Fully agreed. Shaming people because of a tattle thread that alot of the same posters have been involved in themselves is quite extreme. There is speculation ALL over the internet, but we are the ones who are going to single handedly take an entire crown court case down? If people are so seriously concerned then report it and stop engaging in it, don't just stay making people feel like Sarah's murderer will run free because they were a little curious about facts that have been publicly released on a wide scale (like no doubt most of the rest of the population on social media).

The irony of this is that it’s seen as perfectly fine to drag up the previous partners of victims of sexual assault and whether victims were considered ‘promiscuous’ or not in court.
I talked about this with my mum and was disheartened when she said ”why would anyone walk alone at night? Why not keep yourself safe” I very calmly explained that women shouldn’t have to be chaperoned everywhere to be safe, and that it’s not always possible to get transport somewhere. That even a woman walking 10 minutes from the bus stop to her home is at risk of this happening. Oh and also the fact that the large majority of women have done what Sarah did or very similar at some point in their lives, but we were just lucky nothing so terrible happened to us. But hours later I’m fuming. It’s tit that my own mum has this mentality. I’ll be doing better by my daughters.

Usually things like this have a lot of media, then go quiet until the case is actually seen I think. So it’ll all die down until probably next year. Hopefully they keep an eye on him and he makes it to the trial

Why are the people insisting this thread is removed ones who have made numerous comments themselves.
People are just chatting, sharing their own experiences the same way they wouldn’t amongst friends. If we were the mans wife or involved in the case it would be a different matter. We are commenting on a news article. If that wasn’t allowed then the news wouldn’t be allowed to report on it.
I'm wondering how it's breaking the law when there's thousands of posts online and on world news sites (including from the German and English police ) accusing the German Christian Bruckner of murdering Maddie McCann with no evidence what so ever .
I've yet to see a single person comment on this case who hasn't made some reference to presumed guilt. The thing is none of us had even heard of this individual until the media heavily reported on his arrest for kidnap and murder, so it's not like people have gone out of their way to accuse a fully unassociated innocent, ofcourse people are going to believe that means (especially in this instance where the police wouldn't affect their reputation accusing one of their own unjustly) that is all but set in stone. It would take them eternity to charge every single person commenting on socials for contempt.

Yup, I mentioned it before but cross-examination rules in grape cases were changed by a bunch of white men. Rules which were meant to protect women obviously. They may have since been modified and what not, but even if we look at our Parliament now most of the people making legislation and voting on it are men.
I don't think something like that would slip through unnoticed, and people would be angry, but it's still mostly white and well-educated men making those rules and in a way they have every right to make those rules as long as they're not doing something outside of their powers
I only thought it was if there's an anonymity order in place ,like those two cretins that murdered James Bulger they can swoop you for that if you blow their cover on SM etc, or the likes of sharing private info about the suspect or their families.

From what I've read on the GOV website the only thing that stood out as potentially being relevant on this thread is people commenting on his guilt when not technically proven, but like I say, the comments of people doing so across all platforms are in their millions. How would the court possibly tackle that as a significant form of contempt when the police themselves have arrested him for murder since the get go? We've been told across hundreds of platforms from day one that he was responsible.
An excuse for murder is not having mental issues! There can never be an excuse for a crime like that!
My ex cracked my head open, kicked me and strangled me - he blamed it on his mental health! But he was and still is a domestic abuser! Because of this I had mental health issues but never have I wanted to harm anyone! Some people are just pure evil and there is no excuse for it!

An arrest on suspicion of a crime isn’t the same as being found guilty
