Rebecca brags a lot - but read between the lines.

She was ‘in shock’ after the baby arrived, which makes me think she had a fast birth which isn’t necessarily a good thing. She posted on stories she had ‘the worst night of my life’ which probably means the baby screamed all night. The baby also had a tongue tie, so establishing breastfeeding hasn’t been straight forward. The walks each day are possibly due to her obsessive need to exercise.

It’s all smoke and mirrors. I imagine for someone as self-centred as Rebecca the whole experience has been overwhelming and confronting - but her feed depends upon her presenting the pretence of a stepford wife life.
I thought this, too. The signs are there that it hasn't been easy sailing and, really, the hardest part is yet to come. They're still in the newborn bubble but that can't continue indefinitely.

Unless the deal is photo shoot for free and then you pay for what you want to keep?

There used to be a company which did this (frantically trying to remember their name). The shoot would include as many family members as you wanted even pets and it's the now clichéd things like the whole family's feet or all jumping up in the air together, you know the type.

A couple of friends variously went into this and did the shoot, got one free 7x5 picture and then had to pay for whatever else. First friend, horrified on going to the viewing, chose one picture and that was around £350 maybe 😱the other got sucked in and ended up admitting to spending c. £2000 on photos, canvases and memory sticks.
Let's hope it's something like this and not yet another grabathon
This is Venture - same happened to my friend

I'm not going to pass comment on her personally as I do follow her page, but I've actually been hurt by some of the comments on her latest post. I resisted the urge to comment back as I'm very much an act first think later kind of person but the model mother comment has irked me. Yes I do believe more positive birth stories should be shared but I'm so cross with the whole it's not luck it's because of your prep and hard work, bullshit. I did it all, prepped, hypnoed, yogied and guess what it all went tits up and did for a very long time afterwards. So in a contradictory kind of way, yes share positive stories but be bloody mindful of those who also prep and do everything they should but still do not achieve what they wanted to. Someone with such a mass following REALLY needs to approach this with care. Sorry for going a little mums netty!

Absolutely. How can people claim that there isn’t an element of luck?! It’s just ignorant.

In contrast I just watched the Lily Pebbles birth story video and she ended up with an emergency caesarean because baby was back to back....would love some people to say to her that if she had done more hypnobirthing prep she would have had a different outcome

Excatly what happened to me, after failed forceps first. There is no element of prep that will ensure you a perfect birth story, any good midwife would say the same. I think using media to portray this perfect baby bubble, including all the gifted items ( I have a non gifted bugaboo, this also irritates me!) is so detrimental to new mothers, whether it's your first or tenth baby. Keep it real for crying out loud.

Fairy play to the poster who read between the lines, further up.

Can’t understand why she is so reticent (? Is that how you spell it !) haha to share her birth story & keep it to herself . Let’s be honest how bloody amazing can giving birth be , it’s painful whoever you are and yes baby at the end is amazing but who looks back on their labour and gets all weepy because it is amazing 🤦‍♀️ ... she said she had midwives at the birth so wonder if they were private ? She hasn’t shared how her midwives felt about her having a homebirth for the first one , it was brave and tbh she doesn’t strike me as being like that she won’t even take a train/tube journey ...

From her post it seems she was still doing her 10k steps a day even during labour 🙄
[/QUOTE

She did say that god knows how I couldn’t get out the bloody chair haha

She’s not hesitant at all, she just wants everyone to ask for it to help her feel important and so that she can say it was in response to so many requests to hear it.

Yes, agree that she was incredibly lucky and I agree that she should acknowledge that and not attribute it down to purely preparation, having not had a straightforward time myself I think she is actually being quite thoughtless in the way she is talking about it, but I think that is down to a lot of naïveté, thoughtlessness and also her self entitlement rather than through malice.

That’s exactly what it is. I guarantee by next week we’ll have the blogpost “requested by so many of you”

She’s as bad as people that go on Facebook and say ‘I’m in hospital!’ etc just so people will go ‘you ok Hun?’ And they won’t answer until they’ve got the required reaction 🙄
