TW: themes of domestic violence & violence towards and eventual murder of a child.

We’re all following the live updates for the trial for the murder of infant Star Hobson provided by the Telegraph & Argus, they set it as the main banner image daily for anyone who would like to follow.

The jury will return to court on Monday 13th December at 10.30am to continue their deliberations. Hopefully a verdict will be reached sometime in the next week.

Sorry I have another question 🙈 I am really not familiar with court procedure, I started following this case and Arthur’s, I just knew during lockdown some poor babies were going to suffer from it all 😓 and now I can’t stop watching these both unfold.

Will the pictures and videos that are being discussed during the trial be released after the case is over?

I know there was a lot of confusion around Arthur’s trial as footage was released during the trial etc, but there seems to be so much documented evidence in this one, and I was wondering if it will all become public or can the police pick and choose what they want to share?

I think some of the evidence may be released to the public, but not all.

It got the same on Facebook when baby Azaylia Cain passed away. The parents seemed to take comfort from it. I suppose you can't imagine how you would react with such a loss.

It's all well and good having well wishes and offering condolences. I'm sure it offers comfort to know she touched so many people, but these people who are so invested now, act like they are family but are they going to think about her in 6 months time or will there be something else in the news they cling onto? Unfortunately for Star's family this isn't just a fleeting current news story. This will be something that wakes them up at 3am,that feels like a stab in the heart as soon they wake up in the morning. This will be something they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.

Seeing people post the likes of this gives me a headache; you just know that they’ll be dining out on this picture for weeks. I bet the comments are full of “awww, this is bewtful..”

I would be absolutely livid if people were posting rubbish like this about any of my loved ones.

I totally agree. It's completely tasteless. For Stars family, this is reality. I would imagine these groups were initially set up to honour Star and the family obviously found it comforting to get messages of support and prayers etc. It's just turned into a group where strangers attempt to outdo each other in the most crass manner.

She might not know what it is, but I do: a cloud, it’s a cloud! I guess anything that makes the family feel comforted is sort of good, but I just can’t understand this. I don’t think I’ve seen a normal post that just said something appropriate, like “thinking of Star’s family, I’m so sorry for your loss and hope justice is done.” Instead it’s bizarre edits, tattoos, children singing and flogging crappy trinkets before a stop was put to that.

I think they only release information which is deemed to be ‘in the public interest’. But I am not sure who makes that decision or how….

I just can't get over that cloud pic?! It's beyond disturbing how heavily some people have inserted themselves into this tragedy for what I can only assume is likes/validation. Seriously screwed up

This sort of thing was happening before social media tbh. I remember before the days of Facebook a 2 year old little girl very sadly passed away from sudden childhood death syndrome. This was talked about on a parenting forum. People were making montages which they set to music.

Also Princess Diana’s death which prompted that awful Elton John song which had originally been written for Marilyn Monroe. I actually remember someone I knew at the time, purchasing that song and playing it at her daughter’s Christening!

People are often just so inappropriate 🤷🏻‍♀️

That is seriously messed up same with the tattoos, Christmas decorations etc. Anything for likes and attention like how do you explain to people you got a tattoo for a child you have never met or knew, in the next 6 months or less people will move onto the next tragedy or big event and the cycle continues.

I seen someone say that they felt so connected to Star because their baby was born on her birthday this year, literally acting like she’d come back reincarnated saying they had so many similarities. Like honestly some of it just blows my mind think these people need to search for professional help
