Oh dear she's found you out on her latest thread 🤣
Ruffled some feathers did I? ;)

From reading these previous posts it seems she could dish it out to other people but not take criticism herself. Typical bratty egotistical Slimming Worlder. Get in the sea you absolute wet wipe.

I hated that if I had bread for breakfast I couldn’t grab a quick sandwich for lunch same with cheese etc where with calorie counting you’re not restricted to once a day eating.
Exactly, the rules are just mad. I’ve got to my goal weight and haven’t calorie counted for approximately 8 months now all whilst maintaining, because it’s literally taught me how to eat normally. I have takeaways and all sorts, but I just now understand how the body works and the basic science to weight loss/gain. All slimming world taught me was that some foods are the devil and if I eat one then I might aswell give up for a week. The differences are that slimming world is just a lot of shit versions of good foods (ie. only allowed Wholemeal bagel thins, only frylight cooked food), so when you want to live normally you just switch back to the normal versions (which are often much nicer and sometimes healthier - yogurts for instance), whilst still thinking a plate of pasta is healthy as it’s free. Calorie counting literally taught me how to live a normal healthy life - albeit I did a lot of reflection and learning rather than just blindly eating a certain amount of calories x

Another huge fan of the book mentioned. Its not a food shift thats needed, its a mental one.

I love bagels. Any kind. Theyre my favourite. I would have one almost every day now. On SW would I have used 11 syns on one? Probably not cause I want mayo etc and fillings which may then cause me to 'go over my syns' but Id eat 2 alpen lights as a B choice cause it was 'allowed' and not find them enjoyable.

I find when I eat meals and enjoy them I snack less. I feel more satisfied. I always felt my meals with SW were lacking so to speak. Probably cause they had no fat in them. Now I have a lovely main meal most evenings that I look forward to I dont feel the need to snack in the evening. Whereas on SW Id be thinking oh Ive got my B choice left and 7 syns what can I have.

Also the thinking about food OMG yes. All I thought about was food. Was constantly at the shop buying fresh fruit, veggies, low syn snacks people had posted.

Now I know I can eat something without planning. I can pick up a sandwich if Im out or even  a McDonalds and still go about my day and be in a calorie deficit.

I’ve had 3 consultants in my time, 2 were good. 1 was horrific. i feel like I cant say much as it would easily identify me but I went back to a different class after pregnancy, I had got to target prior to falling pregnant at a different class but my original consultant gave it up, so I thought I’d try a new class. I didn’t have much to lose really, combination of being at target prior to pregnancy, breastfeeding and running after 2 kids. I lost I think 5lbs in my first week (which was obviously water weight) and she made me stand up in front of everyone at my turn in image therapy and said look this woman does not have a lot of weight to lose and she can manage 5lb in her first week so there is no excuse for anyone. Should have been my first red flag but no I continued to attend. She’d make catty comments if you lost 1lb or stayed the same.

The final straw was when a close relative of mine had an accident and I got a phone call about it 20 minutes before going to my class that week, I posted in the Facebook group to say really sorry cant make today but I had a countdown anyway so she’d had her money up front. She had seen the comment, but text me later that evening to say why didn’t I come along to her other classes that week and I needed to prioritise my weight loss, seemed like a generic text she sent everyone who hadnt attended that day, she didn’t reference what I’d put on the FB page. I replied saying well this has happened blah blah. No response. She then continued to bombard me with texts, I eventually said this is too much can you stop messaging me, it’s just not for me, I’ve did SW before and never felt like this. Her response, oh please still come along I’ll just take you off my text message list. I said please do that and no I won’t. I eventually had to block her as she continued to text me and send me stuff via email.

the best part of all of this is she was not at her target weight, I think had been at her target weight for a few months once in all the time she was a consultant. She was not a small lady at all.

Edit - she also used to write really bitchy comments on my food diaries, said I used too many syns (never used over 15 btw) and didnt eat enough free food. I honestly wish I had reported her to SW HQ at the time because she was horrible.

It is amazing how much SW messes with your perception of food, it has taken me months to stop thinking I have messed up my whole day by having a croissant for breakfast then just binging saying I will draw a line tomorrow 😂

I think the thing with SW and SW culty type instagramers as they think SW is the holy grail, and as anything it works for some and not for others. There have been so so many people who swear SW is everything only to go back on that years later and slate it.

