You don't deserve any backlash for this.

I was in a similar position, I ended up with disordered eating from SW. I feel I'm fully recovered but it was a long process.

You will start to feel normal, I promise. I eat white bread now and feel no guilt. Someone said "guilt isn't an ingredient, don't add it!"
I had disordered eating from sw too, It messed me up for years.
Iv been calorie counting and eating anything Iv fancied (I’m on high calories) and lost 1.5 stone. The freedom is liberating

Not one I'd come across. Had a look, wouldn't follow. Too many comparison photos, not enough food I like the look of and I'm not a fan of the "I'm such a warrior" narrative 😏

Can you imagine if you worked in that shop and you had do stack all those bags of sugar back up on the shelf because she wanted a picture for her Instagram. I would be right pissed off. So many slimming world folk tag slimming world in the pictures and mmbobe. Slimming worlds Margaret the multi millionaire CEO. So desperate for recognition. Rather sad.
I have to agree I wouldn’t follow either to many selfie’s before/after hardly any food pictures.

Binge plates 🤢 I’m so lucky I had consultants who encouraged members to use their syns on meals with things like real gravy, sauces. I also remember one who reminded people 15 syns a day was maximum and not target 🎯 She was also great in educating members that you need to have speed on the plate, not as an after thought as that’s where the loss comes from.
Thats a great consultant! Unless youre gonna have fry light roasties forever then you need to learn whats a reasonable amount of oil to use.

Saw someone on the PON fb page say there gravy is say 120 cals per portion but Bisto for a portion is less. People arguing that its made of free foods so calories dont matter. 🤡

This turned into a let’s bash Sw thread ??? 😂😂😂
I'm not bashing SW, I'm a member myself, it's the dickheads that think their shit doesnt stink that follow it that piss me off 😊
He did what??? 😱😱😱😱 what a cunt
I can't say for certain it was him, but its no coincidence that i pass comment about him on here, and within minutes I'm getting messages off fake profiles about me 'trolling his baby' when I did nothing of the sort...

I'll see if i can find the screenshot of it, but it was along the lines of

"trolling a baby, its time to report you to childrens services, you should be ashamed of yourself, your profile says everything about you, and you call yourself a dad"

Yes I do... I don't plaster my kids all over insta in the hope of a freebie...

and the last time I checked, to troll someone, you have to contact them directly do you not?

I did no such thing, Mr Snares' ego is so out of control he will google himself to e-wank his ego.

Funny thing is, he's got a profile on here but he claims to hate it, he came on defending beggy ben.

couldn't make it up 😂😂😂

She’s one of the worst, absolutely takes the mick with her food. Her grid is all food a young kid would dream of eating. She’s now posting calories and syns like all these other SW knobs, she hardly looks any different in her “transformation” photos and to add insult to injury she uses the word “lush” excessively which makes me sick in my mouth.
Lush makes me heave, same with "peng"...it's not even a word!

I go back and forward between SW and CC....I'm a total bread fiend so I really struggle with it being so restricted. SW is really good for making me eat more fruit and veg and being healthier in general but the flexibility of CC can't be denied! I pay for SW though and go to the classes (well zoom at the moment obviously!) as I do really like them and find them supportive. I have an amazing leader though and met some lovely people through it so it's worth it for me.

Most of the slimming accounts I follow on Insta are only small as it seems to be the bigger they are, the faker they are! I just want to follow normal folk like me who do nice food and I get inspiration from. I think I've only got about 700 followers and I know a lot of the time I'm really repetitive about my food so it's probably not very exciting.....and I don't add loads of crap or have massive meals but I like the supportive community and it keeps me on track to post.

