Good match to watch and good to see Ireland tested. Sad not to see Ringrose on the field thou.

Well the Wales England game was a bit of let down? Niether team seemed to play particularly well in my opinion. Tipuric is insane though

tipuric is such a great player. he struggled a bit with being compared to warburton so much earlier in their careers but i always thought he was the better player!

it was a let down but i was kinda expecting it - wales have had a terrible two weeks which probably affected their preparation, and england (however much the bbc tried to hype them) still look very middle of the road. the right result in that the better team won, but neither are really going to threaten. england have to play france and ireland next too!

really looking forward to Scotland France though. hope it'll be as good a game as Ireland France was last week

already looks like scotland are going to get battered sadly, especially a man down :(

once france get into their groove they’re so so good.

two clear red cards in the first ten minutes?!

madness. the french one was arguably worse imo because of the time he had to consider it. it helps scotland a little i guess though.

edit: can’t believe the ref was trying to talk down the danger of that 🤦🏼‍♀️

Well done Scotland, not a win but they played their socks off to get back in the game.

they’ve really turned a corner over the past few years. the old scotland would have completely folded but they kept going right until the end. they have so much genuine talent, with a coach who seems able to make the best of it. optimistic times to be a scotland fan i think (i say, as a sad wales fan 🤣😭)

finn seems a slightly difficult character imo, especially after reading the bbc article about him this week! he didn’t speak about any coaching staff with great warmth and basically implied that he coaches himself at racing because the coaches there speak french (so maybe learn some key phrases finn?! 🤣) i get why he might be hard to coach, even with all his talent, but from a scotland pov they need him.

i don’t remember much drama around gregor getting the job though! i only really remember “bunny gate” and all that nonsense. i do think they wanted cotter gone at that point and probably picked fast, but he’s been great for them so far.

From what I recall his dad at the time was quite high up on scotlands board and basically gave an ultimatum of hire my son or else.
Finn does seem difficult but he’s getting results. I think he will excel on his move to England

agreed. i think the payoff you get with finn is so huge and he’s such a talent that any coach would be happy to deal with him being hard work off the field.

no way! i’d never heard that - but it does make sense. i suppose it worked out okay!

finn is a loose cannon. some of his stuff pays off but other risky takes just completely fall flat - one being the intercepted pass for the French try.

sometimes his over-confidence is the undoing of him

Hiya, long time lurker here! Love that there's a Six Nations thread!

Totally agree. The issue with Finn is that so much was made in the last two rounds of his try assists (which were amazing, to be fair) but it meant he kept trying the same thing against France even when it was clear they were reading him well (hence the intercept). It took until half time before he started changing it up a bit. It was a bit Finn of old where he goes for what looks good rather than what works.

I do feel sorry for Italy, they haven't won a match at home for 10 years.

gosh i can’t believe it’s been that long! still think they’re turning a corner but they make so many mistakes…

i was sure they beat australia at home last year though! 🧐
