That was interesting @moronglace ! But OMG, KR's pronunciation of pisTAYHHHHchio. Lol.

I am not sure if I've seen Natasha. There was a period where YT was suggesting all these Uni aged north American girls in Italy and I never kept track. Lol. Some blonde girl who had had a head injury previously. I think her name was Luca? She visited and studies a bit in Italy. Then some girl in Bologna, also blonde. I think her American boyfriend eventually joined her but I can't remember her name nor saw her videos again lol. Then there was Kenna Burke whose Lombardy accent blew my mind. She spoke/spraks so well, but is like 10+ years younger than me so I never really followed.

I'm not Italian obvs😆 , but have been here for years now. I find it very central-southern Italian. I heard it a lot in Florence from my Orvieto and Calabrese friends, but now up north rarely hear it.

Yeah, Kenna is super impressive! I think due to her decision to speak only Italian with her classmates while on exchange, and being completely immersed while living in Italy. But you see how dedication makes all the difference.

There's a thread about Danae here in case you want to read more. 😅 And she definitely filters a lot. Her face was distorted in a recent Stories pic of her and her husband.

Sofie talks about being away from the U.S. for a year like she hasn’t seen her mom twice (or more?) in Italy in the past 12 months.

I thought the same thing. Lol. Also when she made such a huge deal about spending Xmas in Italy this past year. Then her mom came for New Years anyway.
But she's in Houston, I think? I feel like this is some DL work trip, or maybe she'll also stop over in VT.

She has some close friends that she’s probably visiting but that’s the unfortunate reality of being a dual citizen. I wish that she would do an honest video of how to maintain long distance friendships and family relationships.

Her mom has a house in Texas too! It’s a few hours from Houston

Her mom had a house built in Texas shortly after Sofie moved back to the States, pretty certain when she got COVID in 2020 it was from going to her mom’s for Thanksgiving. When she got COVID again in 2022, it messed up her plans to go to San Diego to see her dad and grandparents for Christmas (so probably again from Thanksgiving at her moms?).

Oh right, now that you mentioned it, I do remember her being at her mom's in TX for Thanksgiving.

Lol! Her accent sounds eastern European in this. No wonder someone asked her if she was from Moldova (a while back she was thrilled her accent wasn't so "American/Anglo" bc some guy assumed she was from there based on her speaking.) I thought "it's not actually better or saying it's closer to Italian." 😅

This is so cringe how can you not understand from context that something is a swear word. Her pronunciation of "mamma" is actually atrocious 😅

Wow Kacie's stans are rabid and she's an idiot. She just posted about her theatre stuff last week or so! And shortly before that! I even commented upthread, saying that I wondered if she resents moving to Italy bc she's been posting a lot about her old life performing. Lol.
