People who lose 16 stone in such a short period time, eating v little like the portions above with the small portions end up messing up their metabolisms.

The people with the most success long term are those who pootle along at 1lb per week loss. When I was at SW most consultants would urge you when asking 'what would you like to lose next week' oh just 1lb, you could do 2lbs. Flex your willpower. Its a muscle, blah blah.

They get judged on overall losses by their 'area managers' so of course they want folk with 4lb a week losses.

Noone should be eating less than their BMR daily and for someone at say 20 stone, even if completely sedentary are likely to have a fairly high BMR.

Weight loss surgery is such a quick and easy fix that people use to drastically lose weight but if you don’t deal with the psychological issues that made you put on the weight, you’re gonna just undo the work from the surgery and regain the weight
Yeah I know what you mean and totally agree - that’s the same for any diet I guess, he clearly has a lot of issues surrounding food. It’s very sad really, think he has young children? I also feel like he said at one point he wasn’t sure he would fit in his car, surely that would be a wake up call

I had this with my consultant. I'd be losing 1lb and she'd be like "what do we think you could do different to help you lose more a week as you always lose 1 or 2" 😑

Then goes around and asks everyone for ideas

To maintain a weight of 30+ stone you must be hammering the calories and never doing any exercise of any kind. It must be horrific to be trapped in that cycle of binging and self loathing. The only way you could get out of it is being really really honest. I still think weightloss is a mental battle. Something has to click in your brain to truly change your eating habits, whatever plan you follow.

Its very frustrating. 1lb a week is a consistent and sustainable weight loss.

It should be enough and pushing people to lose more is not the way to go as it makes them feel theyre doing something wrong!

I'm sorry but that foodieslimmer bloke is a disgusting pig.

He deserves no sympathy whatsoever.

haven't read any of the comments on his posts but I'll hazard a guess that they say stuff like "you've got this" and other balls....

makes me sick.
100 percent agree

I don’t think so at all, I’ve rejoined many times 🙈 but most have lost weight but not at target. My friend used to be a ww coach and they had specific weight ranges they had to be between after they’d lost weight or risk losing their position. She used to say how could I stand there overweight and tell others how to lose weight
Slimming world need to do something similar, their consultants behaviour as Damocles has shown is damaging to others.

Portion difference or not, there is simply no bleeping way you could gain 18st in 2 years eating Spag Bol and a reasonably “healthy” version of a fry. The spaghetti portion size looks like mine and I’m at target. He must have been hammering the junk food to gain that quickly.
Must have literally drank oil and melted butter. duck my liiiiiiiiiiiife, his heart will be on the struggle bus with that drastic body weight fluctuation.

That amount of a gain shows that he either does not follow the plan or that slimming worlds plan doesn’t work which is bad for the brand. Is it anyones job at Slimming World to keep their consultants following the plan and checking what they are doing?
You don't even need to be at target to be a consultant. You pay to be one and its up to you to get paid via your members. SW don't really care as they make money either way.

They don't need to care because yes sw make most profits from january dieters but their long term profits won't come from influencers and social media.
It comes from the 1000s of Karens, Sharons, Tracys and Christines who have being going to group for years and years, never reaching target and in a constant cycle of losses the gains.
These types use group as a social occasion.
These are the core membership that SW truely cater to despite appearances on social media.

I like SW & not one for bashing it as it worked for me … but I’ve just heard fresh pasta (not filled) is now free … this does confuse me because calorie wise has anything changed 😂
As much as I like the plan I can’t get my head around changes like this 😂😂😂

They make it up as they go along. Like the mugshots being 'free' then suddenly not being 'free' despite the fact the calories of the mugshots stayed the exact same.

Blueberries suddenly becoming a speed food, when for years they were just a 'free' food. Can guarantee the composition of blueberries did not change 🙈

Itl be based on behaviours / habits of members rather than anything scientific related to weightloss.

It was like mullers were free then became synned. I think it's for the few who suddenly decide to eat 7 mullers a day cos its free but doesn't account for all the sugars etc

I love the idea of slimming world, it given me precious time with my daughter and the other group members were lovely and I left the group with lots of ideas. The parts of slimmingworld that are irritating are these egotistic members in a Instagram Cult of Slimming world. The slimming world consultant is a big fan of the Instagram cult followers.

So true. There was a wee wifey at my group who to my knowledge has never lost more than a stone (despite being a good 5 stone overweight I'd guess) yet she's there every week, she take out countdown after countdown as she loves the recipe books you get with them and has a great time with her pals. Everyone knows Mo 🤣 She probably single handedly kept the leader afloat over the years!

I remember people having packets upon packets in their freezers....never managed to find them in a shop, probably just as well 🤣

There was a massive controversy in our local area over different sausages. My leader was the area manager and obviously had told everyone about them so we were all buying them up. They were only 1 syn but massive, like big hot dog sausages and really tasty. Then they changed the recipe and they suddenly became 5 syns, no mention of new recipe on the packet though so it was only when someone scanned them into the app and asked a question about the value did people click. Same thing, packets in freezers everywhere and people going mad eating loads of them at a time because they were so low!

There’s always a fad of some description with these clowns.
I remember there was a gluten free bread roll from sainsburys or something that every b cleared the shelves of cos they were a hefty “B” choice. This was Harold Prickard/Big Towers/ mummy/daddy Wright/JSG era. That was the most comical time.
