Does anyone have any tips to get their cat to drink more water? Cleo doesn't drink any, it worries me. I tried to give her hydration sachets but she never touched them.

Do you have a water fountain?
I tried this, cats were scared of it 😂 two tips my vet gave were keep the water veryyy far away from the food (they have an instinct not to drink near water sources like rivers as they'd get contimatinted) and also have a couple around your home (I have 3 dotted around my small flat 😂) but also always leave them in the same place, obviously they don't usually drink much but when they are thirsty they need to know where it is, as they can't smell it. Finally, cats love rain water apparently so if you can collect that... otherwise I wouldn't worry

Some cats like to drink out of our water glass. Maybe fill a glass with water and keep it beside you, you take a few sips and then see if kitty follows. It might take a few tries, it may not even work. But my previous cat used to love taking sips from my husbands water glass 😹

If you're really worried, tuna water from a can mixed with water helps but if they have wet food that's lots of moisture anyway tbh

Yeah, she gets two a day but tends to really only finish one.
Lou, if you're concerned about her kidneys there is a powder you can add to her food that helps prevent UTIs.
I'd take a photo but I'm trapped under Susan atm (it's very cold here.)
I'm not sure where my husband got it from.

Tbh, my old cat Hari as far as I knew, never drank water from her bowl despite me leaving a fresh bowl everyday and she lived until she was 18. That's a lot of washing up and replenishing a water bowl for her never to use it. That said, my old house had a very poorly laid patio with dips in the concrete from which she'd drink rain water so at least I knew she was getting some fluid!

I have both indoor & outdoor water for madam fusspot!

She doesn't seem much bothered by the indoor stuff, but she will spite drink the water at the side of my house that I put out for the passing farm cats!

Ill have a look online! It's not so much a worry now just for when she gets older. Louie drank water and im not used to a cat not doing it!

If it makes you feel any better it's normally male cats who have kidney problems. Something to do with the way their urinary tract is laid out?
My Sue barely drinks water as well, cats are funny like that.

I hear and sometimes see Cleo drinking water, but I never hear Evie drinking at all. She must drink when I'm either out or asleep as the vet has said at every check up that she's well hydrated! They have gravy wet food so I do add extra water there, mainly because Cleo gets terrible cystitis (meds every day to keep it at bay!) but also so I can be 100% sure Evie is getting some water 😂
