The consultant who ripped us off, gave money and food away to the social team members daughter made us aware of free rejoining as if nothing has ever happened. The community group is going well and we are still over £2 cheaper than slimmingworld as we run not for profit.

Well done to Joe but you have to now assume everything I've ever said is true..weightloss doesn't matter, it is your image and how you will look on their promotional material that really matters.. how can someone who has lost 5st (amazing by the way) be deemed to be more "sleeker" than someone who has lost almost 14st?

I see popularity tourist snares made a congratulatory post, imagine that... being endorsed by him would be like being proud
Fred West installed your fucking patio.
Do you want recognition from Slimming World? Your post seems tinged with a bit of jealousy

I’m conflicted.

Common decency makes me want to agree that she’s off limits. But on the other hand, you’re free to discuss who you wish. As long as it’s not hate speech or libellous, obviously. Anything said prior to the post of that photo (that I saw over the last couple of pages, at least) wasn’t particularly harmful. Saying someone looks like they smell is hardly going in for the jugular, is it?! Mean spirited? Yeah, a bit. But something to cause serious harm? I don’t think so.
I’d never even heard of the woman until comments were made about her restarting her journey again. Every comment including and since the photo post has had no malicious intent behind it. I’d say that the tone has definitely been one of concern.

I do agree with the person way above who said that the same could apply to anyone who is/has been discussed on this site. I’ve seen some truly scathing things said about people, their partners, their families and even their kids on these threads and specific weight loss threads. But that’s ok and justified because they try to sell crap, fib about weight, their weight journey seems like a joke to you or I, or because you simply just don’t like them? I hate all that too and there are some folks that just annoy me for some reason. I have made comments about some of the SW Instagrammers that get my back up. For all I know, any one of them could have serious MH issues but choose not to post photos of the physical evidence like this woman chose to do on her very public profile for all to see.

Without causing a row, it just seems the tiniest bit hypocritical to waltz in and take the moral high ground. Unless, of course, you’ve not said a single negative thing about anyone on here. In that case, you’re more than welcome to. 👍🏻

ETA: For the sake of keeping the peace, I won’t be mentioning her again.

always makes me smile, they can't be arsed to follow the plan only in the few weeks before they all go to the ball to get their yearly ego wank, and then its straight back to not bothering and pushing the JD codes.

This article, I can’t even 😵💫

‘If you’ve ever tried calorie counting you’ll know it can quickly become a huge inconvenience’. I’m sorry, what??? I cannot think of a bigger diet inconvenience than SW 😂 having to have specific brands of bread and specific amounts of cheese or the ✨ magic ✨ won’t happen. Not to mention the total nightmare that is trying to eat out anywhere that isn’t Subway, a supermarket cafe, Nando’s or Wetherspoons!

Oh and also having to trek to a coma inducing meeting every week which you starve yourself before and are paranoid about even having a glass of water 🙄

To anyone who struggles to lose weight what Lauren and many of the sw gang do is EXACTLY why they keep failing or why they gain their weight back … they’re in the diet mindset. Diets do not work!!! They aren’t maintainable. I always say unless you can see yourself eating the same way in 10 years time then it isn’t going to work.
Diets are a waste of time and money. Eat the food you love but a little bit less and move a little bit more. Simple.

I'm old enough to remember when they used to use slim models on the front cover of the magazine.....then they decided to switch to "real people", who incidentally also looked like models....or were certainly made to anyway! They never intended to showcase your typical sw attendee

Sw only ever gives a shit about it's profits. People need to understand that this cuddly aunty Madge could not give a fat fook about you. The biggest laugh is that they are so fussy who they choose to promote and lead their PR spin, yet they'll let Susan who is a good 6 stone over her target, buy a franchise, stand in front of a group and bark at you how to not be a fatty, and belittle you for gaining 0.5lbs because you didn't put 1/3 speed on your plate. Zero fucks given as long as you're meeting your targets (earning them money)
I remember red and green days and know exactly what you mean. I agree with everything that you say here.

Before I retired from the NHS they used to actively promote slimming world, they do that less now and the NHS weight loss app is good. I think Slimming world doesn’t teach its members about good nutrition. I am also suspicious of slimming worlds relationships with food brands.

