BB - 13 aggravating factors. Sentence based on involvement of encouraging and assisting US. In early days she tried to talk US out of harming Sara. But called US home and favoured own children. ‘Willing to sacrifice Sara’.
Took an active part toward end of life including bites, hooding, burning.
Became used to a complicit in abuse. Way she acted after Sara died showed BB was unsurprised.
Assisted torture for several years.

I hope not, death is the easy way out. Deserves to rot forever.
There is some mitigation for BB.

It seems that a child from the family has given some evidence from what the judge was saying
FM - offending was failure to take reasonable steps, rather than causing her death. Cannot be sure that he was actively involved and judge believes he didn’t participate. Already established abuse when FM first moved in. But worst of torture was after FM lived with them. He did nothing.
Cat 1a very high culpability - failure to protect Sara from multiple episodes or torture. 14 years starting point, range 12-18 years.

The couple who killed their child (on a previous post if mine) ...he was attacked in prison with socks filled with cans of tuna and lost 12 teeth.

They should be spending their lives locked up but the fact they’re not getting out until they’re old and lost out on their own lives is enough

🩹Glad to see them locked up. No punishment is ever enough, but at least for US he'll be virtually dead when he's out. BB got off lightly IMO...
That judge was amazing, could tell he was struggling at points. 40 and 33 years are so good. He will be in his 80s, doubt he will get out. Hope your sentences are filled with hatred and torture.

I’m disappointed in BB’s sentence. She’ll be out of prison in her 60’s and may meet her grandchildren.

That was an incredibly hard watch but glad they’ve long sentences, even if the uncle can be out in 12

With any luck they’ll never actually get out. It’s probably the best we can hope for.They should be spending their lives locked up but the fact their not getting out until their old and lost out on their own lives is enough

No sentence will ever really be long enough, if there was any real justice they would also be made to suffer physically for as long as possible imo. I wish they could feel the level of fear and pain that she did.
