A friend of mine works for a medium sized film festival, part of her job is liaising with actors, and trying to get them to come for talks etc. A few years ago, she contacted pierce brosnanns people, and within a couple of days, he contacted her himself and said he would be delighted to attend the event. Anyway she sent his assistant the details, flights hotel etc, and he called her back( pierce), and said he would pay for all of his expenses himself, plus make a donation to the organisation. The time came for him to arrive, and apparently he was just so lovely. After his talk and drinks shindig, he brought the whole team out for dinner, The worst was Colm Meeney, apparently his demands were on Maria Carey levels.

When I left school and went back home my brother had finished his apprenticeship and started tailoring. My cousin was friends with Mick Jagger from school and showed him some of his designs. Long story short, he made clothes for Mick as a family we got to know Mick, but more so Marianne. She used to stay with my brother when Mick was being obnoxious. She always went back to him, even though she was talented in her own right. My father said that Mick resented her background and was deliberately mean towards her money wise. He is known for being a tightwad now. She was a stoned mess in about 1969 when I knew her. But lovely and kind. She brought suitcases of Jean Muir dresses and gave lots to my mum. Sent a big box of bottles of Scotch for my dad for his retirement.
I still think about her and wonder if she remembers a tiny village in West Yorkshire where she walked my dog and had baking afternoons with my mum.

I met the gorgeous Tom Hardy on a night out in Richmond a few years back. Me and my friends were waiting for a taxi outside the lovely restaurant Rock and Rose when Mr Hardy strolled past, dressed very inconspicuously, walking his two dogs. He stopped for a good chat and a few photos! Such a nice guy and even more handsome in real life although much shorter than I thought he’d be!

I suppose that modelling is a weird business in which loads of pretty young women are competing to catch a break and consequently are vulnerable to being exploited, but where were the girls’ parents? Surely Stephanie Seymour’s parents had a duty of care to her, and should have stepped in when their 15 year old daughter started a relationship with a man who was not only in his forties and married with a family, but was the head of her agency? Unless they just saw the dollar signs and unfathomably thought that it was a great opportunity for her. Seymour certainly got the good jobs, although she was gorgeous and would have been successful anyway.

I read that Jerry Hall got started in modelling in the early 70s when she got some compensation for an accident and spent it on a plane ticket from her home in Texas to the south of France, alone, aged 18 or something (she clearly had balls!). She was spotted on the beach at St Tropez by an agent, who tried it on with her of course, but fobbed him off and moved to Paris (again aged 18, not speaking French and travelling alone!) where she became super successful. The Turner family have certainly produced more than their share of gossip. I know that Anthea’s sister, Wendy, had gone bankrupt a while back (she has featured in more than one personal finance book as a cautionary tale: in one she talks about flying first class, drinking champagne and ‘going gloriously bankrupt’), but I read up on the back story and it’s barmy.
So Wendy Turner gets a few presenting jobs in the 1990s, probably from working Anthea’s and Peter Powell’s connections, Pet Rescue and a short-lived game show with Anthea I think, and makes pretty good money, as seemed to be common at the time (I don’t know whether it’s true, but I have heard several former TV presenters complain that there isn’t as much money in TV jobs as there used to be. Do they scale down their lifestyle? Do they hell. They send their sons to a private school, at a cost of £35k a year. They also lived in an expensive rented house in London. Next, and this is where it starts getting really barmy, he decides to turn himself into a pound shop Alan Sugar/humanitarian (the type of “humanitarian” who personally benefits from their endeavours; we’ve seen a few of them recently). He announces that he’s a ‘consultant’ in a project to bring together a ‘global aviation company’ with the government of a West African country (unspecified) to supply an air ambulance.
Eh??? If you were a government and/or a proper aviation business, why would you think, “I know what we need to get this project off the ground. A washed up bankrupt actor who used to be in Minder. Yes, that is exactly who we need.”
The project went ahead all right. Without Webster, who claimed that he should have made £1.4 million out of it. Why would an African government pay him £1.4 million? Why would an aviation business give him £1.4 million of their margin? What value could somebody like him possibly add to such a project?

