Is it me or is her life becoming more and more of a car crash? She has all these random 'associates' she calls her friends, yet doesn't have a single meaningful interaction with them.

When I have the privilege of spending time with my closest friends, we are so absorbed in having the crack and buzzing off each other, that our phones don't leave our handbags.
