29c in my flat at the mo, the poor babes are so hot and bothered! They're sleeping a lot and not really eating much but I have seen both of them drinking, I'm working from home this afternoon so I can have the windows open and make sure they won't escape (2nd floor flat!) but there's not really much of a breeze. Looking forward to it cooling down over the next couple of days, 32c outside is just too much.

All the vets on the tv have said, not to worry if cats aren’t drinking, they aren’t big drinkers.
Nala doesn’t drink much, but have been putting water in her wet food,,, but only a small
Amount otherwise she won’t touch it 🙄 she gets tuna water too when we have tuna.
she’s been out more than in, but again the vets have said cats know what to do etc but it doesn’t stop you worrying! Especially black cats!

My stupid little boy was lying in the sun from the window when I left, his sister has more sense and was in the shade relaxing 😂

Our three are sprawled out on the limestone floor. They are drinking, but mainly staying in the shade and conserving energy.

One tip I use (if they let you) is to dab or wipe their paws with something damp like a washcloth. Apparently it's quite cooling for them.

I stroked little girl with an ice pop (the kind in long plastic tubes) as I was about to open it, she seemed to find it nice. Little boy just seemed annoyed 😂

Jimmy decided to stay upstairs even though it was very hot while the downstairs was lovely and cool.

The weather broke here earlier with a couple of thunderstorms, much to Jimmy's displeasure, so he demanded to know what I was going to do about it.

We brought Boss #3 back to the vet bc the antibiotics (she thankfully did take all the doses) she was on didn't totally clear up her illness. We saw a different vet and they suggested a blood test for a few different things. Unfortunately she tested FIV positive. So that's why she she is all snooty and breathing through her mouth.
All in all I think we are in a good situation to keep her safe and stress free. She is indoor only, as is her 2 sisters (different litters). They all get on well so we aren't worried about fights with bites. We are already giving her probiotics, lysine and using the nebuliser on her. The vet gave her an antibiotic injection and wants to see her again in few weeks.
She still isn't the right weight to get spayed. Vet said they'll just keep eye on her weight and when she is stable, they'll get her sorted.
Lol the vet took her into the back clinic to take the blood and came back telling us they she wouldn't let him do it and so he'll have to give her a sedative 😹 so we waited around for a few hours while that was happening. We were like, yeah she doesn't like to be held yet, but we're working on it. Also she doesn't like getting pills but we crush them in treats and she'll take that. She's just very wriggly!
I think the antibiotic injection has helped bc already her eye is less crusty/weeping, and her nose is the same. The little shaved patches on her arms and neck look fine, not irritated, she isn't bothered by them.
I'm shocked and worried but hopefully she will improve and there won't be any flare ups. We believe she got it from her mammy while pregnant/born bc they were in a cat colony.

Look at her darling little face!
I think she'll have many adventures in her caravan, bless her.
She hasn't been much of a darling recently 🤣 terrible twos have kicked in. This morning I was woken up to her screaming like something was wrong, no she just wanted attention... it is lucky she's cute.

Susan's been like that since we got her at 4 months, she's 12 now! Always shouting the odds about something.

Boss #3 was at the vet for her check up earlier this week and she has gained a good bit of weight in the past 2 weeks, more than I expected! So she is now just over 2kg! The vet wants to wait another 2 weeks before she gets spayed, to see how her breathing is and see if she can gain a bit more. But later on that day, she started to meow which she usually doesn't, and she was rolling on the floor and raising her bum. So she is in heat. Google says it'll last about a week. She has been quieter since and hasn't been rolling on the floor much.
The other 2 seemed concerned for her the 1st night, but now they're all relaxed.
Don't worry, the other 2 are female and already spayed. Also none of them can escape. They're all safe 🐈🐈⬛🐈
