I preferred Sam the way they were before. Now they are so trashy and in your face. They’re trying hard to be flamboyant but can’t pull it off.

So he’s camp in a way that’s all good fun on a night out, in a bar or nightclub, loving life and wearing your sexuality on your sleeve whilst having a great time, but his social media presence feels like he is just using it to try to pull? Like it’s tinder

the poses and attention seeking behaviour is always out of context - ie no music, not on a night out it’s just a Wednesday lunchtime outside Greggs or broad daylight waiting for the Amazon delivery, messing like you are in year 10 filming your mates. It’s just childish which is why it hits wrong

George Michael he ain't!
It’s an insult to utter his name with George Michael’s.
Edit to add:
Drives me bonkers when he tries to force the comparison. Homie, you’re not the George Michael of your generation. He didn’t rely on these horrific tactics to gain respect in the industry.

Appropos of possibly nothing, but I spent a few hours with mainly teens on Friday, and listened to them all talking about what a dickhead Sam Smith is.
I though the younger people were lapping it up, but it seems not.
Excellent stuff.

I dont think ita a size thing. You can tell its a try hard thing here. Just to get noticed and media coverage. And it's worked. The latest single is not very good and yet it is getting loads of plays on the Internet due to the controversial video. If that song had been released when Sam was wearing suits it would not have received much attention at all. Smith appears in these Brits photos like it's something they had to do by contract. Doesn't look comfortable or at ease- actually looks in a mood.

Not a fan of Lewis Capaldi’s music but he seems a good laugh as a person and takes the piss out of himself
My cousin stays down the road from Lewis and he is often seen around town and will stand and talk to you if he has the time. He went into the local chippie a few months back saying he had to be quick and was still in there nearly an hour later gabbing with people. I can't say I know Sam too well but I have to admit I couldn't see him doing that.

No-one in here can stand the vomit-inducing turd and are highly unlikely to defend him in any case 🤣 More young people should spend time on Tattle to learn common sense!
He and his defenders/fans can say whatever they want but no one will ever be able to convince me that he is comfortable doing what he is. You only have to look at him whenever he is 'performing'...it's like the lights are on but nobody's home. I give it another few months of him keeping on trying to shock more and more and then boom, we'll get an announcement about rehab.

I am Scottish and the use of the word c*nt is interchangeable- it can be used as an insult or a compliment!
To be fair, I’m not bothered by it particularly. It was just an example of the fact that trying to force people into using words because of archaic usage isn’t the ‘gotcha’ that some think it is. Especially when you’ve seen that exact same argument dozens of times in the last few days. It must be doing the rounds or something.

It’s the people correcting others about the pronouns that bring the ‘incorrect’ usage of pronouns into the conversation in the first place. People mostly WERE just talking about his ridiculous outfits until someone felt the need to preach about it.

My sons think all the pronoun hysteria is even more ridiculous than I do. One of them wears eyeliner and nail varnish and dyes his hair bright colours, both of them have long hair and neither of them like football, sports or anything stereotypically male. They are still young blokes though, but they don’t conform to restrictive gender stereotypes.

He looks a right mess what is he thinking?.
I agree, he actually looks repellent.

Now none of us can help how we look, but working with what we have in terms of keeping a healthy weight, nice clothes, make up etc..can help with our mental well-being too. Also helps not to turn peopls stomachs.;)

With him, it's like he is going out of his way to appear grotesque, or else he is surrounding himself with sycophants on his payroll that will tell him what he wants to hear and give him terrible advice.

What freaks me out even more than the body shots, is his facial attempts to appear alluring 🤮

That large sweaty face with the underbite, smizing to camera ...Sweet baby Je*us:eek:

I’ve gone down a bit of a TikTok hole, imagine publicly saying someone wasted your time because they didn’t want to sleep with you on the first date… 😑

Re: the pics of him in the pants and surgical gown in the street. He appears to be with his friends (who are of course, dressed normally). I can't believe that none of them have said "mate, you look like an absolute weirdo". I know they've probably told him that he "slays", but they surely can't believe that. They are the sort of people who will probably drop him like a stone when he becomes irrelevant or has a breakdown, whichever happens first.

Edit oops just realised I misgendered him. If you're offended, just change it in your head when you read it 😇
Don't both the Elton John and the Freddie Mercury (Bohemian Rhapsody) biopic movies have sections where they were just surrounded by yes men and hangers on, just along for the amazing party rather than being true friends? We've also seen this with countless other musicians such as Pete Doherty and of course Amy Winehouse. I guess Sam is going through the same phase of his career, but with all the added theyness coming at the same time, and we can only hope he comes out the other end successfully and gets back to being 2017 Sam Smith before things go too far wrong for him to come back from.

Not joking here at all, I went in a charity shop last week, bought Sam's debut album for 50p. I'd heard some songs from it previously but not the full album. Honestly, I've got it in my car and have listened to it on repeat since. It's incredible, his voice is so soothing.. Why has he done this to himself? He is so talented, he didn't need to change his image at all. I would have paid to see him live previously, definitely not now. It's a real shame tbh. He's destroyed his career imo.
I agree. He’s got a great voice. I liked his music before and even listened to his new album and thought it was good enough. I think maybe he just wants to stand out now and the music isn’t enough to do that.

100% he has ruined his career. He’s made himself a laughing stock. Maybe he wants to express himself but the skimpy clothes and “sexual” dancing just screams attention seeking. He’s alienated his original fan base/audience. As others have said here he must have the wrong people advising him.

Regardless of what gender Sam Smith claims to be I find the current incarnation absolutely repulsive.

Lewis's secret, apart from making big ballads that resonate with a lot of people, is that he's really, really funny, and always the first to joke about his flaws.

This is his most famous tweet - the Capaldi/Smith interface.

Im not a fan of Lewis's music but he always seems like a genuine, nice bloke who doesnt take himself too seriously. Never heard anything bad about him either
