It is different if one the account is set up as a business account or if you are advertising their business hence why I asked if the poster was celebrating the success of how slimming world worked for them
I'd posted a transformation photo of me with my son in the park..the consultant in question took that image and some of my words and used it as they saw fit.

someone who follows me messaged me and said "look at you, being pimped out all over slimming worlds social media accounts", I'm like what are you talking about? nobody has asked my permission.

that is not ok.

I've been a slimming world member now since 2019, and to say I have a love/hate relationship with it would be an understatement. My mrs used to show me all these people that had lost LOADS of weight with slimming world, Jack Towers, Big beggy ben, Mr snares, not forgetting Harry Pickard and his fabled 8 stone loss 😄

"I wished I could do that" I thought. I had a serious health scare in 2019, long story short, I was rushed to hospital and told straight "lose weight or you will be dead soon" my blood pressure was 220/200.

within days I'd joined slimming world for what felt like the 528th time. I used to blag it, eat tit on weigh days after getting weighed, take the absolute piss out of the plan (like those I mentioned above that still do 😉)

But this time, I wanted to do it by the book, after all, my life was at stake now and it was very serious. I saw Ben, snares, even jack towers and thought "I want to be them"

I was 2.5lb away from being 27st when I joined. I was addicted to food, I'd eat a multipack of 26 packets of walkers to myself A DAY, washed down with full sugar coke, I'd go mental if the kids threw anything away and I'd honestly get stuff they'd thrown away from the bin and eat that too...

I lost a stone in my first week, I'd lost 1 and a half stones by week 3

fast forward 3 years, and I've had all sorts of tit from slimming world. They accused me of being a bully and pulled a feature they had planned on me, I've had a slimming world consultant take personal photographs of mine of my children and plaster them all over social media without my permission and their response to it was pretty much "if you dont want it to happen you could always set your profile to private"

I strongly believe unless you are a kiss a, or you have a look about you they like to promote, they dont want to know..

"Slimming world is for men too" is a recent campaign they ran.. well, this particular member got to target a while back, 12st award and I was voted man of the year in my group all on the same day...I tagged sw in my social media posts and all the rest of it but it was met with silence. I maintained my 12st loss for 3 months before deciding to change my target again, and I've just got my 13st award and got to target again, and was again ignored by sw..If I sound like a bitter witch, I guess i am but I think it's justified.

😊
At least you’re not bitter about it 🍋

Hello long time lurker and prolific SW yo yo-er here 👋

There is no denying SW works if you follow the plan and don't abuse it with mounds of potatoes and pasta, but the only reason it works is because it puts you in a calorie deficit if followed correctly as others have said on these threads many a time.

SW has well and truly ducked with my idea of foods to be considered healthy. I'll still have pasta n sauce for lunch, still buy HexB approved bread, still weigh out 30g cheese etc even if it ends up being more than I'd use if I was just sprinkling parmesan on bolognese for example.

When I was following the plan it was so easy if I was at home, or could make something to take to work with me for lunch but with my job I can be away from home for a week at a time and it just becomes a total nightmare trying to stick to it. Your only low syn options really if they are even available for lunch are a Subway salad, specific ready made salads from M&S or just a pack of chicken from the supermarket. It is a miserable existence when the people you work with are happily grabbing a meal deal at lunch and you're having a meltdown manically scanning stuff cos they've sold out of sushi!!

Then when you go out for dinner it's even worse, steak and a jacket potato it is unless you're somewhere SW has listed the syns for when you know full well you could have something else off the menu for less calories but your SW mentality tells you no.

At group the majority of the other members were retired or could take a packed lunch every day, remember once having Nandos for tea when I was working away and posting it on the FB group and one of the members was like 'I couldn't possibly spend that many syns on a meal' I think it worked out being like 6 syns or something. I was like I don't want to be doing but this was the only feasible option, I don't even like Nandos FFS 😂

Sorry for the rant 🙈 I just think yes it does work but only if you are able to stick to it at all times which I found incredibly difficult even when I was feeling 100% on it!

I remember the days of plain steak and a dry jacket potato. The only pleasure was a treat of tenderstem or tomato just to add something ‘special’. I must admit I do still enjoy a subway salad.

What drives me crazy is when weight loss accounts tag both slimming world, weight watchers and calorie counting on one picture, well which is it. Which one are you following because if I am following weight watchers - I don’t want to see numerous slimming world pictures when I’m following the weight watchers tag. All they want is followers hence why they tag every bloody thing

Just come across this lady. She looks amazing but blinking heck, 5.5 stone in 19 weeks???? Slimming World disordered eating at its finest!!!
I follow this lady, she for sure has disordered eating! She does about 3 hours of exercise a day! She had an Indian to celebrate target and still chose the healthiest option and spent days after justifying having a bit of tikka chicken 🤦🏼‍♀️. She’s just split with her fella, I hope she has support around her because watching her worries me 😅

Same RE Subway salads 😅 I'm not having them 7 days a week now so I can enjoy them again lol. You can proper tell a SWer at the supermarket if you're at the same conveyor. large free everything, muller lights, WW wraps, Fry Light....

Children need full large yogurts and cheese as a balanced diet so I wouldn’t give them low large so I’d rather have less off the good stuff and enjoy it then have twice as much crappy stuff.

Very true I always say this. You see SWers having an entire 500g pot of yoghurt and fruit as a dessert cos it's SyN fReE but you could just have a small amount of something really good and satisfying for probably half the calories 🙈

I remember being away do çompete in a sports event. I had tins of sardines and pickled veggies in my hotel room. That was fragrant!

Growing up and well into my 30s I thought I didn't like yogurt. Turns out I don't like large free sweetener laden fruity yogurts. Now I've discovered the full large stuff and wow. It's so good! I still have to be in the mood but it's a proper treat now not a begrudging make do for a pudding.

Our taster sessions were always fizzy drink, grapes and some sort of tit tasteless egg muffin thing because no one could be bothered.
Ours were a mix. One time someone brought in an actifry and did chips. Someone else did the mushy peas curry with that many mushrooms I wish inwas hallucinating.

We've only got roughly 80 years or so on this planet...imagine spending a good portion of those days eating cous cous cakes and manically trying to do 20k steps. Have a pizza and enjoy life.
