The couple who killed their child (on a previous post if mine) ...he was attacked in prison with socks filled with cans of tuna and lost 12 teeth.
That would be too good for US.

OMG you attended! Please spill some more info (as far as it is allowed) did you see US and BB? How did they come across you?
I am not sure how much I am allowed to share but as the jury are now out I think it is ok (an I am not sharing anything that wasn't in open court (and therefore open to any members of the public). BB was not in court when I was there and some others in the public gallery said she had asked for a video link the day before too. US and the brother were both there - heads down the entire time and barely moved - apparently US has lost a lot of weight and he looked like shit and like a different person from the arrest video. There was an interpeter and security guard with them at all times. It is almost as they wanted to look cowed and unassuming .
I had never been in a court before and was in London so we decided to take a morning at the Old Bailey - it was really interesting and would really recommend it for those interested in crime and law.

Sara was beautiful and adored her baby brother.

TA at school said she was bubbly, chatty, engaging. Always happy at school and had a spark. Wanted to voice her opinions and wasn’t afraid to answer back.

Sara was courageous, loved to sing and dance.

Abuse had become normalised for Sara as she had known nothing else. Sara believed that she deserved that punishment.

Olga cannot understand how anyone could behave like that toward a child.

Funeral was in Poland ❤

This case darkly illustrates the dangers of homeschooling of vulnerable children. Abuse was hidden by ‘homeschooling’.

Yeah I know. I've wondered about this too. Like with Arthur Labinjo-Hughes, I read more hatred against the hairdresser than against Tustin.

I think it might be something to do with how we as humans regard the nature of evil. Like the killers themselves are so beyond the pale that they almost can't be judged by the same standards as 'normal' people because the very fact of their evilness has somehow put them outside of the human race (or sub the human race as in subhuman). Whereas the hairdresser and Qandeela, they are closer to ordinary humans like you and me and so we judge them by our own standards.

Honestly just spitballing but I think it might be something like that? This is why I love Tattle, where else can you get a respectful debate on ethical philosophy on a Thursday afternoon lol
For me, it's the fact that the perps went to trial, have been found guilty, and will be punished according to the law.

The sister in this case, to a lesser extent the hairdresser in little Arthur's... nothing. Nothing at all. I can't get my head around the fact that there were people who were acutely aware what was happening, not just suspected but KNEW and did nothing, and there is no comeback on them. That seems to me to be dreadfully wrong.

I think that one reason why people are being so harsh on the social workers in this case is the fact that social services were involved with the family from before Sara was born. There was also a child who was permanently removed at one stage. I think it's also fair to ask very serious questions of the judge who agreed to US having full custody of Sara and her other brother following whatever apparently happened to them when Olga had custody, particularly as that judge is said to have been involved on all the other family law cases involving the family. We've read that social workers claimed to be intimidated by US in previous dealings with him, and yet the judge had no qualms in giving him custody when the only new factor was the presence of BB.

When the school referred Sara to social services after seeing bruises on her face, one has to wonder why there doesn't seem to have been a joined-up approach by them looking into the entire troubled history of the young girl's life. If there had been, surely the case wouldn't have been closed after a few days.

What the fuck?

I honestly can't get over the gall of that statement.
It’s unbelievable!

I hope they can take into account the fact that they fled. It’s clear that they wouldn’t have returned to the UK had it not been for the actions and relentlessness of the Pakistani authorities.

I was reading that some of the other children were co-erred into the abuse too, think it was a DM article, if so, that’s also awful, and that those children are still currently with the family who raised this monster.

also, Batool, seems to have been “married” twice before and US went to divorce lawyers when he found out she was lying about having twins with one of those men. She also has a long background of lying and manipulation. What an absolute shitshow all round!

I think I was grappling with potential internalised misogyny in the last thread. There are elements of BB that people are questioning because in evidence she was asking US to return home to discipline Sara (knowing that US brand of discipline was abhorrent), she refused the dental impressions and the neighbours evidence about screaming followed by silence and rattling sounds during the day makes me think she had a bigger hand in in than just being a bystander who was too afraid to intervene. I was in a domestically abusive marriage to the point of having to have had alarms in my house when I left as it came out as high at MARAC, I was so controlled that I had to lie about going to work (the petrol money to get to work was apparently too high, I could only have one washing up bowl of water and one set of water to wash the children a day, a longer and longer list of banned foods was slowly introduced to the house, the kids had to lie if they had a McDonalds - you get the picture), not one physical finger was laid on my children, I took it instead but they are damaged living inside it - I stayed for just under 8 years and was left with nothing but 3 traumatised children but I got out to protect them and it's still impacting them over s decade later. BB had a blueprint of US fathering with the eldest boy and Sara - she could not have looked at him and thought for a minute he was going to be a decent father to her kids but they went on to have 3 more babies who had to live in this hell. That is what I think she is culpable for, and I get how much of a slow boiled frog you are as an abused woman but honestly, she helped nobody including those children.

I'm not sure people are perceiving her to be more cruel or more scheming. I mean how much of a monster must you be to hit a dying child with a metal pole who dies less then 2 minutes later. I think I am perceiving her to be less honest and more clever than US who is a cognitive shitshow, I think there is plenty she is responsible for but she is keeping quiet and not taking any responsibility for any of it. That is why I condemn her.

She bit her, and probably did worse but we’ll never know the full truth of what went on and who did what. I’m sorry but I have zero sympathy for her. Her children are better off without her, spineless bastards the lot of them.

I think some of it is because social work was set up to protect children and again they have failed to do so. Sara was known to them from birth, they alongside the court put her in the care of that monster who battered her so much her body couldn't take it anymore. Of course I'm angry at those things for murdering her and not one of them giving a shit about her but if one person just looked into them and spoke to Sara then she could've been removed. There were serious serious failings in this case just like all the ones before and it's upsetting that in this day and age children are being abused by the people who are meant to protect them and nothing is being done about it. Home schooling needs to be looked into more and agreed before it happens. It's just frustrating that she wasn't better protected and she probably felt so alone and scared. I can't imagine what she went through in her short life.

bloody hell he looked like a different person in the dock. Hopefully that means he has been suffering in prison and will continue to suffer through a life sentence.

The uncle guilty of causing or allowing the death of a child
His eyes look haunted. As they should I hope he never gets a moment's mental peace ever, ever agin.

BB's eyes have no feeling or emotion at all in them.

Another thing which should go against BB is that one of the barristers, perhaps US's, said that BB and I think FM, would message US to tell him that Sara was misbehaving, almost goading him to come home and punish her. That's not the action of someone who is trying to protect a girl from her violent father.

I'm not sure whether I believe the abuse escalated because of the uncle moving in, simply because this kind of abuse always escalates. It'll be interesting to see what comes out about the family when reporting restrictions are lifted after the verdict
I don’t think the timing from what we’ve heard so far adds up with the escalation being due to the brother unless more comes out after the trial.

It sounds like they were beating her savagely regularly before that and the true escalation seems to have happened once the bruises were noticed - I’d bet that’s why the hijab started in the first place, someone said something about a bruise and then obviously the school noticing despite the hijab and reporting to SS followed by Sara being pulled out of school and being at their mercy 24/7, and with nobody external to notice any more as SS fucked up they were free to do whatever they wanted. Utter evil, the pair of them.
