Omg it really irks me that she’s chatting on about men’s mental health and men’s body image (recycling that body image post rather than creating a new one and expanding on her thoughts, chance would be a fine thing) and not actually linking to any specialised voices on these areas?! Like acting as if she’s a bloody authority on these topics despite having NO LIVED EXPERIENCE of men’s mental health or men’s body image issues. She should actually be amplifying men’s voices on this, centering their experiences and their (hopefully much more developed and interesting) thoughts on these subjects, rather than placing herself front and centre 🙄 her watered down, doing-it-for-the-likes, barely there opinions and thoughts are just so dull and ultimately do a disservice to the topic she’s trying to talk about, because she’s only jumping on the bandwagon to have an opinion on the issue of the moment. I think it’s so important for influencers/mental health advocates/whatever they want to call themselves to actually link to professional resources or creators in these areas, especially if they don’t have any lived experiences of the topics!!

I've been looking at Liv's instagram since I read the body-positive thread. Out of all the accounts mentioned in that thread this is the one that's intrigued me the most because, as you all have discussed, there is so much that's bizarre.

Why doesn't she iron clothes? How does she get any clothing company to give her freebies or pay for sponsored content when she won't even iron the clothes? It doesn't even feel like she thinks about coordinating the items - it feels like she receives them, throws them on, takes pictures and that's it. I took a look at her TikTok and she got some Missguided freebies and the level of thought in the reel was non-existent. She just exclaimed about how lovely the thing was, lots of 'just look at this X, isn't it just lovely, thank you Missguided' and acting and as though Missguided had gifted her things because they are friends and not as a business transaction.

It also strikes me that she doesn't know how to style for her current figure at all. It's not the easiest figure to style for, fair enough, because it's all on her tummy and her chin, rather than spread all over or on her hips and thighs. Liv currently seems to be mostly wearing summer full-length dresses that have no shape - it's not selling me plus-size fashion to me at all. Add to that the greasy hair and the bad make-up, I don't know why any fashion company would collab with her.

Then there's all the 'I gained weight and I don't care', 'I've gained weight and I'm still happy.' I don't think that's true at all, I don't think she is happy. If she was happy, she wouldn't have to spend all this time convincing herself and us that she is. I also don't like this message of 'you're gaining and gaining weight? Don't worry because you're amazing and so strong!' and 'Stayed in bed and not washed your hair all week? That doesn't matter because you're still a boss witch.' It's like, I get it - I would never shame someone for putting on weight, especially during difficult times like the pandemic, and she's right that a person's value isn't based on what they weigh. But the more weight you have the more likely you are, especially when partnered with an inactive lifestyle, that you will have health complications. Surely if you love and value the person then you'd want to help them be healthier and happier by helping them out of their rut, rather than telling them the rut is fine and they're doing great.

I put on a lot of weight due to the pandemic and I was miserable about it - and speaking to a friend they told me about online exercise classes they'd been doing during the pandemic. I signed up and pretty quickly I was sleeping better and over the months I've lost weight and gained muscle. It's made me feel much better than the 'it's great being fat' message because it's not great being fat. You're just more tired and everything is more difficult.

I would say r.e if Liv is on sertraline that I found that pretty awful for weight gain. It gave me a much bigger appetite than I have metabolism and Liv might be experiencing that side effect also. But then it appears from this thread that she hardly ever remembers to take it. 😅

I’ve been reading a lot these days that it you want to lose weight and work on your body then you are ‘fatphobic’. Apparently health isn’t a thing anymore

I’m sorry, but if Liv outsources the actual production of her merch - sorry her brand - to an external agency who also deal with packaging and I’m presuming actually sending out orders? And James designs all products, branding, website, and sorts out photography of the products (all alongside his full time job?), then what on earth does Liv actually do for her brand?! Manage the insta page? God she needs to get a grip! Lots of small businesses have had close their offices or shop locations because they can’t afford rent and overheads, and a myriad of physical reasons tangibly impacted by COVID. She’s out here acting like outsourcing and managing an insta page has got her on her knees for crying out loud

She presumed selling crappy merchandise would be "easy", and that they would make money daily and sell out. She thought that because she has a few thousand followers she would be able to sell any old tat but her followers are obviously not as stupid as she thought or she only has a handful of genuine followers and they were the only ones who bought something or maybe Liv, your clothes are tit and people can't afford to buy tit at the minute?!!!!!

She’s got 132k people following her, but less than 10,000 of them have bothered to follow ‘Pidge’. It seems to me that she just massively overestimated how much of a demand there would be. I’m sure the pandemic will have had an impact, as it has on all businesses, but I think her main issue is the lack of interest.

Came across as a guilt-trip beg to me. Most adults are not going to throw money on influencer merch especially when it's just a standard T or hoodie. You need a really young audience for that stuff because they are still really gullible.

So, she went out last night with Mam, Aunts cousins etc. By the sounds of it, they all had a good time, drinks etc and then they’re all going about their day today and Liv has to do a full post about sobriety 🙄
FFS give it a rest.
1. everything that everyone does has to be about her
2. “You can still have a good time and a dance without drinking” (subtext - you’re a better person if you don’t)

She acts like she was an alcoholic

She had issues with binge drinking

That's not sobriety....it's just not drinking

Imagine doing an ad for a product and trying really hard to sell it to all your followers and not know anything about it? She didn’t check how to wash the period pants?! It’s a product that you are trying to sell for money Liv, make sure you do some reading up on the basics before you flog it 🙄

I mean, were you even feeling suicidal if you didn’t document it on your tumblr, complete with artsy black & white photo of your fully made up gothic sad face, making sure to get the ‘depression’ & ‘death’ hashtags in there?! 🙄🤦🏽‍♀️

People experiencing a genuine mental health crisis aren’t sat on tumblr curating their bleeping hashtags. Not in my experience anyway. Tragic attention seeking throbber. She makes a mockery of mental illness.
