Because she was part of the like of Katie Waissel, Rebecca Ferguson, Leona Lewis etc who have all spoken out about the experiences they've had on the show and/or being signed to his label. And now both she and Leona are back under his thumb. I can see why many people are finding it extremely odd, especially if you listened to the twitter space Ferguson and Waissell did where they say they are both hurt and confused as up until a few weeks ago she was ringing them and telling them her story so they could use it in the meetings they had with the government and now for intensive purposes she's working with the very people they are going against.

The X Factor had been dead on its feet for years before it was finally axed, and The Voice is only watchable in the first audition stages then that goes to shit and no one has ever had much of a career out of it apart from Becky Hill. People just aren't into the whole forced talent shows anymore. I'm amazed that BGT is still running, that needed axing 10 years ago too

A few years ago C4 ran a documentary celebrating "Channel 4 at 25" as part of their anniversary celebration strand. Mr Cowell appeared, with his friend, in an old clip from "Right to Reply" I think, to express how he was personally offended at the depiction of homosexuality in one of their programmes. Despite being uploaded to YT (in 11 or 12 parts, I think), one of the segments, 7, got taken down, so we can no longer enjoy flashbacks triggered by Mr Cowell & friend's 'period 80s outfits'.

Whatever he‘s got is obviously terminal or degenerative. He’s pretty much wasting away before our eyes. Someone on here said he had heart surgery a few years ago and it was kept out of the press, but who knows really. It’s very unlike him to remove himself from the spotlight like this thought isn’t it? He’s always thrived on it.

I wouldn't be overly surprised if they were already married but it would probably show something was up if they announced it that way and it does seem they are wheeling out old photos. It happens so often that a public figure suddenly gets married and then they are not around much longer. Its just speculation I guess but I mentioned this to my mum the other day and she was like nooo it would be in the papers if he was ill, bless her she believes everything she reads

He needs to sack his PR. He comes across as a controlling, bizarre little man, who isn't used to dealing with 'the little people'. His marriage comes across as a sham and his interactions with everyone are beyond awkward.

Just had a look. Every single comment 'congratulations'. No comments about the 'real' story allowed; it seems.
I hope we're wrong and he's just decided he wants to Lauren to marry him. However, to me, it just screams sorting out his affairs. If the marriage is a 'death bed' marriage, it doesn't mean he loves her any less (or any more!), of course.

I sadly agree with him stepping back from it all to avoid litigation. If the company is no longer active, there is no one to sue.