I’ve had a quick flick through my books on Old Hollywood:
1. As a young performing child, Shirley Temple’s mother would kick her out of bed late at night to dance and sing at Hollywood parties. If the youngster complained or missed a step, she would get beaten. As an adult she became a US ambassador.
2. She was also involved in a race controversy while performing with Bill Bojangles - they had to make sure their characters would never touch and there was a whole bunch of controversy when the fella’s elbow brushed the child actress during a dance number down some stairs.
3. John Wayne was terrified that Stalin would have him assassinated during the Cold War. It was something the despot actually looked into. Randomly: anyone remember the movie in which six foot plus republican white guy Wayne played Genghis Khan? Probably banned now with current events, but should have been banned sooner for being so terrible and tone deaf. Wayne also dodged the draft on account of having too many children.
4. Frank Sinatra once tried to bully Dean Martin at a party. Martin promptly floored him with a single punch. Sinatra tried to get some of his gangster friends to rough up Martin, but they reminded him that unlike Sinatra, Martin being of Italian heritage and a favourite of their boss, meant that Martin was Sinatra’s own problem to sort out.
5. Dean Martin loved golf and would get up early for it, even calling in noise complaints against Rat Pack‘s venues if his colleagues’ partying woke him up.
6. Errol Flynn was discovered in his home country of Australia but he sold the ticket he was given out of the country so he could go partying instead. He had a few low level scrapes with the law and ended up being personally escorted on the journey by a studio’s agent to make sure he didn’t get distracted.
7. In Norman Wisdom‘s own autobiography, he boasted about using his small stature to pass himself off as a child for as long as he could so he could get away with groping women and sticking his head up their skirts.
There’s more nuggets about but those are the standouts so far.

Firstly, let me make it clear, that I would never blindly defend anyone just because I know them, or if I was a “Fan”. I have been a victim of rape, so I’m hardly going to defend someone who actually is a rapist. And what Russell and Jonathan Ross did to Andrew Sachs and his grand daughter was awful, and they both apologised - and lost their jobs over it, and rightly so. Back to Jim Carey. He actually took a STD test, and he admitted giving Cathriona STD’s by having unprotected sex with her. He gave her money to pay for her hospital treatment, and went to Ireland to be a pallbearer at her funeral. I’d rather point out that JC was really taken for a ride by a clearly mentally unwell woman than be saying “oh Russell’s just a joker!” or something - but I would never criticise anyone for defending him because they were a fan - that’s their right on here

I read in J Randy Taraborelli’s biography how he wooed Jordy’s mum and stepdad by presenting himself as this sweet, generous, unique man, with the soul of a child. He gave them lots of expensive gifts, freebies and holidays and treated them like VIPs. He treated Jordy like a romantic parter and would walk along with his arm around him totally in their own bubble. He also wooed Jordy and other children by giving them everything children want but can’t have, like junk food, unlimited toys, staying up all night playing and watching movies etc. So obviously they loved him and wanted to be with their idol.Some of the defences MJ fans use are unbelieveable. They even give him a pass for him declaring that he shares his bed with boys because he loves them (re the Martin Bashir interview).
Can't say I'm a fan, but I remember seeing footage of him at some Music Awards, openly hugging and jiggling a boy on his knee, in front of cameras, and it made my skin crawl. This was at the height of rumours swirling around and seemed almost....defiant, arrogant.
Which parent in their right mind lets a little kid stay overnight, unsupervised, with a grown man? If it was a lone guy on a council estate tongues would be wagging - if it was even allowed to occur in the first place. There would be uproar and the man would probably be run out of town.
The allure of the showbiz lifestyle and "bribes" of parents' mortgages being paid off, new cars, trips abroad were the sweeteners. Then the slow isolation and detachment of the children from mum and dad took over - to the point where a young boy was sharing a hotel suite for weeks with MJ!! I don't know how some of those parents can sleep at night, because they are complicit.
There wasn't even a pattern of intense fascinations/grooming of the parents happening with little girls (not that gender really matters), young, prepubescent boys were his "thing". Then he would drop the boy/his family like a hot brick when he got bored (make of that what you will, maybe they got too mature?). Liberace did something similar with his lovers, but at least they were of age, even though the behaviour was still manipulative and callous.
It's a common conversation nowadays, to consider whether an artist's creative output can still be appreciated whilst despising the person's nature or private life. I felt the same way about Peter Cook after reading his ex-wife Wendy's biography and his awful treatment of her (coercing her into sexual fantasies she wasn't comfortable with, etc). Still love Pete & Dud and admire Cook in many ways, but not the person.

