It’s on their official email today as part of their newsletter
And it’s all about cutting calories and not counting calories so they talked about how they used nutritional research from university’s to base their info on and that losing weight is about being in a calorie deficit but counting calories can be tedious which is where the free food list comes into account so they have done all the work for you so by following their suggestions you are cutting calories without having to count them
poorly worded but not what sanctimonious PT’s and ex-SW’a turned sugar binging CC’s are saying it is then.

Ive tried CC - hated it, tracking everything, panicking that I couldn’t find something so guessing. Not for me.

There seems to be a big divide on IG lately, between SW’ers and ex SW’ers. Lots of snarking and talk of negativity 👀

Think the SW lot are just grumpy seeing all the lovely junk food the CC lot are eating 😂

Did anyone see skinnyschedules stories of her going mental at a juice plus rep? Felt sorry for the poor woman she really went for her for no reason!

tryingtodoitall_sw did some really good stories on the full mail shot thing. Very sensible :)
I just watched them and she's bob on as always.
I think SW have really messed up with their marketing here. I'll happily admit I was wrong about it being fake but wtf are they thinking?!

Absolutely and she isnt all sweet and light about SW either. She's completely honest that in order to get to target she had to be calorie aware.

Agreed though the marketing is absolutely tone deaf. Both SW and CC have the scope to be 'unhealthy'

Jason from Munro Fitness has did some stories on it too and hasnt been ruthless. His response was quite balanced too.

SW have edited the original email too.

I think the thing with SW and SW culty type instagramers as they think SW is the holy grail, and as anything it works for some and not for others. There have been so so many people who swear SW is everything only to go back on that years later and slate it.

I am all for what works for you, but for SW to openly say calorie counting is bad for you and you should avoid it is damaging and doesn't help people view their brand. CC and SW run on the same principles of consume less than you burn but with SW it is easy to over eat which is what pulls people back, paying again and again. CC can be done for free, there is no marketing ploy behind it unless you join a trainer etc.

I found the poster completely tone deaf and I will never return to SW.

Most people give up on diets because they feel restricted. I felt so restricted on SW, felt I couldn't go out or grab food on the go. The whole page is a complete contradiction.
I hated that if I had bread for breakfast I couldn’t grab a quick sandwich for lunch same with cheese etc where with calorie counting you’re not restricted to once a day eating.

Exactly, the rules are just mad. I’ve got to my goal weight and haven’t calorie counted for approximately 8 months now all whilst maintaining, because it’s literally taught me how to eat normally. I have takeaways and all sorts, but I just now understand how the body works and the basic science to weight loss/gain. All slimming world taught me was that some foods are the devil and if I eat one then I might aswell give up for a week. The differences are that slimming world is just a lot of tit versions of good foods (ie. only allowed Wholemeal bagel thins, only frylight cooked food), so when you want to live normally you just switch back to the normal versions (which are often much nicer and sometimes healthier - yogurts for instance), whilst still thinking a plate of pasta is healthy as it’s free. Calorie counting literally taught me how to live a normal healthy life - albeit I did a lot of reflection and learning rather than just blindly eating a certain amount of calories x

I do like slimming world but my consultant is an a. I have to keep reminding her to send me certificates out when I hit a milestone, I don't attend the weekly tit zoom meetings or anything so she probs can't be arsed with me. I'll switch to online when the groups start again as no way I'm going to the god awful groups. Who actually enjoys sitting through a slimming world group?! Is there any body really!!

I do 🤣 However I quantify that by saying my consultant is fab and I'd consider her a friend plus I have a right laugh with people in my group. I have had some miserable consultant and dreary groups in my time though so it's not always good!
