Led By Donkeys covered his school days and what he was like, no one would be walking down the street singing Hitler Youth songs if they weren’t anti-semitic. He also held a hatred of Jewish pupils at the school, it’s quite frightening how he’s managed to pretend this part of his history doesn’t exist

What has been happening in NI as I’ve looked on twitter and not seen anything? That’s not to say later on there wouldn’t be trouble but that’s a normal weekend for us!

This is the point I was trying to make last night.
People seem to be more incensed by Islam than they do by immigration in general.

So much that before things kicked off, I was quite sad to see some black people online telling each other to stay out because they weren't coming for us (as a form of self preservation!).

Well look how that turned out.

It's because Islamaphobia is so rife and so normalised that some people thought that level of anger was fine.

It's not that long ago MPs were accusing other politicians of being controlled by Islamists.

Edit: other forms of discrimination are also embedded and normalised but Islamaphobia seems to be the "trend".

I don't think it's fine for people to be attacked on the basis of religion but I think basically most religions the more extreme they get the more fascist they are. I think many people also feel uncomfortable with the antisemitism shown by some members of the faith and they feel emboldened to say it because our establishment allows it for some reason. Jews make up such a small minority in the UK 0.5 percent yet they have been targeted by in many UK mosques there's loads of videos.

There are a few reasons why I believe the Palestine flag has made an appearance in some of the anti-racist protests.

1) the killing/treatment of Palestinians appears to route from the views/opinions that they’re not people/humans worthy of living/living unpressed. Therefore, since a lot of these far right people view Muslims as the “enemy” the two kind of go hand in hand. I think if the far right has only targeted black people (and not Muslims) you might not be seeing the Palestine flag in some of these counter protests - but that last part is just my opinion

2) the Palestine protests have been happening for months (largely peacefully) with all walks of people coming together to march. A lot of these counter protests are being filmed by the media so this is just another way to get some exposure to the cause as such.
Likewise I imagine that is why some others decided to bring out the Israeli flag - they will want to draw expose to the poor hostages

I’m not getting into the ins/outs but I just wanted to explain the reasonings behind why you may see them in the protests

edited just to add - the fact anyone is standing on the racist side of the protests and raising an Israeli flag is baffling to me: the far right will likely turn on/be abusive to those that are Jewish too. A lot were doing the nazi salute and have nazi tattoos

They haven't been largely peaceful though that's what I'm fed up with there's loads of chants of river to the sea , kill the yahud. Preaching in mosques about killing Jews . The MENA region is rife with antisemitism and Jews have virtually disappeared. Yet the SWP try to make out the radicals are downtrodden, there's hardly any Jews left they make up 0.5 percent of the UK population yet you would believe from the marches they are everywhere. It's also more likely with all the abuse they are getting they will move to Israel.! I actually back Israel pulling out , they could do an undercover operation to get rid of the leaders.

I'm fed up that the SWP don't understand the mentality of the radicals , it didn't matter if Israel said ok let's all live together , the Jews would be slaughtered because of the demographic differences. There can't be a one state solution because there would be another Holocaust and as the marches show Jews aren't really safe in many countries. The SWP are antisemitic they perceive the Jews as "rich" an old trope so they deserve everything they get. Marx hated the Jews.

These riots weren't about Palestine it was some thugs looking for an excuse to loot and cause mayhem. I'm sick of to death of this issue being brought up ALL the time, there's war and death everywhere. In Sudan so many are dying but because Jews aren't to blame no one is protesting.

I sincerely doubt people set fires to mosques because of anti semitism.

The argument might hold weight if Jewish people were doing the attacks but it's British people "defending" British values which means Christianity before it does Judaism.

That would also be suggesting all anti semitism in this country comes from Muslims.

I've actually just watched a video on YouTube and seen footage of bin Lady in Middlesbrough and I take back my opinion that her punishment was too harsh. The silly cow got what she deserved honestly. Stealing a bin from some poor defenceless lady and then lighting it on fire and trying to ram the police with it is just disgusting.
These little thugs that partook in these riots deserve every sentence they get.

And to try and use the deaths of innocent little girls as a reason to behave in this manner is sick.

What minute is the bin lady in? Sorry I’m being lazy though there was a guy 14 mins in from Newcastle who says he goes to football matches and holds a flag against knife crimes etc. he seemed unhappy with the ones rioting as he seems a genuine bloke.

I think the thing is rightly or wrongly there has been a stirring pot (probably not the correct term but hopefully you get what I mean) about two tier policing over the last few months. I think the Southport massacre was the straw that broke the camel’s back. The prior government have let this fester and people have got angry. This doesn’t mean I agree with any of this. I’m just sitting in my living room speculating on the causes but I probably shouldn’t as speculation is a crime now.

Im sorry but if the Jews did to me what Israel are currently doing to Palestine, I’d want to kill them too.

What I don’t get is why some people seem to be so upset and what is being said about Jews, but not outraged and what is actually happening to Palestine. Seem to get so upset over words Sticks and Stones and all that.

The bringing in Palestine or Israel flags to this issue is absolutely ridiculous, I think I said the same a few threads back. The bigots flying the Israel flags will be against Jews next week, imo it’s just because Palestinians are brown / Muslim and some of those flying the Palestine flag at these current protests are only doing so to virtue signal or because they think it’s cool.

Like Grifty said, in NI they are now seen as sectarian. Catholic / Protestant Celtic / Rangers and now Palestine / Israel it would be laughable if the actual situation wasn’t so sad.

If you watch from about 28 minutes you will see them. Yes that guy seemed actually nice bless him.
There's also a man around 35 minutes who had his car completely smashed up. I feel so sorry for these people having to live around such scumbags. They also terrorised the poor girlfriend of this journalist while she waited for him in the car.
