If nothing else I hope he has a lifetime of fear and looking over his shoulder, and never, ever for one moment feeling safe.

There was a report in the Times I think yesterday, which said that whilst Olga and the children were in the refuge after she left US, Olga was witnessed hitting Sara so hard that 'she flew across the room'. Sara and the other children were also taken into care briefly whilst Olga was still with US when one of the children, (I believe it was Olga's son from a previous relationship and was ultimately taken permanently into care) said that he had been assaulted by US and bitten very hard by Olga. She received a caution for biting that child.Do we know for sure Olga abused Sara?
Because it seems to me that US was very persuasive when dealing with authorities. Always allowed to walk a away because his accusers were ‘lying’. Could this have been another lie and she couldn’t defend herself due to trauma of being abused by him and also her learning difficulties?
They used religion to try and avoid scrutiny, by covering Sara up in a hijab in an attempt to hide her bruises. They didn't seem particularly religious, but they knew they could use it to benefit them, and people wouldn't question them.I am also sad to see the amount of racist rhetoric online surrounding this. None of this torture she went through was realistically ever entrenched in religion. They are evil people who did evil things it's really that simple.
Yes I'm so relieved all three have been found guilty including Uncle who thinks he could claim to be at work or uni all the time and not seen anything. Bollocks. Especially as they were in a one bed flat until they got into the 3 bed house.Just came here to say I’m so relieved at the verdicts, guilty of murder because that’s what they did. I think it is the best we could have hoped for with the uncle as well, so glad they reached a verdict and convicted him of something. Justice for SaraWell done to the poor jury! Bring on sentencing.
I hope they never get out of the fucking prison!I hope neither US and BB are ever allowed custody of (or even unsupervised access to) any children in the future.
I know someone who was offered 6 Hammond Road by the local authority, she declined on the basis she could not knowingly live in the house with her children after Sara was tortured and murdered in it.Imagine being housed in their house now. Everyone knows what happened there.
Respectfully, I disagree with that. On a philosophical level, taking it away from this specific case for the moment.I think it's because it's just a given that the perpetrators are evil. You can't look for their humanity because there isn't any there, they were always going to kill their children unless someone stepped in to stop them.
I don't think so, I have read all of them and was interested to see that Qandeela was very against the idea of Sara being taken out of school and trying hard to persuade BB not to take that step.I haven’t read all of the text messages and it’s an awful thought but I wonder if Qandeela was somewhat enjoying the fact that BB was living a miserable life and was almost taunting her with her bizarre responses. She obviously didn’t care a bit about what poor Sara was suffering.
As to social just signing those kids over, do we know if a supervision order was put in place? These can be made by a family court judge for whatever term they see fit and ensure regular checks (maybe once a month) with a social worker to see how things are going. This can then lead to upgrading to a child in need, child protection or further legal action to have them removed again. It seems like they just assumed BB solved all the concerns just by being there and washed their hands of the two kids. Given US previous form they should have taken into account that BB was likely to be a victim of domestic violence and unable to safeguard the kids, especially once the siblings came along and the house became very busy. Of course they didn’t know she was a nasty piece of work but if they had bothered to check up on the kids they would have found this out.
this from the Times today - https://www.thetimes.com/uk/crime/article/sara-sharif-parents-father-stepmother-l53gmgxzl non paywall link https://archive.ph/HjkcRThis bit from the Times article is heartbreaking:
While Batool was found guilty, she has maintained her innocence. A series of WhatsApp messages with her sister Qandeela Saboohi revealed during the trial that she would use make-up and sunglasses to hide how Sara was “beaten black” to the point of “vomiting”. In one instance, when a neighbour complimented Sara on her glasses over their shared fence the ten-year-old replied “my mummy likes to buy me lots of glasses”.
It also says that BB thought Sara was possessed by a Jinn. Someone very sharp and astute theorised this in the last thread - @HotesTilaire was it you?
