I am reporting my comment above to mods to ask them to remove it, as someone on the Facebook group was very upset about it, and I have seen other people saying they don’t want to comment on there in case it gets shared. If the people who were upset see this I am sorry for sharing from a private group and will not do this again, I honestly just thought the poster had made some very good points that hadn’t occurred to me and wanted to discuss what was said on here, I didn’t mean any disrespect or to make anyone on here or fb feel uncomfortable. We all want the same thing, to understand what has happened and to see the horrible perpetrators of this crime punished to the maximum allowed.

What's the name of the group?

I’m sorry they were upset. It was a really good point we hadn't even considered!
I’m gutted I was so thoughtless to do that, it’s a lovely group who really care about Sara and they often have information that I’ve not seen anywhere else. When I saw the post I shared it just made me more hopeful they could get a conviction for the uncle so wanted to put it on here.

You did it without malice. You didn't share any names and you were only sharing valid points, you weren't being snarky about their opinions or anything like that. The person whose comment you shared understands, I think, from their comments. Tbh, I wouldn't have thought anyone would get offended by that so I've learnt something from it

I wouldn't feel bad, I've found the group linked on twitter.
I think they should realise that because a group on Facebook says private it's not really a private conversation. Anything you post on the internet where lots can read it shouldn't be thought of as a private space.

Don’t worry about it, it’s done and forgotten about. We all want the same verdict

Is it forgotten about? The admin asked people to leave.

I wasn’t convinced FM was as involved in the abuse as it now seems he could have been. I don’t see why a student at Uni who worked at McDonalds would even become involved. It makes me despair honestly. Do you think US was ruling the household with terror? Shame he didn’t take the stand to shed more light on US really.

Adding to the fact Sara was female, mixed race, and her mother's side being Christian, she was also incredibly beautiful.

I wonder if that caused some jealousy and hostility in Batool.
yeah I thought batool was maybe jealous of Sara & that she was another woman’s daughter. This case is horrendous.

In an undated and misspelled letter to Sharif and Batool shown to jurors on Wednesday, Sara wrote that she was “sorry for being rude” and “answering back”.

She concluded her note with the words: “Please forgive me I am so, so sorry.”

This is awful, that poor girl having to apologise. Can't find any updates from today apart from the judge saying the jury can consider manslaughter.

I assume judge is doing his utmost to make sure these things don’t get a small sentence at least with manslaughter you can get 30 years with causing or allowing its 18 years maximum

I understand the judge offering the possibility of Manslaughter, but surely the requirement for Murder is proven by the GBH requirement, for at the very least US

I don’t know where manslaughter fits into the picture that’s been painted. I’m glad it’s been included though because if the jury can’t be sure, or disagree, on the level of intent then they can still convict them of something. The aggravating factors will help to get maximum sentences hopefully. I like this judge, covering all bases.

I suspect they’ve allowed manslaughter as there isn’t a clear answer to exactly who did what and the jury may be more comfortable going for the lesser charge in that case.

Yes I’m thinking FM might get manslaughter, I had worried he’d get a not guilty even, so this helps.

"Sara had been hooded, burned and beaten during more than two years of abuse."

Death by a thousand cuts would be too gentle for those torturers.