As a former mental health professional, I think only selecting members who are attractive and marketable to promote slimming world is shocking and insulting to other members who have achieved substantial losses. That can be extremely damaging to peoples mental health. I think overly promoting members can create a monster. Big_ben_to_slim_ben was a case of narcissistic personality disorder and Slimming World actively encouraged that shocking behaviour that was damaging to his family. I doubt slimming world would have offered him or his family any sort of counselling, therapy or support for what was a very evident personality disorder. Slimming World is a outdated brand that needs a very big overhaul.

No I agree I don't think that sw are all that friendly to consultants either. They act all warm towards them when they are earning them money. But it seems to be a different story coming out when they leave the company. I'd like someone to fully whistle blow on them, but no one seems willing to and that's not a good sign
I know that SW consultants pay anything from £1500 to £2500 to start up, that includes £750 for the first licence and they need a new licence for every group they run, so if they run 4 groups a week, they need a further 3 licences at a cost of £750 each! SW take £4 from the weekly member fee and they only pay half of the cost of the venue hire that the groups are held in, the consultant funds the other half from their earnings. They send the hifi bars to consultants for free but the consultant will only make 20p per box sold, SW takes the other £1.75.
Last week in my group I was awarded the greatest loser and the consultant knows I don't like a lot of the nonsense but she said to me "please wear the sash for the photo at least, it cost me £3" and it made me feel awful so I did, my consultant has 4 groups, so thats 12 quid for 4 sashes!!!!

it makes you think how they actually make a living from it.

Does anyone follow slimming_teganxx ? She’s basically begging for money via this buy me a coffee thing? I find that absolutely shameful and vulgar, am I just old fashioned? I don’t even like asking people for money when my kids get a sponsored thing through at school, i just end up donating £20 or £30 myself 🤣

I wonder what scales Lauren uses, I’ve never know scales measure in less that quarter pounds. She says she’s lost -0.12lb this week and she’s happy as she would have taken a maintain. Surely be normal scales, that is a maintain? 0.1lb is so negligible. Worries me she is focussing on such tiny, minute numbers

Yeah definitely loaded! I don’t even want to be skinny, I’d settle for not obese 🤣
My ex husband retired a very wealthy man, he is deeply unhappy and is very open about how unhappy he is and how if he had his time again, he would have done things differently. I think it’s sad at this time in our lives.

Since retiring, I’m not loaded, I’m comfortable but happy, I am able to volunteer and do things I want to do. I’m happy that I have never been solely focused around money. I have two good kids who are now grown up. My son is wanting to join slimming world since stopping rowing and having a less active job. I am doing my utmost to keep him away from that. I don’t tell them I tattle either!

He said he's still 9 stone down from his start weight at the very start.
I dont follow him and never have done so not sure what his original start weight was, if he ever disclosed it
I think we can all agree that based on recent evidence that that is what is universally known as a load of old bollocks.

I honestly don't care what people think of me for saying this either, but its people like him, and accounts like his that make people think slimming world doesn't work.

It does when followed properly. I'm proof of that.

Snares makes me rage and laugh in equal measures.

Just own the fact you can’t stick to it. Own that you lost a tonne of weight and that’s great but you’ve royally fucked up your relationship with food long beforehand and that you need some therapy, not this NeW mE bullshit every month. It must be so frustrating for him to do this every other week, telling himself he can do this because he’s done it before - I know full well that losing it is one thing, keeping it off and being healthy is a mindset and way of life, it’s not about losing the weight it’s about completely realigning your thought process about food and lifestyle. He hasn’t done this, he won’t - he can’t, until he’s had therapy or just accepts that he can eat what he likes but not the stupidly high quantities he enjoys them in. The moment I stopped looking at food as a way of comforting myself when I felt shit, was the moment I stopped gaining a tonne of weight and losing it again only to repeat the cycle again and again.

I saw that as well, I had a to read it a few times to check I had read it right!
What would possess someone to effectively beg for money just because they post to Instagram? She’s not even particularly inspirational, I think she had lost a stone or two last year and used to post monthly weigh ins but there doesn’t seem to have been any of those since January! So she’s not exactly flying the flag for weight loss motivation. I also hate that she uses things like McDonald’s packaging for her “fakeaways” (hate that word!) and she actually put individal sesame seeds on a white roll to make it look like a McDonald’s burger 🤦🏼‍♀️ Far too much time on her hands obviously 🤣
