I did a solo extreme day trip to Barcelona in July. Felt safe tbf despite reading horror stories everywhere 🤣. Did a walking tour, hop on/off bus and did some shopping.

Booked another solo EDT for November to Lille (eurostar cheapy). Hoping it can't be worse than Brussells was! I do love my mad day trips 🤣

Booked a slightly longer mini break in Majorca over my birthday next year. Dipped my toe in to the place this year and did 1 night and I liked it so going more extended next time ❤. Also did a caravan Weekender in September which was my biggest fear as its a holiday I've never *had* to do alone and holds very dear memories of my childhood and holidays with Mum so really stressed about solo but was actually ok. Would still prefer company on that one though

Love your extreme day trips ATV2021 and think that might be a great way to experience all of the must see parts of a city without the stress of hotels and suitcases etc . I can’t imagine doing a solo caravan holiday due to the families and couples and nostalgia though, you are really brave.

Yeah and most cities have lockers - think the one in Barcelona was about £4 so could keep my passport etc safe for the day.
Yeah the caravan was the toughest one as was always my childhood/mother daughter holiday so sitting alone was a bit rough for sure ❤

If people are interested in camping/caravanning Stellla’s Solo Adventures on TikTok is an account all about discovering a love of solo camping (well, solo plus a dog!). She’s recently been on a trip further afield so not as much camping in the recent posts but loads if you scroll back.

Oh I love her page!
I felt strangely proud how she handled her first solo trip abroad - I do get jealous when she gets gifted stays in shepherds huts etc though 😅

Now that I’m building my confidence and getting the hang of it I love solo travelling! I recommend Italy to anyone, very safe, lots to do (or not!) plus good food and wine. Not a long flight from the UK either.

I'm looking at booking a trip to Rome so this is great to read! Do you mind if I ask where you went in Italy and who you booked with?

Of course, I’m a bit basic so booked package holidays with jet2 and TUI. Now that I’m more confident navigating my way through airports I would totally book everything separately if that worked out better. I’ve been to Sorrento, the Amalfi coast and Cefalu in Sicily. All very safe and friendly towards solo travellers in my experience. Rome is next on my list , Tuscany too. I hope you go and enjoy all it has to offer ❤

Rome is amazing, I hasn't been for ages but I lived there for a few years. I'd recommend a visit to san lorenzo, it's a popular student neighbourhood, a bit run down but lots of cool Graffiti there's a nice restaurant called pommidoro there and also an amazing chocolate shop/cafe called Said. In the day in the main square is also a market, best place to buy cheese etc to take home, they will vacuum pack it for you and local prices so much better than going to campo dei fiori or somewhere touristy

I'm going to Paris for a few days - partly for work, but I should have some leisure time too! I haven't been in a long time and never been by myself. Is it fairly safe? Anyone have any nice recommendations for things to do? 🥰