Btw, I hung around with a guy for years who was an MJ nut and he always went on about how Michael never had a childhood, and was a gentle, simple soul and he would never hurt a child because he was a juvenile (mentally) himself. How does he KNOW? There's just no way a sane human being can say this behaviour is okay.
He fits the bill of a child abuser - he had a modus operandi, he groomed the parents and children, then moved on to another crush when he became besotted with another boy. He repeated this cycle time and again.
*Here's an example of a fan "proving" that there was no "paedophilic intent" from MJ, re Jordy Chandler at the World Music Awards. But there's a crap-load of similar fan-made videos on Youtube.
When the mum questioned MJ, he burst into tears and made her feel guilty for even beginning to think that. It was a while before she allowed sleepovers, but MJ was asking her nearly from the beginning. Jordy’s little sister was very rarely invited to sleepovers, and when she was she slept in a different section of the bedroom. These invites to the sister soon stopped.
Eventually MJ isolated Jordy from his family and they didn’t see him for weeks at a time. MJ became the authority, and the mum was asking *him* for access to her son. Jordy said that MJ told him they would be jailed if he told anyone what was going on, and that adults don’t understand their special relationship due to “conditioning”.
Jordy said in his interview with a psychiatrist that he tried to tell his mum once what was happening, and she didn’t believe him. His dad (who did not have custody) was the one who raised concerns, but thought that his son might be gay, in which case he would accept the “relationship”, (showing his ignorance about gay children and their equal need for protection).
After Jordy confirmed that he was straight, his dad started taking action, including taking his son to an expert in false accusations, who concluded that Jordy was telling the truth. They did begin to go down the legal route, but ended up settling in a civil suit. In US law it is actually preferred for people to settle cases civilly.
It’s laughable that the “didn’t have a childhood”, and child-at-heart bollocks are used as an excuse. It’s very common for paedophiles to see themselves as permanent children, and also for them to have had bad childhoods. It actually makes MJ look even more guilty. As does the fact that despite being a multimillionaire idol, he was single until his PR marriage to Lisa Marie in his mid-30’s.
Also the fact that exclusively targeted beautiful little boys in a certain age range to be his “special friends”. If he just loved children so much, where were the girls, the under-7’s or over-14’s, or the ugly boys?
And why did these friendships just have to involve sleepovers? It was the main focus of his “relationships”. If any man other than MJ ever dared to sleep with unrelated children, he would be dragged through the coals.

They were promoted as three friends from London who started a girl group, but actually Siobhan and Mutya got signed as solo artists first and then were put into a group with Mutya’s friend Keisha (who went along to one of Mutya’s recording sessions) by management, who also managed All Saints at the time.
Siobhan was bullied so badly by the other two (apparently they had their own “language” that they’d speak to each other that Siobhan didn’t understand) that while they were in Japan doing press, she walked out, managed to get to the airport and book a plane ticket home despite not speaking the language and didn’t speak to either of them for years. There were rumours at the time that she’d excused herself to go to the toilet and climbed out of the window, never to return, although she’s denied that’s how it happened since.

Michael Jackson is 100% a diddler. It doesn’t matter that some of his accusers have sought money etc. This is the whole “perfect victim” bullshit where victims have to be saints to be believed. Why the fuck shouldn’t they seek money for what they’ve endured? If they denied themselves millions on principle, they would still be attacked by his deranged fans. The fact is, Jacko paid an absolute fortune out to his accusers, despite the fact this would make him look guilty. Rape victims are rarely believed and he could afford the best PR and legal teams, so he must have been very worried to do that. It’s absurd that he spinned the Jordy Chandler payment as “extortion”; extortion is a crime and Chandler was never accused of it.
Jordy also accurately described Jacko’s unique multicoloured penis to the police. The only inaccuracy was he said he was circumcised, which is hard for a child to understand, and tell the difference especially when erect. Jordy’s description was so accurate that the prosecution during the Neverland trial wanted to present the description and police penis photos as evidence, but the defence successfully blocked it under a technicality that it would be “salacious”.
His fans are nuts and would not have believed it even if he had come out and admitted it himself. I remember during the Neverland investigations they found the semen of 4 different males on his bed, one of them belonging to MJ. There was also blood of an unknown male. Reality - about six pages of chat about chocolate bars. Only want to know about chocolate if a celebrity has a fetish for sticking Maltesers under their foreskin please.
Celeb stuff - I have also heard from a friend who works in daytime TV that both Eamonn Holmes and Piers Morgan are both really nice. Very professional and have loads of time for people. I was surprised by this as they both seem so arrogant.
