You’ve hit the nail on the head here! It’s not something that gets me that wound up in everyday life, it’s Insta ‘activists’ in general that really get on my nerves because they position themselves as “world changing” and they’re SO quick to call out people publicly/send their followers piling on them but they never take responsibility for themselves/act like they should always be given the benefit of the doubt because they’re “learning”
In general when they mess up (and with 1000s of followers that could have a big impact) there’s no responsibility taken or acknowledgment of any harm done, there’s just a self absorbed ‘reflection’ where they make an excuse about why they behaved that way, they throw in the phrase ‘I’m acknowledging my privilege and always learning’ and then do absolutely nothing to learn from it and continue as they were
They can’t position themselves as an activist and not take constructive feedback, so if they can’t handle that, maybe they should consider that the world might not actually need to hear their opinion on every single thing

(says me, continually ranting, but at least I don’t act like I’m doing anyone a favour and you’re free to disagree without me blasting you on my Insta stories
