Susan was going crazy an hour ago. Bouncing off the walls, scratching the couch and screaming. Now she's sitting quietly like a good cat, being all sweet.

This last week little Bella has had a tick attach it self to her muzzle . We couldn’t really tell what it was to start with as we couldn’t get close enough to see ( every time we went to take a look she wriggled away or waltzed off ).
I showed a couple of people who a confirmed it was a tick .. so went to go and buy a tick remover tool from pets at home . We tried to dislodge it Friday evening ( and failed ). Bella was immediately suspicious of us and spent the Saturday morning/afternoon avoiding us like the plague. As it rained all day she eventually came back home mid afternoon looking soggy and a bit miserable. We shut her door ( cat flap) .. gave her a few dreamies and then when she had finished dad collared her and caught her in towel. Mum held her whiskers back and i attempted to dislodge the tick.. There was a lot of wriggling and cross faces at the start but she did settle down and stopped wriggling. It took me 4 attempts to pull the blighter off her face.. and when i finally did manage to dislodge it she gave a sad little cry. I assume that it must have hurt
We then let her go and she shot off upstairs for a few mins - meanwhile all the humans were left trying to get over the traumatic experience downstairs. Fortunately i have pulled the whole thing out - and the bite is healing nicely. There is no inflammation/ any signs of any problems we are glad about this. The tick got squished to its death outside.
We decided we need to find a treatment for her - the flea stuff we use didnt include tick treatment so a decision was made to get a vet prescription. My aunty uses Felepreva on her maine coone ( Scout) and advised us to use this.. Fast forward to Monday I called the vet who booked us in Tuesday morning for a check up, the treatment and jabs ( separate side story here ) . Tuesday morning we had difficulty in catching her and putting her in the cat carrier - we eventually trapped her in a bedroom and we put her in the carrier. Luckily - all went well at the vets .
Bella was very complicit and a very good little girl ( unlike with us at home). Fortunately Bella is in very good health - teeth, ears, tummy all good , tick bite healing nicely and a healthy weight. After a bit of to and fro - we used Bravecto instead Felepreva (based on vets advice ) - he also wormed her and gave her a jab ( we are to take her back in a month) - for Cat diseases ( i cant remember what for.. but for protection).
side story - we tried back in March to get her booster done and we failed on 3 occasions so ended up not taking her as it was becoming too stressful. We ended up buying a new top opening cat carrier as we felt this might be easier to put her in. So all in all - its been a very stressful few days for humans and Bella. I think when we take her back for the 2nd part of the vaccination i might ask dad to put her in the carrier - he is much more " no faffing, just gets it done" whereas i prob dont help because i am worrying about upsetting Bella.
also.. duck TICKS.. I have not had to remove one before and having to remove from her muzzle was extremely tricky. It really could not have chosen a worse place to attach.

Her real name is Boudicca, I don't know if you've ever watched Futurama but there's an episode where Leela has a boil on her a that looks like Susan Boyle.
My mate and I were drunk and kept calling her Susan and it's just stuck.

ive called her bunny since I got her and then other times random names come out my mouth and im thinking that's new I can always tell when my little one, Millie, is about to go nuts.
