Did anyone see Kacie Rose @Maybelline in her latest Stories? This is so cringe. It's like she heard how much L'Oreal (parent company) pays Influencers for a sponsored post (around $150-200k) and is now angling for her own sponsorship. It's extra weird because it comes right when people are talking about "mascaragate" with that Tik Tokers undisclosed #ad and use of false lashes lol.

They are all just so shameless it is embarrassing, I hate when influencers say " a lot of you have been asking" we all know no one asked
Has she ever mentioned what kind of visa she is on? Obviously sofie has a European passport, but I know how difficult it is to get a visa to stay there without being in school/married to an Italian. All the Americans I met in Italy were either studying or working illegally

Im glad you asked @emm because I meant to bring this up a while ago. She's on a study visa, but only 6 months validity at a time. So she's always at the Questura. It made me wonder if she will soon announce she and Dario are getting married since you can only renew a few times for the same program. I can't see her trying to convert to an autonomous work visa because that seems too complicated for her. 🫠

I literally "Lol" at your comment about nobody asking!

What is she allegedly studying? I think they will soon too, I would have ages ago if I was her, god knows no one wants to deal with Italian beaurocracy ever 6 months if there is a way to avoid it

Italian. But she never mentions going to school. Maybe only once or twice. Maybe bc she promotes her "supplemental learning" with Davide.

From how her Italian doesn't seem to be progressing it seems that she rarely goes to class

Then Sofie posts: “for those of you asking about my necklace, here is a convenient affiliate code!!”

I need to see more of how her Italian isn’t progressing

That mascara looks hella spidery.
When I first heard about mascara-gate and the discourse about influencers disclosing sponsorships I immediately thought about Sofie and her SR posts.

I usually don’t mind Sofie but her not properly disclosing gifted content, partnerships and ads is bothering me. Another thing that makes me side eye her sometimes is denying her privilege. She acts like she grew up in a working class household and had to work her ass off to get to where she is today when that’s far from the truth.

She talks like it’s impossible for immigrants to have money. I do not deny that it is incredibly difficult for immigrants in the United States because of our xenophobia and our systematic racism, but being an immigrant doesn’t inherently mean you’re impoverished. I highly doubt her grandparents came to America third-class Titanic style wearing rags and covered in soot. Her grandparents would have left Italy in what, the late 60s? (Sofie made a video five years ago about her mom turning 50, so mom was born in 1968.)

Oh definitely. And many immigrants did very well for themselves with hard work and passed on the wealth. Ahem.

As you mentioned a bit upthread, her violin lessons, equestrian hobby and studying a summer at the Sorbonne aren't attainable for everyone.

I'm sure she works hard and seems the go-getter type. But ...there's no denying her family had money. Her mother seems to live a very comfortable life with Sofie's stepfather. I'm not sure why this is such a chip on her shoulder.

Her wedding shoes alone cost around 1,000. I don't want to sound like people can't spend their money how they want, but for shoes worn once or twice it seems like money was no issue. Just own it.

I know! Lol. I wonder how long the contract is for? I wonder why MZ Wallace chose her? At least she put AD this time.
Those bags are hideous, she probably wants to use ad to make it clear she wouldn't have chosen it

Do companies, like Radisson hotel chain, think suggesting the same content from multiple influencers looks good? Lol. The "in bed watching Sanremo!" and morning opening shot from the room window from Sofie and Kacie is

I was wondering why they are tagging Radisson in like every single story?? But is it sponsored or no?

It seems like it is and also was last year, saying the prosecco and welcome note etc is "so kind" yes I am sure the rest of us would get that service. I am so confused about this kind of advertising, how many of their followers are likely to come to Italy in general? Let alone go to this one hotel brand.

I initially thought Sofie looked good, but now I think both costumes are kind of ugly. The wire and hoops are so evident. So I guess this shop is gifting them the rental, too? I have a hard time taking Kacie seriously about anything and even in fancy dress she manages to look childish and goofy.

Oh, and how to forget she also learns via Babbel, but now in dialect.

What is the point of her "learning" dialect to go to Sicily? I mean in terms of practicality. Unless she's going to like the most remote parts of the island or something, it's not like people aren't going to understand standard Italian. It's just got to be a way for her to "prove" she is fluent now.
Meanwhile not a lick of Italian in her stories while trying on the dress? The way she was standing there while the two ladies were looking at the dresses took me back to when I was learning Italian and I was either utterly confused what was going on, or didn't know how to respond. Not even a "che bello" when shown the dress? Fluent? Let's see her speak Italian unscripted in a video with Sofie.
