Gwyneth and Chris had a swingers relationship. They were allowed to sleep with other people in the company or vicinity of one another, but they were never allowed to pursue personal emotional and sexual relationships with other people. It was to be purely a sex thing. Until Gwynnie stepped out and began going to these parties on her own whilst Chris was on tour. Chris found out after a nasty case of herpes and they decided to split up as they clearly were not compatible with each other anymore.
They are to actually be very good friends and never were vicious to each other in the divorce and afaik both of them and their OH still share certain holidays so their kids don't feel like they're being split up or left out.
Also Gwyneth is supposed to rock a 70's bush and Cameron Diaz once ambushed her whilst she was in the bath and trimmed her!

She's so up herself, it's like she's in this fantasy world, constantly in a state of self indulgent, narcissistic with no concept of normality to the point where she thinks her fanny smells of bergamot and that her fans want a 30k solid gold dildo.
