My daughter has just informed me that there is a protest apparently planned at the location of an immigration lawyer’s offices tomorrow and I need some advice. I will be attending on the counter protest side and was going to make a banner saying SHOE ZONE IS ROUND THE CORNER but not sure if I should as

a. I don’t want to encourage looting and
b. I don't think many of them will get it

There's a group on Tiktok posting about peaceful protests in Scotland this week. They aren't posting exact locations in each town yet and are saying they'll confirm an hour before meet time. Most likely to be outside hotels though. Scottish Defence Group on tiktok. Lots of people in comments posting the names of the hotels housing asylum seekers and saying they will attend. Already seen a counter protest advertised for the one closest to me.

We had protests at a hotel near us every weekend for months last year and they did stay peaceful but I worry with how everything is going right now that people will use it as an excuse to escalate things.

I think it's funny but too distinctive and you may bring undue attention on yourself. Things are going to be heated as it is and in times like that humour can make people angry 🩷 for your safety, I don't think it's a good idea but I appreciate what you are doing!!

The last few days have shown that every country, culture and peoples have their flaws. Including the ones who like to point the finger and sit on their high horses.

We are human and maybe as people we should be much more aware of our own flaws and stop assuming our way is better. It seems like historically that is what has been a problem.

It is really funny that you mention shoe zone because it has memories for me though I have no clue what it actually means (can you tell!?) and maybe others can deduct from it and cause a bit more of a fuss towards you.

Tbh I wouldn’t. These people are unreasonable as it is - I wouldn’t be trying to antagonise them further.

Interesting they're targeting lawyers now... I don't know if this has been discussed already, but it did cross my whether Tommy Robinson had deliberately posted that screen shot of the conversation with his solicitor the other day. Let's face it, everything that man does is calculated.

Out of interest, has Braverman raised her head yet to make a comment. The original rioters were her core audience so hopefully she now realises that they absolutely dislike her.

I mean, I dislike her as well but please believe me when I say it has absolutely nothing to do with the colour of her skin, rather the darkness of her very small heart.

Nothing from her on 'X' for 6 days - not that I am interested in anything she might say.

If this happens it will be targeting lawyers who provide immigration advice and probably more branches of Citizens Advice who do the same. It's terrorism pure and simple.

What would be the reason for targeting lawyers?

As @Moth said some lawyers specialise in immigration advice and asylum claims.
Without divulging much my OH works in housing asylum seekers and this is a very scary time. An awful lot going on.