Exactly, I'm quiet into sw (it has its flaws like most eating plans) and I just don't get the whole chocolate, sweet, rich breakfasts. I have fruit and yogurt/fruit/boiled egg/bacon butty for breakfast. I guess that's why if people looked at my Instagram they would say it's boring. But it works nearly 10st lighter.
It works if you don't tweak and make stupid food

It was like ‘eat the rainbow Jen’ who had a tummy tuck! And there’s another one that did WW (lost all her weight with that) now calorie counts and has had a tummy tuck but if you ask her she skirts around the issue!
Ahhhh WW, great to see that Alison Hammond has done so well as their ambassador 😂

Since 2014 I’ve bounced in and out of Slimming World. In the past I’ve tried Cambridge (just milkshakes and misery) and most recently tried Team RH.
I appreciate Richie from Team RH. His approach is great. However, he can rant at me to weigh everything to the gram until he’s blue in the face but when I’m stood at the kitchen counter at 7a.m weighing coffee granules, I really start to question if it’s all worth it. My answer was no. Calorie counting is not for me. Neither is weighing myself every day even though I understand why he asks you to do it. I have the type of personality that is prone to becoming quite obsessive about things and I could see that this wasn’t cutting it for my mental health. Sitting at my mother-in-law’s dinner table on Easter Sunday, having palpitations because I can’t accurately weigh carrots and roast potatoes to the gram... 🙄 I realise that this is just me and not their plan, but I also realise that I cannot be the only person who is likely to become obsessed and have it take over their life.
He will bash SW for calling certain foods ‘syns’ whilst simultaneously calling certain foods ‘shite’...🤷🏻‍♀️
Every plan has it’s flaws, I guess.
I’ve returned to SW. I’ve sacked off my old IG that followed all the accounts promoting chocolate laden porridge. I’m going to read the books and follow the plan that they have written. The podcast is a good shout. The qualified nutritionists that have been featured on the show have cleared up a few things about SW that I was never too happy about. I agree that it still has it’s flaws, but ultimately, as someone stated above, it’s about using your common sense and understanding that the accountability starts and ends with you. Stacking a mound of SW chips on a plate with a WW wrap
pizza and having the three measly pieces of mushroom on your pizza count as your 1/3 of a plate isn’t going to get you anywhere. It’s fine once every so often but if you’re looking to shift some weight that’s just not going to do the trick. I agree with all of you about the instahuns and their warped versions of Slimming World. It doesn’t do SW any favours not addressing it all.
Anyway, having been through the thread, if anyone has any further worthwhile Instagram suggestions of genuine Slimming World accounts I would love to have a look. Even if your suggestion is yourself just write a little list of ones you like and include yourself in it. Nobody will ever know. 👍🏻
This a million times! Slimming World doesn't work for me, but it works wonderful for two of my friends. No diet fits every person, we all crave different foods, have different weaknesses with food, and we all find motivation from different things. WW worked really well for me, but then I gave Team RH a go, and although Ritchie would abuse me for it, I absolutely weighed everything to the gram, I worked out and I got my steps in and all I did was stay the exact same weight for nearly 2 months, because the calories were so fxxcking high! Now I'm calorie counting my own way and it's working well, I'm not stressing out over getting 15k steps and 6 work outs a week. I'm active, I'm eating well, but I was becoming obsessive, unhealthily obsessive with calories and steps, because there is such a hostility towards not reaching your targets with Team RH. Do what works for you, every time!

I have to admit I am a total baked oats (not overnight, god no, so claggy!!) fan for breakfast, but I am not a piss taker when on plan. Nor do I melt a square of chocolate to dip fruit in, I just eat the bar of chocolate that I want whilst incorporating it into my days.

When it works and you go back to basics it works, but as with any plan you’ve also got to have your head in the right space as well, and clearly some of these folk are taking the mick!

One thing that does irk me and always has done though is how mashing or blending fruit makes it synnable? I could understand if they were to tell me it’s because mashing or blending releases sugars in the fruit, but to tell me it’s because I’m likely to consume more and affect my loses. Usually by a consultant with no nutritional training at all.

I wonder if they'll do two separate plans for a couple of years, like how they kept the Green/Red plan alongside EE before slowly phasing it out.
They might do. I just can't see the die hards accepting weighing of things and restrictions on quantity. Need to wait and see I guess. What will all the beige Insta accounts do if it changes. Itl be porky lights / muller light saga all over again.
