First time to this thread. I actually do like Sophie and appreciate her honesty, but this whole thing surrounding influencer earnings. Im sorry, but don't try and smoke screen that with feminism bullshit. Im all for #girlboss and bigging up successful females, but this influencing game is a GRAVY TRAIN and they all know it but never own up

Also don't compare to what magazines and big ad agencies get either - they pay 100s of salaries with that money and someone on a marketing team will get a normal 'average' salary, compared to an influencer who rakes it all in. So that whole argument they all use is totally invalid in my opinion.

*edit: Also I notice she didn't put a poll up on that story - I can imagine that vote would have been a landslide 'Yes you earn too much money' aside from other influencers (and maybe a few naive people) saying no lol

Germany and France are starting a second lockdown for a month. This will happen in England as well. She really is out of touch with the world. I noticed that a couple of years ago. While she was working at Asos, she had more contact with real humans and her content was great. Then she started full time blogging and stopped talking about relevant topics. I can remember that she had 3 tattoos made in one week just because she needed content

I am irritated by the constant complaining about being BOYFRIENDLESS for a whole four months and not being able to fly (fuck climate change eh?) To somewhere tropical for a good rodgering off her boyfriend, who in case we forget she hasn't seen for foir months. People have had to delay life saving treatment or not see much loved relatives / boyfriends for almost a year. But yeah, sure jer being holes up in a nice 2 bed flat with a cute puppy, access to food, still able to make a lot of money and, even get new teeth stuck on, she really has it especially hard.

Lets be real the two of them hardly really know each other.

How many pairs of jeans does one blogger need, all ahe seems to wear is that nivarna over sized t-shirt anyway.

Jimmay is returning to sophie's aching loins, to shower her with compliments, birthday presents and undivided attention followed by a much deserved holiday in the sun, as apparently international travel is a must under covid and, an even bigger must for ensuring climate change goals are met!

She deserves it.

She's been working sew hard ensuring her dear hermes courier has lots of extra parcels to bring to and, then return from casa milner. Lucky guy!

Jimmay had better pack more viagra (she mentioned on another podcast they took it together) sounds like he's going to need it! Not loke working on an oil rig might mean the bloke wants some down time?!

I wouldn't be happy with a bf forgetting my bday (2 years running) telling me not to change my hair, get fillers in my face to avoid unslightly eye bags and to top it all of by refusing to carry my bags at the airport but, maybe my expectations are too high.

Almost insulted by how much she’s been going on about transparency with editing photos. Hun you have a cosmetically altered nose, fillers all over, fake boobs and fake tan, fake eyelashes and fake hair. You don’t get credit for being ‘au naturel’ with your editing! It just is so damaging to play the ‘natural, I don’t edit’ angle because it makes impressionable girls stress they don’t look like that naturally. Neither does Sophie! She’s had £1000s of work done.

also did anyone catch her being v snobby about Botox the other week when she was having her vampire facial done? I’m biased as I get preventative Botox done but it’s the one tweakment that makes sense to me as it doesn’t change your appearance - just keeps things from deteriorating like a really effective cream would. Don’t know why all her fillers and other tweaks are fine but Botox is for saddos

I finally unfollowed today too!! Those unpopular opinions clearly unpopular with her followers haha. It’s the constant making making excuses for her actions and lack of accountability for me.

Absolutely no consideration of the negative sides of influencer culture but instead packaging it as #girlboss feminism. You’re making your money off ruining the planet and making young girls feel bad about yourself but yeah you go gurl I really do think some influencers have a good balance of influencing in fashion and beauty but also social issues but Sophie fucks it every time.

And the holiday thing is the last straw for me. I know everyone has different views on this and it’s caused tension with some of my friends as well but people going on hols right now really doesn’t sit right with me. Also I hate that she said the ‘means to escape’ line. Like, no, not everyone who is judgy about holidays is broke and bitter - we just don’t want the virus to keep surging - and you’re not escaping anything!! It’s a GLOBAL PANDEMIC hun, how do you think it spread in the first place. I have to breathe v deep when people say that and think of all the money I’ve saved not going on holidays this year and the extra luxe ones they’ll (hopefully!) buy next year.

Just because something is technically allowed (I have no idea how lip fillers and dog groomers have got round the restrictions when I know so many businesses who have had to close and are really struggling for it) doesn’t mean it’s a good idea!
