I want to know what they're putting in their pancakes to make them look like that as I've made pancakes a million times with my 40g oats, egg and quark and they never look like these big fluffy things 🤣
Put in a teaspoon of baking powder. Its about 4 calories and really helps with puffing things up :)

I don't get it at all. Maybe a nice weekend brunch, but everyday? Fair play to them if they can lose weight on that. My gob is well and truly smacked.

I tried the oat pancakes ages ago and made normal flour ones for my kids at the same time. When I plugged it into MFP the normal ones were loads less calories than my 'healthy' ones. Is flour verboten on SW or more syns than oats or something?

It's the same syns for flour and porridge oats but you can use oats for your healthy extra hence why people use them instead. I find the oat ones fill me up more plus I like the taste so even if I'm not doing SW I still prefer using oats.

I'm on it! Haven't made them in ages actually so that'll be tomorrow's lunch.

I find it really conflicting, was going through a load of old SW books the other day and one actually mentions calories, it was comparing a SW fry up to a normal one and said just as much food but fewer calories, yet in group like you say it’s almost as if mentioning the existence of calories is forbidden and you can only refer to things as Free or having syns! Mentioning weighing anything other than Healthy Extras gets you looked at like you’ve got two heads. I really think they could do with a bit of an overhaul on the free carbs side of things like saying for example one serving of pasta/rice/potatoes per meal is free.

Edit: just to add the picking batter off fish thing is mad simply because fish and chips isn’t exactly cheap anymore, I’m not picking the batter off 😂
wonder if its slightly changing at the moment as i attended zoom this week and lost count of how many times she mentioned calories. been with her since march 2020 and shes never been like that

said all consultants are having 6 weeks worth of traninig and taking everyone back to basics

They get it gifted that’s why while idiots like me have to pay for it £11.99 😑😑😑

She used to do slimming world and to be fair she does calorie counting now but I still would never spend 400 cals on that. That’s a lot for breakfast
400 calories really isn’t a lot for a meal.
I’m all for bashing people for overeating on sugar etc, but not bashing people for using a valid 400 calories on a meal.
For me personally the less calories/ smaller portions I eat at my meals, lead me to snack more.

Id say 400 calories for breakfast is fine too. I usually have 300-400 for breakfast and lunch and then a larger evening meal.

My young kids get more than her it’s insane recently she’s proper dropped her food intake and exercises daily, someone commented on Instagram and her SW crew rushed to say she’s eating fine and we are basically large shaming but other way around 🙄View attachment 502956
She's a cocky little madame and far too thin. Or photoshopped.

I can’t believe some of these slimming world people are posting having battenburg cake on their breakfast. People in group tend to have overnight porridge oats or some fruit or a little bit of cereal. That is horrible. How are these people in a position to influence others. I hope their consultant would tell them what they are doing is wrong.
Slimming world don't care, we have been trying to report Harry Prickard for years, they don't care one jot

They are definitely crapping them self over loads of people switching to calorie counting. My consultant on zoom last week must of mentioned ‘food density’ about 100x & how you don’t need to calorie count because it ‘done for you’. It’s completely boring me however so I think I’ll give this weeks zoom and polite miss 🤣

I haven't been on any of the zooms of my group, I've seen screenshots of it and I think I'd rather lie under my bed in the dark than participate in one 😂

Christ!! I couldnt even eat a triple burger when i wasnt following slimming world let alone when i was.

Well i lie i could but burger only no chips or sides. Absolute pure greed and cooking for likes
That's what it all is, the battenburg on oats, biscoff on everything, filled easter eggs, overflowing mug cakes etc, cooking for likes. Would they make these abominations if they weren't posting it on the gram?! Probs not.

Lies, they put lies in these pancakes 😂
Ha that's exactly what I said in my head when I read that post 😂

I’ve been calorie counting for 7 months now and I just wouldn’t use 400 cals on breakfast. Especially not all that sugar in breakfast! Why can’t they just have some toast or somat normal?!

It’s just the whole marketing to try get people in isn’t it. Like who cares really, let’s tell folk who love food they can eat as much as they want regardless we get a fiver for each person and more the merrier.

it’s weird now thinking and realised yes SW works for some not for others & end of day they are cashing in always have, but going back to how it was Originally compared to how instagrammers and consultants or whatever they are try to push it as They do now where it’s all these alternative ways or what else you can use blah blah blah.

But like most things there’s always those few that turn something into a cash cow and ruin the original idea - if thay

Id need to have something with toast to keep me going until lunch. So 2 slices of toast (normal bread not teeny tiny slices) is anything from 180-260 calories depending on what bread is using and 2 eggs say medium is about 140ish calories. Then some butter/spread on your toast say 40 calories. So even toast on egg at a lower estimate is 360 calories but its got good amounts of protein and fibre (depending on bread) to keep you full.

Youre right though 400 cals of sugar is not going to fill you up. 400 calories of nutritionally dense food will.

Haha slimming world are deffo shitting them self about calorie counting now - this post was from a slimming world consultant - they’ve NEVER said anything like this before 🤣🤣🤣 and I’d love to know what free food doesn’t have loads of calories in? Because pasta rice and potatoes DO!
