The Labour party is fundamentally undemocratic because it's not the MPs who have much control over direction it's the Unions who are the key funders and the NEC.Surely, SURELY, the Labour Party wouldn't be stupid enough to vote in Ms Rayner as PM?
This is how they end up with leaders who Unions bigwigs love but ordinary workers, unionised and non-unionised, rightfully identify as incompetent nutters eg Jeremy 'I love Hamas, me' Corbyn and Ed 'Brits pay more for their energy than anyone else in Europe because of my unworkable renewables policy, yay!' Miliband.
Fellow Tattlers who like me have either been in a Union or been bullied at work for declining to join one will know that they're rackets which exist to enrich the bigwigs (Arthur Scargill's multi-million Mayfair pad paid by his union whilst Welsh miners starved, anyone?) and platform stupid causes like burly fellas in dresses pretending to breastfeed in the workplace.
The Unions love Big Ange because she owes her career to them and will keep them in clover; they're the Mafia and she'll be their frightened restaurant owner paying protection money. So she may well get in. And then, out in the real world, the bond market will tit the bed.
@neroli Johnson's defenstration was a cowardly move and undemocratic because the 2019 landslide was all because of him. However since the UK media, civil service, third sector and every other Establishment you can think of all pays lip service to the classist, racist and sexist New Progressive Left, he had to go.
The New Progressive Left likes to pretend that the UK is constantly in danger of being swamped by evil right wing forces. Actually the class with all the power who's doing all the swamping is the Elite Progressive Left.
