly believe anything he says is just marketing to steer people towards his products rather than genuine scientific advice

Daily Mail had a very negative article about him yesterday. Wonder who is behind this sudden focus on him? Lots of negativity recently. His backstory as as many holes as an Edam cheese.
