"Am back now" 😂. For someone who's supposedly been on a digital detox she's done an awful lot of Twitter and Instagram.

Her latest post is so... incongruous. Plus, it’s pure IG influencer.

Post some photos looking wistful with a semi-humblebrag caption that has little connection to the photos.
New low of attention seeking, she hadn’t gone anywhere. When someone genuinely ‘needs a break’ from SM they do it without the fanfare of a return.

Twitter isn’t social media. Twitter is where you socialise and talk about private things with your BFFs. 🙃

The comments on that post are 🤢

Ugh, few things piss me off more than Instagrammers who navel gaze about how social media’s been making them feel bad to they had to take a break to detox and ponder what it all means.

Let’s be honest, they’re all just fishing for compliments: “we love you, we love your Insta, don’t you dare stop posting!” It’s so transparent.

“Comparing your interior life to the exterior lives of others” is not an “unnatural and modern phenomenon”

It’s unatural to do it via filters and trite captions. It’s unatural to literally be a walking, talking advertisement.

She should have #AD tattood to her forehead.

Back... with the wrong colour of foundation?

Ugh the comments. Why are people so sycophantic, grown women spewing fangirl lines is just nauseating.

Do you guys like her look? It’s quite ‘done’ and very Instagram/influencer. On one hand I like it, I would never say she looked anything other than well put together and pretty.

On the other hand I’m so fatigued with the level of intervention for a look like hers. I’m not sure if it’s an age thing but it’s boring and over-styled/filtered/made-up.

I don’t have cancer and can’t begin to imagine the trauma DO is going through but I know for sure I wouldn’t be making any of it public .

Is this her attempt to make Will Self look even more heartless?
People cope differently and a lot of people find solace in social media. We don't know her life. Maybe she's lonely. Lots of people go through illness online I don't think it's fair to criticise this as if it's a cynical move on her part. I'm saying this as someone who doesn't really like her too.

I see what you’re saying. I would add though that social media can introduce an extra dimension of angst when one is grieving. It’s quite hard to see a particular narrative of a tragedy splashed around when you know it’s not true. And it stays there forever and gets lots of attention.

Think it’s more a problem with social media than with individuals.

I like to take a break from social media when I'm waiting for my biannual Botox to settle in. Not from Twitter or Facebook where it's just typing though. (I know next to nothing about Botox so acknowledge this may not actually be a thing).

Yes!

That would explain the close up make up free smooth selfie.

There's lack of self awareness. Then there's Sali Hughes. This, on the SAME POST where she announces her return to social media (having not been absent).

Fillers, I reckon.

“Everyone’s still on the dance floor” is REALLY making me grind my teeth.

She’s doesn’t have chat some tit.

Shes written articles and countless tweets about the time when she decided she was going to ‘step away’ from her phone. Like vegetarianism and dog adopting, Sali did digital detoxing better then anyone ever did ever. The pious is strong with this one.
