Talking of St Ives, does anyone remember those facial scrub pads by Aapri in the 1980s?
One side was “soft” and the other side was rough to exfoliate your face and it had some sort of soap in it which lathered a little when wet.
Looking back at it now, the rough side was similar to a non-stick scouring dish pad! 😱

OMG yes! I remember getting some from Clearasil or a similar brand and they smelt like nail polish remover 😂 Good times 😂

I loved these as a teenager in the 80s, found some in a shop about 10 years ago so bought them for the nostalgia 😂
Also in the 80s/ early 90s I used to use a facial scrub by Vichy, it was amazingly abrasive (your face felt incredibly clean afterwards!) but long since discontinued.

I've just finished my CC serum from Aldi. Definitely recommended, it has a nice light texture and a lovely smell to it. Thankfully I bought another one last time it was a special buy so I still have one to use.

Aveeno oat gel moisturiser - I didn’t like this as a stand alone moisturiser, it wasn’t thick enough for me, and I felt like I had to use loads. Started putting it on before makeup, as a primer/hydration base before foundation and wow 😍😍 it creates a flawless base. Already repurchased

Garnier Whole Blends Ricewater Infusion Shampoo - the smell is divine, but it sadly dried out my scalp. If you don't have an issue with that (my scalp is nuts and reacts to many things so I'm no good measure) and are after a nice smelling shampoo, this might be one for you.

And two more!

  • Bioré sun Watery Essence SPF 50 Peony Edition. I know I keep going on about this sunscreen also in the other beauty thread. It is simply the best, repurchasing for years and years, opened the next one (regular edition) today.
  • Inkey List Omega Water Cream. It's an okay moisturizer, very bland. In fact, so bland I won't repurchase it. It's not bad though.

Dettol antibacterial soap my only empty this week. This has been crucial in dealing with my body acne and I suffer with hyperhidrosis so this just makes me super clean smelling fresh. Just opened a new bar.
It’s very drying so I have to whack a load of e45 on afterwards but worth it.

Do you know what, I'm going to get some. My skin is having a crisis at the moment and this might help clear it up!

I liked the smell of the Dettol soap but it made my body acne worse, I think becuase I have dry skin. I'm having more luck with an AHA body wash, early days but I'll stick with it a while

Can I ask which aha body wash you’re using? X

The Mario Badescu one. It's a bit pricy for essentially a shower gel at £8 for quite a small bottle (236ml) but I was getting desperate! I'll probably start looking around for something cheaper when this one runs out unless this one solves all my woes

Have you tried a spray? I’ve been using the dermalogica one and also use the ordinary toner in a spray bottle? Wouldn’t do it every day if you’re dry skinned but it’s great in small doses.

No I haven't yet but that sounds good, thanks! I was using up some old Biologique Recherche P50 on my legs (eta for ingrowing hairs) which is even more stupidly expensive than the body wash. It works well, sadly but it feels strangely sticky afterwards. I will check those two suggestions out (y)

Elemis Superfood Cleansing Butter - I bought this in a beauty box. I was ideal as a first cleanse to remove my make up and did this well. However, I couldn't smell any fragrance so it was joyless to use. I think there are cheaper balm cleansers that do the same job so I wouldn’t repurchase.

Disciple Dreamy Skin - I received this in a subscription box. It applied to my skin well but I didn’t notice any change. I’d not repurchase.

Aromatherapy Associates Anti Ageing Intensive Skin Treatment Oil - this was a GWP. After using this I realised that I’m not keen on rich oils on my face so I wouldn’t repurchase. I do have another travel sized bottle in my stash which I will use up.

OGX Kukui Oil shampoo - I liked this and might repurchase but I’ve lots of others to use up first.
T Gel shampoo - I don’t like this but it helps my psoriasis. Unfortunately I feel it strips my hair and leaves it in poor condition so I tend to only use it when my scalp is bad.
