If you were being charitable you could believe that the mother might not have actually seen what exactly happened e.g. if she had her back turned. She's not a prosecution witness, but doesn't say if she is a defence witness or not. You'd hope not tbh.This is a laughable defence if it wasn't so sad. Why doesn't the mother say what actually happened? What would she have to gain by lying? Unless she wants to protect her partner who murdered their child

I don't see how the knife could go so far in if they were just mucking about.Tbh I just don't understand why you'd throw any kitchen utensils at each other.....I mean, I could understand a tea towel or something like that, cos I've done that myself...but I'd never throw tongs or spatulas or knives at anyonethe story makes literally no sense, and I would not stand by and support my daughters dad if he had done that even if it was "an accident" as he thought he was throwing another utensil at her.
I don't even believe that's what happened though tbh, I think he's stabbed her deliberately or went to stab the mother and the girl has got in the way but they think he will get off with it if they make it seem like a play fight got wrong.

Whilst drunk too, he's got an impeccable aim then.He'd have to be the strongest person in history to throw a knife from close range (and apparently over his shoulder) that penetrated clothing and then 11 cm deep into a person. What a ridiculous defence.
