Pretty sure it was said by someone up thread that the accused would claim a jinn was part of this. Well predicted on that one. She was just tiny when this started. How could you stay with your own babies even if afraid of your husband when you see what he can do to his own daughter who was so small

I don't think I'll ever get over the image of her poor, broken, little body being jetwashed. How could they do that?

I also wonder how the neighbours haven't seen any of this?

Yeah like @Prince fan 1999 says, it's more likely to make them find him guilty, doesn't exactly present him as a man of honesty and integrity does it

He's given 3 versions of Sara's last day by this point, he's also been tripped up twice on the amount of time he spent at home vs at work, AAANNNDD he left his mobile in Pakistan to make it harder for the police to gather evidence of him discussing the abuse with BB
Agree.

Liars trip themselves up, thankfully.

They removed the ring doorbell too before they left the house, it’s all manipulation and deception.

Every single time something like this happens you find out about all the concerns which individually might be something relatively minor but put together are clearly a major concern. It always comes down to a lack of joined up communication. It feels like we never learn from the serious case reviews.

The more I read the more I feel everyone who inflicted, saw, heard, had suspicion of, had an opportunity to speak up, step in & save poor Sara yet no one did....... & I mean everyone!

I am also curious why I (and lots of us on this thread!) kind of redirected our attention to BB, I am not saying she is completely innocent, we don't have any facts or account yet so I reserve judgement about her culpability...now. I think I said earlier on in this thread, I was worried if it was my internalised misogyny and social conditioning around the wicked stepmother trope which was making me think she was the more sadistic of the adults.
We have had good reason to believe Batool was also abusive:

1) She refused to give dental impressions regarding the bite marks found on Sara's thighs.
2) She was heard by neighbours to scream abuse and swear at the children.
3) She was aggressive with the school when they raised the issue of bruises on Sara.
4) She texted her sister over several years documenting the abuse from Urfan, but did nothing to report it to the authorities.

It makes me feel sick to say it but I can’t help but think what was on her body they were so desperate to remove evidence of. Using a jet wash seems like some extreme measure to try and get rid of DNA.
Someone said yesterday that they think he changed his story and admitted he beat her after spending days denying all knowledge because the questioning was getting tough and he was scared of what else would come out. But what is worse than killing a child? This along with the bite makes on her inner thigh just makes me feel like there is another even more sinister layer to the abuse they were doing to poor Sara. And I don’t believe they want to keep the children in Pakistan because they think that’s what’s best for them but more they are scared of what will come out if they were interviewed. I can’t even bring to imagine the horror that went on in that house. This case is so harrowing.
Do you mean CSA? There’s definitely a few facts that have emerged that make it possible.

I’m struck by the fact that Sara is thought to have died within 5 minutes of Sharif getting home that day. The way he told it at first, she was actually in the process of dying when he arrived home but actually I wonder whether he was called home to carry out a punishment and immediately on arriving inflicted violence so dreadful that it induced the fatal seizure. This is basically what police think happened with Star Hobson and Brockhill even tho Brockhill tried to cover it up.

Jetwashing: dumb attempt to get rid of DNA. I bet BB watched loads of true crime and thought she was being clever. She probably didn’t want mess all over her lovely bathroom either (bowels and bladder often release in death)

I fucking hate them and want them to suffer.

Given the outcome would've been the same, I wish that they just outright murdered her swiftly rather that torture her and prolong her suffering. I've actually cried on occasions reading her plight, it's just so fucking painful to imagine.
The judge will hopefully bear this in mind on sentencing.
I've seen a few photos of her, she is beautiful & I wish to god someone, anyone had stepped in, spoke up, just saved her.

I’m gutted I was so thoughtless to do that, it’s a lovely group who really care about Sara and they often have information that I’ve not seen anywhere else. When I saw the post I shared it just made me more hopeful they could get a conviction for the uncle so wanted to put it on here.
I wouldn't feel bad, I've found the group linked on twitter.
I think they should realise that because a group on Facebook says private it's not really a private conversation. Anything you post on the internet where lots can read it shouldn't be thought of as a private space.

So Sara was in foster care before she was 2 years old? That means that the family have has SS involvement one way or another practically Sara’s whole life.

The only way children (four of whom are younger than Sara, one being a baby!) would hurt another child in such a horrific way is if they are conditioned to do it, or forced in fear of them being hurt instead.

I don’t believe it was a child but, if so, their so-called parents are still to blame.

For all Sharif's sobbing and blaming Bainesh, let's not forget that there was a cricket bat and a leather belt which both had full DNA samples from Sara herself, Sharif and Faisal on both ends. Neither object had Bainesh's DNA on them. So Sharif and Faisal saying that they were at work all the time so it must have been Bainesh who was consistently causing the serious injuries is a lie.

I think Bainesh was the one who was consistently attacking Sara during the day - and she probably used the iron, but Sharif and Faisal are obviously responsible for the injuries caused by the bat and belt.

It is absolutely horrific that all three adults were treating her like a whipping post. It's beyond imagination to be honest. That poor girl; it's just unfathomable.

No, culture is not the issue. It may be normalised in this culture to not hold girls up in the same way as boys but torture is definitely not normalised or accepted
Nope - I didn't say torturing girls was normalised or accepted. I made the point that Sara was female and mixed race and that culture may be a factor.

This may be an unpalatable truth but please don't twist what I said 👍

Whilst the neighbours obviously can't be blamed for what happened to this child I'm astounded that they didn't report it. I don't want to judge them because not everyone is like me but when my, fully grown woman, neighbour was being beaten up by her male partner, I rang the police. I rang the police even though I knew him to be a violent criminal who had had armed police out to arrest him. I rang the police because I couldn't live with myself if he really hurt her, how can you not do that if the victim is a child?