I am all for what works for you, but for SW to openly say calorie counting is bad for you and you should avoid it is damaging and doesn't help people view their brand. CC and SW run on the same principles of consume less than you burn but with SW it is easy to over eat which is what pulls people back, paying again and again. CC can be done for free, there is no marketing ploy behind it unless you join a trainer etc.

I found the poster completely tone deaf and I will never return to SW.

It’s on their official email today as part of their newsletter
And it’s all about cutting calories and not counting calories so they talked about how they used nutritional research from university’s to base their info on and that losing weight is about being in a calorie deficit but counting calories can be tedious which is where the free food list comes into account so they have done all the work for you so by following their suggestions you are cutting calories without having to count them
poorly worded but not what sanctimonious PT’s and ex-SW’a turned sugar binging CC’s are saying it is then.

Ive tried CC - hated it, tracking everything, panicking that I couldn’t find something so guessing. Not for me.

The complexity of that sort of eating cannot be ironed out by someone who goes on a training course at SW HQ. These people need therapy, not SW.

Its so black and white to these people on plan or off plan. So when they do go 'off plan' its a huge binge and eating everything theyre not 'allowed'

The problem with SW is that it has been bastardised by social media.

6+ years ago, you’d bang your veg on the plate, follow the plan properly, have a nice loss, then listen to Fat Susan talk about her all inclusive cruise in class. The meals weren’t pretty, but they were honest and got you where you wanted to be. No fuss, no wannabes, no Beggy Mitchells.

These days, it’s all about tweaks and likes. Tower burgers that are about 7 layers high, porridge with ridiculous cake decorations on, and dickheads with a different comparison picture every day, tagging the shit out of SW in the vain hope that they’re not enough of a munter to appear in the magazine.

Give me Fat Susan any day...
This is it! Most of my SW group are only on social media to share posts of missing dogs in the USA from 2013 so are blissfully unaware of the Instagram version of the plan. You should see some of the shite they eat though seriously 😂 so much beetroot. I am trying so hard this time to ignore the seas of beige that pop up on my explore and just focus on eating mainly fruit, veg and protein.

I see it’s kicking off on erika_slimmingworld stories! She was mentioned on here. I don’t mind her but knew people would be fucked off about her Tinder stories.
Tbf she crossed a line by putting up a poll getting her followers to vote yes/no to each person. If it was a male who did it there would be uproar! And no matter how much she says she could take it, you can guarantee she would be the first one to cry bully or troll if a man had done the same to her.

Totally agree, but there is a huge difference between a slimming club and a diet club. SW and WW etc are diets, there are foods you aren’t allowed and you must follow a plan. Calorie counting is just pure science, there’s nothing else too it. If you actually have health seeking goals then you won’t use your calories on McDonald’s every day, even though you could. There’s a big difference between being on a diet and trying to sustainably lose weight. Slimming world is definitely the devil 😂
There really isn’t a huge difference. If you are wanting to lose weight and are tracking calories you are on a weight loss diet. I’ve had coaches and PT’s and 100% have been told what I can and can’t eat (these usually charge more than a £20 a month though). Calorie counting is science and all a person needs is to be in a calorie deficit to lose weight. Eating for health is different although ideally most people would combine the two (80/20 rule whilst in a calorie deficit). SW is crap but my issue is with people who are calorie counting and act all superior about slimming clubs. If someone is actively losing weight, counting calories/macros, is in a FB group and sends their weight to a coach then they are in a slimming club. We can dress it up any which way but it’s the same. Big business as well, look at how much they make each month. SW and WW will soon be on their way out (especially SW as they don’t seem to move with the times) but groups like JSA, Munro, RH etc make a fortune all from being a slimming club. They will have a very small % of clients who are bulking/at maintenance. Their main source of clients will be from people wanting to lose weight (I’ve been members of all 3 CC clubs/groups).

That laura_emily_x does my head in. She puts the picture of her a day after birth as her face face. She only does it to make her look like she's lost so much weight. She's very strange her and her weird husband.
