I think their sons are something like 15 and 12. I could be wrong but at those ages I doubt Billie is saying 'you can't see your dad'. More likely they're the ones making the decision for themselves.

I just found it a tired rehash of "mildly depressed woman seeks validation through men." Traditionally, this meant validation through marriage, then Bridget Jones updated it to boyfriends, and Fleabag updated it to just sex. And it was so very smug.

Alun Cochrane came up earlier - I saw him doing stand-up years ago and he was very funny. He did a skit about being 6'3" and an inch too short to be medically classed as a giant.

I loved Fleabag, Normal People and Miranda. I also have a 75” TV. Am I going to hell in a handcart?

Yeah I'm nearly sure he's alluded to it being the kids, tried to blame Billie for parental alienation, but if my dad went to court to stop me taking medication for a diagnosed condition and then told the twitter verse this, not respecting my privacy and letting the world know about my diagnosis, I doubt I'd want anything to do with him either.

I may be in a minority but I like Billie Piper's acting. She's great in Secret Diary of a Call Girl and Penny Dreadful.

Frankie Boyle is a massive cunt, tries ti act like is is a good guy now when most of his famous comedy was taking the piss out of people like Harvey- a child at the time. Yet now he does a lot of hand wringing like he is one of the good guys.

I saw a TV programme this week about the romantic poets. He was explaining about a poem called Michael, written by Wordsworth, and crying with genuine emotion. It showed me a side of Frank Skinner I'd never seen before and it was quite touching.
What is the programme? I’d like to watch it.

i don’t like frank but I do like poetry and his passion for it is softening my stance on him!

Depends on your bookcase? Have a vague memory of once reading that “one”is middle class if the bookcase is bigger than the tv! We have 1 tiny, ancient tv and huge bookcases but we watch ridiculous amounts of telly, it’s literally always on.

I agree. I don’t get the hype over her. I mean yeah Lozza Fox is a knob but I see all this love and sympathy for her being married to him and I just think no, I feel sorry for him! She just gives off a nasty vibe to me! Always has!
She's really sweet. My brother is good mates with her last partner Johnny. He's also a lovely bloke. Lawrence Fox is a total cunt.

Wordsworth & Coleridge Road Trip with Frank Skinner and Denise Mina. It was on sky arts. I really enjoyed it. I did English Lit at Uni and Frank did a better job of explaining Wordsworth than my tutors did!
eta you can get sky arts on free view, we don't have Sky at home.

I can't bear it but I know people who are big fans I know of an elderly couple living in West Wales who travelled by train to Birmingham to see the live show. It must be a Marmite thing.
My elderly parents love it too as do their friends. I can’t bear it either and I don’t know anyone my age that does. My theory is that Mrs Brown Boys with its carry on humour, man in drag (think Dick Emery, Danny LaRue) is humour the older generation are familiar with from the 70’s. I can’t otherwise fathom it.

sounds exactly like the Priscilla Presley story.

re Andrew Scott, if you like him, I recommend his latest film All of us Strangers - he's really good in it and it's an excellent film. I never liked Fleabag and he's excruciating in Sherlock so it was a nice surprise. ( haven't watched the new Ripley yet tho)

Frank Skinner used to be all right on sky arts artist of the year shows but I much prefer Stephen Mangan who does it now.

re Piper & Fox, I always wondered about that - about whether she married him thinking he was normal/ decent and he'd just been hiding it, or if he really was okay and then he became radicalised later on. Who knows. I don't want to blame her or suggest she should have known better - lord knows I regret staying in one relationship in particular with a total nightmare of a man despite everyone telling me I was being a fool. So I ain't gonna judge her for that. But people are always cheerleading her and going " you go girl" for divorcing him eight years ago which I find weird. She's moved on. I guess they mostly want to mock him for being divorced rather than to praise her but still.

Jesus I just found out he's 45. I would have said 55.
