Most kids his age always try’s to play with doors, she was watching him. I know my kids when they were rexs age loved to try pull at the doors etc.
Babies are relentless and if they want to touch something they will just keep going back. I’m on my second child (he’s 9 months) and I just monitor what he’s doing and try and play until he learns. There’s literally no point her keep moving him away from the door cause he will just keep going back. Better in my opinion to show them what to do/teach them safely because the more you move them away the more they want to get there. We have double doors in my living room with a loose catch and he literally sticks his tiny finger inbetween the doors to open them.
I have to agree with this... I've never made a point of not allowing anything like this... they only have to learn about it later on.
Doors they've played with and opened and closed, it's how they learn how they work.
Same with stairs, they went up and down from early on. In 8 years and 2 kids we've only had 2 accidents because they've known from early! No stair gates etc.
Kids will be kids! Stacey has some really irritating ways and does obscure things. Her food choices for the children are weird. But i think on the whole shes a good mother and I dont really doubt her parenting at all
I love the ptwm thread lol, god our new friend would keel over on there I’ve trapped my fingers in a door when I was younger, not due to playing with a door but a gust of wind blowing the door shut, don’t actually know how it happened (I was a clumsy child) anyway I had very broken & bruised fingers so it just puts me on edge, I have door knobs on my doors, kids couldn’t work out how to use them luckily!

Thought I was going to be the only one that wasn’t gonna fear for his wee fingers when he was trying to open the door.. I agree though. It’s all about monitoring and them learning how to do things isn’t it. Saying that, my son accidentally got his finger clipped in a door when he was younger, safe to say he learnt not to touch the hinges and only the handle very quickly.
