Thanks for your reply, I am going to go shopping later, I’ll look out for the milk in Morrisons, I did find they had the best non dairy selection when I tried being vegan, I did about 6 months but ended up going back to being veggie/pescatarian. Haven't had any fish of late again though after watching Seaspiracy on Netflix!

I've had a sore throat and felt generally congested with a constant headache since before Christmas, started back on SW in November, IBS flare ups have been more frequent too, and thinking about it my dairy consumption has ramped up by a lot, not just the healthy extras but I find myself eating a lot of yoghurt, cottage cheese etc. Would make sense if my body could cope before with the dairy I was having just in tea/coffee and not having cheese every day and now it's like woah please stop 😂
I definitely get that with too much dairy. All my skin breaks out, especially along my jaw. Worth a go to see how your system is when the dairy clears. You may still be able to have some.

Ah thanks that's good to know, it's really confusing reading about lactose intolerance online as there's such a huge spectrum of symptoms. Come to think of it my skin hasn't been too great either but I just put it down to wearing a mask all the time!

I don't do sw anymore, but alpro Barista Almond milk is my favourite plant milk (has to be Barista). I can't stand vegan cheese 😂 so I just go without cheese tbh. I don't really miss it now. As for yogurts etc the alpro ones are good. I'm not vegan, but veggie with minimal eggs and occasional by products of milk (like cheese and onion crisps). I'm the same in the sense that I'm not lactose intolerant but milk makes me feel ill. I would avoid vegan cheeses 🤣 that's my only advice haha

Thank you 😊 Yeah when I was vegan I just didn’t have cheese in the end cos I couldn’t find one I liked, just something not right with any of them 😂 reminds me of play doh

Have you looked into a low fodmap diet for your IBS?

For me it's the smell 🤮

Seriously, we can out men on the moon, we can make vaccines in record speed and we can put planes in the sky...... But we haven't figured out how to make a vegan cheese ethat doesn't taste/smell like vommit 🤣

I don't know if we can mention other accounts here but there's one called Emily's World and she has a lot of 'plant based/vegan' meals etc and I find her page really good for recommendations on products. She also says if something is awful which helps 🤣

Some people really suffered with mental illness following SW, that’s why they disappeared, I know one of these accounts personally and it took her a long time to overcome what SW did to her mentally. Yes she put weight back on, we all do once you get out of that cult, its important to remove yourself from it to look after your mental health. God even if she maintained weight she would walk out of group in floods of tears it affected her so badly, she really opened my eyes and wouldn’t touch that diet plan, sorry, way of life, with a barge pole X
I know I take the piss but genuinely hope you’re friend is ok

I had to screenshot what the filling is, as it would have sounded like I’d made it up 😂 it sounds utterly revolting! View attachment 524363
Jesus Christ! My plates and bowls of food are always colourful but of natural and fresh wherever possible fruit and veg.
That’s a joke and a pisstake!
Slimming World followed properly works, well does for me

I have done but found it difficult to get my head around not being able to have a lot of the things I have all the time as it rules out a lot of veg, and I love spicy food 🙈
It doesnt necessarily rule them out it just reduces the amount you have. All depends as well if you are able to manage your symptoms as they are now. If youre happy then crack on eating the onion and garlic 😋

I'm going to see how cutting out the dairy goes, kind of go in phases with IBS from being totally manageable to looking 6 months pregnant and in total agony, with no change in diet bar the odd thing that is a total no no, Vindaloo, anything both tomatoey and lentil based to name a couple. I know those are high FODMAP. Oh for life to be simple :ROFLMAO:

At home we have lactofree it is made by Arla. My daughter is intolerant, I sometimes have bad skin if I drink too much milk in one day but not had an official diagnosis. Since switching milk I have been fine. It is worth trying.

Im not overly bothered tbh. The dairy industry can be pretty horrid. I really like oat milk now, its just the cost as 3 out of 4 of the family use oat so we go through *alot* and its quite expensive per litre. Oat milk is the best option environmentally. I think its got the lowest carbon foot print of any milk.
