‘You better know yourself, little girl’ is what always comes to mind when she’s mentioned. Couldn’t stand her but agree she was a brilliant housemate. She also became friends with Charlie Brooker after BB which I always thought was a weird pairing.

There's a tin of carnation in the kitchen cupboard, we bought it thinking it'd be a treat like when we were kids, 2 years it's sat there and not once have we fancied opening it.

I might have to take a trip to the north lincs homestead, I now really really want haslet, plum bread and Lincolnshire poacher cheese. No celebs round there though....oh the bloke who played Mike Dixon in Brookside was sometimes spotted in Barton on Humber in the 90s because he was good mates with a local lad and would come over.

Now sip that cold stewed brew!

My late Auntie lived in Lincoln. She gave my mum the recipe for plum cake. I can't remember if now but I remember all the ingredients were cooked in a pan! Didn't have plums in. It was dried fruit.

I hate that everything is bloody biscoff flavoured these days. Biscoff, salted caramel, and pistachio are apparently the only flavours in existence

I'm very fond of orange flavoured Club biscuits and I noticed they also make a salted caramel version, so I bought some.

Some lukewarm celeb gossip (apologies for interrupting the food chat)

1- I HATE Lily Allen and her inability to acknowledge her privilege. This dislike worsened after I was in Pizza Express in Waterloo many years ago and she came in with a big group. Our waitress ignored us for the rest of the meal, so when we realised she’d missed one of our pizzas off the bill we paid up dead quick and left.

2- Micheal Ward from Top Boy’s court case for grape has just started (actually that’s not luke warm, it’s red hot)

Seconded. They are vile. Why does everything have to be "salted" caramel these days? However did we survive when we just had plain ol' caramel?

This is why I find him quite attractive. He’s always stood up for stuff like this. He was there for the Hillsborough campaign and was amazing after the Manchester Arena attack. I said then he’d be great as PM. Prepared to eat my words but I think he’s a man of the people and not a nodding dog.

I'm not sure if this is a joke going over my head or if you genuinely believe you must recook cooked black pudding before eating?

It absolutely is not raw in anyway as long as it comes in one of those sausage skin things which it's boiled in, as it's cooked and fully pasteurised. Absolutely no issues with eating ot and frying only warms it and enhances the texture flavour as noone wants cold stuff on their fried breakfast.

Absolutely nothing wrong with eating in cold in other formats which is not a fry up.

Fried in bacon large for a doubly porky crispy meat treat.
My dad used to eat it cold with a blob of mustard on. I only really eat it as above or sometimes if I have some and I’m making scotch eggs, it goes in with the sausage meat.

I can highly recommend M&S Lemon Eclairs for any lemony fans. Lemon icing instead of chocolate on the top and a thread of lemon curd running through the cream. Absolutely elite!

My friend’s 17yo son took his life on her birthday. The letter he left was terrible, he had so much anger and hatred inside him, all directed at her. She never recovered and died a few years later due to alcoholism.

God that's just awfully tragic

Yes it must be boiled? before being put in the pkt but still needs grilled or fried before eating. I don't think much people would eat black pudding with a wobbly egg and bacon without re cooking.

I do - buy it from Bury in a ring then take it home, slice and make it into a sandwich - delicious. I don' want it cooking again.
