It’s really interesting, would definitely recommendNot yet. I saw an interview with her around the time the book was released. Pretty harrowing to listen to.

This has been the case for me. I have also lost my appetite for being engrossed in true crime/murders since having children. Same could be said for horror films and anything involving gore.Yes, I do find it fascinating. I find unsolved serial killings/murders really interesting, the speculation and mystery of it. I have lost my appetite for it a bit since having children, I use to be quite detached from what I was watching/reading, now it can really unsettle me and play on my mind. I still do enjoy is for the most part, but I have to avoid some cases with children involved.
I’m listening to a podcast at the moment ‘Nighttime’ they have a few really interesting cases they follow. Not serial killers as such, but they cover the Novia Scotia recent spree killing and the Valentine Day Massacre plot in which he interviews the perpetrator of the failed plot. Based in Canada so mostly cover Canada cases.
I always wondered how the rest of the family were doing. Did the rest of the children stil grow up together or were they separated? And did they have to change their names/identities?Have you read the one written by their daughter?
Have you read the one written by their daughter?I have a long standing interest in the case of Fred and Rose West. I’ve read so many books, articles and watched documentaries. I think some day in the not too distant future, more bodies will be found in fields around Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and beyond, in relation to this.
Me too. I have no words for how cold that "man" is to do that to his family. It seems to me he got a taste of 'freedom' while they were away and in his twisted, selfish brain decided he could get away with it all and live a new life scot-free. Thank god for her friend raising the alarm so early! I couldn't believe his mum forgiving him either.Just watched the Netflix documentary on this
I am not obsessed with them. However, it is interesting how they turn out that way, what has led them to be totally brutal.Anyone obsessed with them, like wanting to know why they commit these murders and how their brain ticks.
It's definitely worth a read! Not yet. I saw an interview with her around the time the book was released. Pretty harrowing to listen to.
Completely agree. I didn’t know Ian admitted there. It was always my theory. I think he played on the fact he was keeping a secret but in actual fact he didn’t know. Totally agree with you again aboit Myra. Had she not met Ian she probably would t have took this path. But I do not blame him for her actions. She knew full well what she was doing. Myra was used. Her being a woman and being more approachable to lure these childrenDid Ian tell the police he didn’t know? I’m sure I heard he would play a game, say he’ll show them where he is then he never did show them?
What I find fascinating, is that Myra used to babysit some of her neighbors children before she met Ian. I think had she not met him, she would never have considered this or something similar. She would have lived a quiet life, raised a family and we would never have known her. She’s absolutely evil and 100 percent responsible for what she did, I’m not disputing that. But I think my point is how she became a murderer by circumstance. It’s quite scary to think someone could get you into such a way of thinking.
I think Ian always had it in him. He used to be cruel to animals as a teen I believe. They say that many murderers initially start on animals.
It’s just so so sadThank you for reminding me about that Im going to give it a watch. It baffles and terrifies me that someone could do this to their family![]()
Around the time that the story broke about the Wests, I was doing a printing course at an art college, which was only a few streets away from Cromwell Street where the Wests lived. I never visited the street, whilst the investigation was going on, I thought it might be too ghoulish to do that. For me, the Wests have fascinated me since a very young teenager. I think I have read every single book and watched every single documentary, one book I read went into the full, detailed childhoods of both, which really captured my interest. However unless new bodies are uncovered (I'm very convinced there are more) ... I have pretty much covered them in their entirety.
what channel was this on? I might give it a watch.Did anyone watch that programme last night about Rose West and Myra Hindley? It was about the friendship they formed whilst they were in the same prison.
God, the worst people to end up pairing together, both child killers.![]()

I find Your comment fascinating. Moore murders have always been a big interest of mine and I agree aboit Myra, had she not met Ian she probably wouldn’t have taken this path. Having said that I don’t blame him for her actions. She was fully aware: she was used maybe brainwashed to lure these children. She was besotted with Ian. Once in prison she done a 360 on him and tried to blame him and this backfired on her. I know you say she had plenty of Opportunity to hurt children but didn’t at that time but I will never defend her. Ian or not she had her own mind and knew what she was doing. I don’t believe in psychopaths. I think they wanted to do it so they did. Their downfall was Ian trying to involve Dave smith their brother in law and this backfired on them. It is believed he was growing tired of Myra and wanted a new acquaintance. Unbeknownst to him, this was their downfall100% agree. My aunt (married into family) and her siblings were babysat by Myra quite regularly. She says she remembers her being a nice girl, just normal, nothing significant sticks in her mind. She remembers her babysitting for other families too, like u say. Myra would have had plenty of opportunity to hurt children and didn’t (or as far as has been reported). There’s definitely been a trigger for to change her behaviour. It may well be she thought about / planned these horrible things in her head but had she not got involved with him, she might never have acted them out. You’ll never know with these types of cases, I think it gets worse the more u think about it tbh.
Exactly. That information should never be accessible by the public and how did it even get there? Which leads me again to the police theory. Have a look at crimescene to courtroom on YouTube. His videos are fascinating. Even goes back to the crimescene and compares day and night time. Very eery.Darren Nichols is a complete fantasist! a good book but i dont think Steel and Whome did it either.
ive seen the mortuary photosi stumbled on them by accident..Surely police murder case photos should not be turning up on the internet! they've beem in there for quite a number of years so it had to have been someone within the police who put them there! I'll check out youtube !!