Batool was a victim of honour-based abuse according to her barrister. She had to run away from home as a teen and was placed in a DV refuge.

Batool's barrister says that US essentially groomed her because she was young and extremely vulnerable when he met her.

US committed the violent offences on the Polish women when he was in UK on a student visa (not sure if that is still his visa or whether her has permanent residency, presume the latter). Before gaining custody of Sara he could only visit her supervised at a contact centre. Sara would shout at him to 'go away'.

When all this is over I really hope that a serious (and non-racist!) public conversation is had about insular immigrant communities which keep their women hidden and separated from UK civic life and abuse them.
It is a cultural problem. A bit off topic but relevant, we had a doctor at work who opened my eyes to this. New doctors usually accept advice from the nurses on policy and procedure etc as they are just passing through whereas we build our careers on that ward/speciality. He would not listen to any female member of staff and expected us to fetch and carry for him. One day he was ranting on the ward because a colleague had called at his house (to drop off gifts from his household) when he was out and his wife had to answer the door to a man. This was an educated man who had lived in the UK for years and was quite far along in his surgical training. This and other incidents meant he wasn’t kept on the team and I dread to think of wherever he ended up working.
The uncle, I think, should face harsh punishment. I get the impression he was only bothered about himself and having somewhere to stay so he could do his course and his job without forking out for accommodation as well. I don’t know why he meekly followed US back to the UK when he could have just gone off the radar in Pakistan, maybe pressure from the family? Or thinking he could clear his name if he didn’t hit Sara so he could then carry on as if nothing had happened? Selfish little weasel.

I have been following the Sara case closely and like so many ,the level of sadism bestowed upon that beautiful innocent child has shook me to the core, more so as it was perpetuated by those who were meant to love her the most. Its fundamentally so wrong, cruel and inhumame, it goes against everything that is ingrained in normal people without having the need to be taught.@Moldwarp ive thoroughly appreciated your views and unbiased well thought opinions on this case, you write extremely well and its nice to hear snippets from someone who has hailed from a similar ethnic background who has come throught the other side and has obviously grown from it best wishes to youx

This is like nothing I’ve ever ever heard before, that poor girl.

It’s beginning to sound like everyone turned a blind eye, the neighbours thought about reporting it but decided against it. I wonder what her old school are now thinking.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.
"Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility."

Too many think..."Don't get involved", "It's none of our business", "We don't want any trouble".

I worked in child education for many years, we were all trained in child protection and I have personally reported a neighbour for mistreatment of their child, no hesitation. Did the teacher/school staff not raise any concerns? If they didn't then shame on them, it's scandalous. Someone as well as others have made monumental failings along the line.

So many thoughts after today's court

I'll start straight off with that I think he's telling the truth, I'll get into why further on.

Surely us will be able to back up his claims that he was at work the whole day, his phone records must reveal that she called him when he said she did, plus maybe his workplace can verify it?
There are so many different reports in different publications with added details, she gave him 3 versions of events, one that she fell down the stairs, one that she was punched and kicked by another child only after he had questioned her on marks he had seen on her body after trying to and eventually being stopped from giving the customary shower a muslim receives after dying, he said he seen the marks, and thought no way could a child have inflicted them, so he went to Pakistan with her after knowing that fact.
Her family are literally the scum of the earth, they knew she was dead and not one decided to do the decent thing a report it. They should be in the dock with them.
Us says faisal also checked for a pulse, I wonder at what point he made an appearance.
Did us not think to ASK the kid who was accused if they had done it?!?
I think BB had both of those men firmly under her control, you cannot underestimate if u aren't from or know the culture, the sheer power that comes from being born and brought up in the UK. That would have been a power imbalance in their relationship from the very start, she was the one who googled to show him the difference between manslaughter and murder, she was the one who told him the sibling would go to jail.
I am in no way trying to paint US as some kind of Saint who knew nothing, he must have known something was going on, I do beleive him however when he says he didn't know the half of it. I think BB had an intense jealousy and dislike for Sara. I think that she completely got so carried away with her abuse she forgot this was an actual person who could die, she probably was shocked into reality when it actually happened. I hope she never has a days peace in her life again. She wanted to blame the uncle as he has "no responsibilies" I think she was clever enough to clean her prints off the belt and the bat and ask them to put them in the shed knowing it would incriminate them. She is one cunning bitch.

My thoughts on today

I think us probably had no idea the extent of the injuries on Sara until he got back to the UK and heard the evidence hence why he is now calling her an evil psyco. I think she fed him the lie that Sara's brother had done it right up to the end. For some reason my gut is telling me he's being truthful.
As for her being injured, made to wear a hijab and in nappies: I feel like the dad may not have questioned it when bb told him she needed to be in nappies for her time of the month, women's issues are still very much a taboo subject especially among those who were not born here, so for him to not even question this is entirely plausible in my opinion. I feel like it's also plausible that he may not have seen injuries on her body as men generally back off from parenting duties that include seeing the children naked such as bathing and dressing when girls start growing up, so I feel that BB used that as way to conceal things as girls start observing hijab at puberty. All that said I do not beleive for a minute that he didn't know abuse was happening in some capacity, it must have been obvious to anyone who seen her trying to walk etc.
I firmly beleive that bb is a sick individual who was sick with jealousy because her own two daughters were special needs and added to that visibly special needs, she couldn't bear it that his daughter with another woman was prettier, and it sounds so shallow, but so much emphasis is placed on beauty and light skin colour in uneducated and even educated sections of the community.
