Long time lurker but she's finally pushed me over the edge to comment. I know exactly where she lives as I grew up around there and she is actually closest to Watford I'd say. She is NO WHERE NEAR St Albans - it's actually real schlepp to get there from her house (which is not in the idyllic countryside- it's 30 seconds from the M25).

I was glad to get rid of the midwives for my 1st and 3rd. But the 2nd one was around longer as I was poorly and she was amazing so maybe? I think they can attend up to a certain point but I haven’t popped a baby out for yeeeeears so I don’t know
I think it’s to do with how quickly heath visitors can take over from the midwife as well as the general health of mum and baby.
Baby had tongue tie so maybe that’s why as well?
